Grief Lives Within Silence

A surrealistic silence hangs sluggishly in the air,
as I sit upon your violet clawfoot recliner,
sorting fuchsia dresses into melancholic piles.
An opal ring glistens while the sun drapes over your portrait,
reflecting splashes of kaleidoscopic colors on barren walls.
Dust cakes the creaking floorboards as I place belongings into cardboard boxes.
A faint lullaby gradually infuses this somber undertaking.
The scent of floral perfume permeates—grief crashes over like cresting waves.
The wind whips outside, rattling the bones of a bitter house,
while a heavy heart sinks, drowning in agonized saline.
Tin plates and yellowed photos decorate mahogany tables
antiquated keepsakes, solidified moments in time.
The cerulean dusk creeps in, and the world softens.
Yet grief cloaks nocturnal restfulness,
as your sentience has been reduced to ash.
Merely confined within an engraved urn.

I’m only an acquaintance of peaceful sleep,
nocturnal thoughts are awash throughout the night.
Clock time for restfulness I no longer keep,
I’m tossing and turning until morning light.

Refuse, to ignite fuse
Whispers weave, wild bruise
Faintly forced into mouthpiece
Child playing robbers - police

Shooting flute inside nose
The breeze seeking repose
Like egotistic carnival clown
Wander behind his frown

Hopes cowards trusted crime
Burned past reveals slime
Salty bitterness sprayed away
Shipwreck on frozen day

Comfort me into restfulness
Never forget next zestfulness
Climbing trees everyday fun
And laughing has begun

Zen Mode

attuned to the inner sound current
not to be confused with tinnitus 
meditating therein, diving deep
flowing in tranquil restfulness 
soul takes a quantum leap

My Ode To April

Restfulness was for the body's good, 
bright and lively are the roses;
my aria has powerful tones! 
Martha smiles, today she's dressed in red;
she invites me in to taste her sweet bread!

I'M Finally Filled With Righteousness

I sang many songs that made no sense to me,
they were the empty words of a distressed soul;
I walked with a lowered head ignoring the beauty,
too afraid to look up and face my guilt humbly:
God was there, a step away from me!
God was there, trying to embrace me! 

I'm finally filled with righteousness,
not fearing the angry voices that mock me;
they have lost their power over me!
I'm finally filled with righteousness,
night brings calmness and restfulness;
I sleep and dream of heavenly visions until the brightness
makes its way through and illuminates all roads that were dark;
I find time to praise Him for waking up, instead of thanking luck!

So Quiet Within the Trees

so quiet within the trees
all movement is stillness
escaping is the hardest job
life expectancy increases
my heart beats with steady comfort
my blood pressure goes back to normal to reunite with calm

so quiet within the trees
all actuality is realness
proper adequate rest is realized, and i do not feel robbed
the feel of complete restfulness is full, and it is not spread out in pieces
pure peacefulness presents itself readily, not in rare, calm spurts
it feels so refreshingly gratifying to catch the perfectly clear air in each cupped palm

My Greatest Desire

My single greatest want is to forever be with You,
More than this my want to be in restfulness imbued. 

More than all the loved ones with whom I shall reunite,
More than all the riches in which my heart could delight,

When I, through the gates arrive, shall my soul seek for You
For this is a reuniting that's been overdue! 

Though I never have, my Lord, been blessed to see Thy face,
Somehow do I miss it like a well-familiar grace.

These my eyes that ever searched the skies to see Your sight,
Once they find their aim, shall never blink to miss Your light. 

May I never, ever be removed from Thee again,
For You are the only goal my soul has longed to gain!

I felt the polished wood of my table 
The softness of my son's hair

My pencil snapped when I started my Gratitude Journal
Turn to the person next to you and tell them about a teacher

As loud as God unzipping his fly
Sat in the back not being able to find the steering wheel

They laughed
They were charmed

The shapes of stories
The shapes of restfulness and well-being

My son is playing piano as I write this
I'm going to stop writing 

If this isn't nice, I don't know what is

One Who Is Love

Blessed by the sunshine
Spring shining, brilliant
Whisper of grace, pouring 
Gentle flames of delight
Raising my hopes for His
Wonders warming me
With inspiration and insight

Blessed by the rainfall
Sprinkling beads of faith
Across a heart who knows
His beauty is a living thing
Worthy of our praise, praying
That He will always make a way
To send down His revelations

Blessed by the songs of nature
Fading chortles of birds, so pleasant
Drifting on a meadow, melodies
Praising the One who made them
The Creator who I am so thankful
Gave me the voice and the yearning
To worship Him with all my heart

Blessed by the dreams I feel
Refreshing my soul with gentleness
A soothing touch to the spirit
Who sings with pure adoration
Of the One who lifts hearts, colors
Souls in wisdom and bliss, tenderness
That is part of His character, His gift

Blessed by the Son of God
The One who shines down His 
Pure, sweet love – His miracles
On the kindness of a cross
Who reflects His love, His gentleness
The mild and calm restfulness
Found in the One who is love

Relax into your thoughts and take a seat across from peace 
let the ocean of your imagination take you to the oasis of love 
mellow yourself into the dilly dally motions of meditation 
Loosen your muscles and undo all your internal confusions; 
Ease into the ocean of hush and restfulness, be one with God
Follow the quiet silence that comes from the seaside solitude 
and bathe in the salutary waters of inner communion. 
Ambient sounds of waterfalls cascading from your heart 
filling you with wholesome thoughts, both cherished and adored 
Admire the resilience that comes from knowing,  
Treasure those quiet moments that release you into your deep 
Relax into your thoughts and take a seat across from peace 
relax your thoughts, relax your body, relax your mind...

May the Lord Show You His Favor and Give You His Peace-

O Gods approval
His approbation
Giving you commendation
Instilling esteem
Granting goodwill
With kindness
Infilling benevolence
Allowing favor
May the Lord grant you

May our God sanction you

Dreamt of the Dreamer

I am the dreamt of the Dreamer
knowing no more what matters
can be acknowledged, are you still
sleeping oh thou I perhaps have called
God in my younger years of sleep
imbued with the sense of aloneness
never to be seen no more than a
rock stillness persists despite all of
the advancement which is simply running 
on the tracks of time, over and over
again we disappear into machines
angry hearts forgetting the restfulness
of silence...oh Dreamer of a billion years
where have you gone...do you remember
why you began this dream?  Were you
lonely or merely alone in your creation
of imagination?  What if you could 
animate the furniture of your mind?
what if you could awaken to playmates
playing back with you, just as in chess
my turn, your turn, and so on
until it was time to put the dream to
snooze alarm hit –more time required?
bordering on the mundane I think you
have forgotten what you began...are we
alone now?
