When days grow longer, you know it is spring
The sun warms the earth's soil, whoa! it's spring.
Shades of tender green appear, warm sun's here
Barefoot, run out, stump your toe, lively spring.
Colored blooms show in the woods, love floats round
Maidens slip and kiss their beau, that is spring.
Little boys throw baseballs fast, run at last
Coats disappear, red cheeks glow, joy in spring.
Sunflower plants zinnia seeds, soon they show
Awesome renewals bestow, lovely spring.

Worth living
Giving, caring, loving, joyful
Valued like a large diamond
Meaningful, precious jewels
Time of renewals
Valued.
Priceless, taken for granted
Everlasting, gifted
Valued.

Spring will forever be the time for renewals when brisk fresh air invigorates our drowsy muse. Tickling every inner child, beckoning them to come out for a playdate. And ever so gleefully we crack open the treasure chest of possibilities, dust it off to see what gems we can uncover.
dawn of
fresh beginnings
old shoes new paths

Workman Abe always left his tools for you.
His hammer, his level, his wrench, his nails.
His electric drill, clamps, vice grips, screws too
Left them hither and yon, habit never fails.
From Timbuktu to Hackensack his stuff he lends.
Some called him up to give him back his stuff.
Unconcerned, he said that’s okay; keep them my friends.
Workman Abe simply did not care, his habits rough.
If he came back to do another job, of course he left his tools.
Knowing that you might call him back; worked well for renewals.

Severely real, the harsh words
quietly unknown, silently weeps
the flame, the same games
sorrows as one cries
beneath the pain
laying foundations
the hurts in disguises
only not realizes
in the picture
as the view seems so real
not understanding, nor knowing
the real deal
the grief, undercover through a thick cloud
darkness sets in
no light to be found
a silent cry
scene beautiful spoken
the hurt and pain
through sorrows, with called names
whispering pain
fame, gold, richest
extravagant jewels
making up with flowers
as all things renewals
the end result
no more pain
Glory, the light, came.

Worms
Blue birds
Morning chirps
Almost summer
Mother nature casts its spell on the earth
Promises us renewals and rebirth
Caterpillars
Bright flowers
Showers
Warmth

early one morning
born in late March
Arrived with a gust of spring
in time for awakenings
for trees to bud and come alive
for birds to chirp
their sweetest chants
born in late March
early one morning
in the midst of exuberance
as an awesome tribute to life
a prime chance for renewals
grand-daddy’s pride and joy

Inventions of the mind aimed at physical manifestation
Developing into a new or higher outcome
Extensively flexible and so open to renewals and updates
Abstract bridges connecting thinking and reality
Sadly, the grave yard is its biggest store

Weather Colloquy
I have seen the storm-
cometh with angry tones
steady in its wrath
dropping massive hail stones
I have seen the sky-
wet earth to its core
steady with its rain
pelting down forever more
I have felt the hot sun-
naked fire upon my back
steady with its heat
so fierce was its attack
I have endured the cold-
winter blasting all about
steading with its ice
wind gusts with mighty shout
I embraced the Spring-
soothing weather to me
steady with its renewals
of birds, flowers and trees

SPRING
Testing the water with bare toes
I will recoil
to the misted edge of hoarfrost
softened soil
peek through eyes of Crocus
and Jonquil
at the emptiness my promise
must fullfil.
I’ll whisper to the branches shy
with cold
to remember seasoned stories
they were told
beckon to the passing birds -
alight
let us celebrate this
un-chilled night.
My warming fingers, reaching gently,
thaw river ice
as softened earth imparts my scent
to foggy spice
worms wiggle in the drizzling
April showers
as dawn tempts the stretching vines
climb empty bowers.
I will touch each aching heart
with sunshine’s gift
releasing all from stifling
Winter’s grip
nestle with the Cardinals
and Jays
languish in renewals
warming haze.

Fairy of the Forest
Fairy of the Forest on a mossy stone
Casts her magical spells
From atop her wondrous throne
Daily she sends helpers winging through the dells
From evening tide until the morning’s bells
In the spirit of beauty and truth she rules
surrounded by secrets she rarely reveals
She orchestrates leaf and flower renewals
From the highest of treetops, to ferns she heals,
while creatures from prying eyes she conceals
Her dress is fashioned from bluebell petals
Her wings from gossamer tightly woven
Her chants from deepest earth’s espousals
Decrees and rules from a rainbow’s haven
We revere this leaf- green forest maven
