When days grow longer, you know it is spring The sun warms the earth's soil, whoa! it's spring. Shades of tender green appear, warm sun's here Barefoot, run out, stump your toe, lively spring. Colored blooms show in the woods, love floats round Maidens slip and kiss their beau, that is spring. Little boys throw baseballs fast, run at last Coats disappear, red cheeks glow, joy in spring. Sunflower plants zinnia seeds, soon they show Awesome renewals bestow, lovely spring.

Back with congratulations on your delightful reveries of spring! Our nectarine trees are beginning to bloom and look like pink snow! Was thinking about planting some zucchini! Blessings and prayers.

Sam, I hope you get the zucchini planted and that it makes an abundant crop. So many ways to prepare it and enjoy. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment on my work and let me know that I placed in the contest. Sara K

Why, thank you, Sam. I guess we will know soon if I placed or it may have already been judged and I did not place. I can't remember. Part of growing older. Your visit was a delight. Sara K

Hello Sarah, this haunting work of yours encapsulates all important aspects of spring. Romance, vivid hues, colours in bloom, the warming effect of sunshine, the exuberance of childhood. You brightened my day with your generous remarks about Rapid Urban Belt. They are warmly welcomed by me Howard

Awwn, this is such a beautiful write showing the arrival of spring, I especially love the aura of your words as it's so cold here, absolutely freezing and I'm not really a fan of winter.. So reading your eloquent words gives me some warmth.. The rhymes are absolutely wonderful along with the gorgeous flow of lines.. "Sunflower plants zinnia seeds, soon they show", "Colored blooms show in the woods, love floats round" Ahh, stunning couplets!! Sending you best wishes and light :)

Ah this is so descriptive and soul warming to read dear sara, I absolutely love the way you’ve used refrains here in a lyrical way too, so catchy and captivating. And the way you’ve described spring is beautiful. I especially love “ Colored blooms show in the woods, it is spring Maidens slip and kiss their beau, it is spring” so uplifting! Pleasure always reading your work. Sending you light always

Thank you, IE. I did some changes on it because I don't think it was exactly in keeping with the form. Your visits are always uplifting. Sara K

Spring, oh, so lovely! Zinnias and sunflowers, how I adore them! A joyful gaze forward, winter will not last forever, it never does. This is especially a happy reminder if one lives in a colder climate, I couldn't wait for spring while living through an icy winter one year, all I could think of was spring's approach. This is so joy filled, I love it! :) <3

It can't come quick enough Sara, very cold here at the moment with lots of rain, we've had severe flooding in places too. Enjoy your weekend. Tom

Tom, it is raining right now as I type these few lines. Supposed to clear out soon though and then a few days of fairly nice weather before the rain comes again. Those sunny days do help. Your visits inspire me. Sara K
