A Haughty Nation

Haughty Nation

“They crap in our forest”, a young man yelled
the Roma people had pitched a tent near the woods
where people of this tolerant nation go hunting.
They came here the people from afar to seek work
but are usually met with contempt and mistrust.
They came in the hope of getting a share
in this nations’ largesse, but ran into racism
unbecoming pride like it was their cleverness
that brought up oil from the bottom of the sea.
Now, instead of being unassuming, they became
reactionaries giving pompous advice to less
fortunate countries.
“They crap in our forest”, nourishing an imbecilic
nation, that due to undeserved riches has lost
contact with reality and a kind- heart- ness.

Recalling Piano Sonata No 2 In B Flat Minor

We were still free to dream,
however, a tax on any imaginative writing
that contravened the rules or regulations
for literary acceptability
or worse
were deemed counter-revolutionary.

In Poland, the last of the hold-outs
wrote odes to Chopin
but essentially all was well ordered and
compliant to the powers that be.

Now that Chinese is a compulsory language
for third graders
many have become re-programmers
for the old and recalcitrant,
but like all wrong-headed reactionaries
the old dwindle only to fade away
in disgrace.

All the false history books
have gone out of print.
Now we study the history of
our brave new world. It is
always sunny here in our
equally allotted cubicles.

Any misinformed die-hards
that wander the streets begging
us to return to the old ways
are quickly rounded up
and sent to our happy
and well attended
correction schools.

Chopin has now
been put on a no-fly list, but few
have heard of his dangerous sonata
or think of it at all anyway.

Reactionaries pale in the face of vigilance, rationale, and restraint
When rightful actions are served, reactions are not to be feared
Any price paid for just and proper responses is not in vain

Long Live Brussels

Long Live Brussels!

We need to fight back,
And in arduousness react,
Without restraint or hesitation,
And blame in aggression.

Islam and faith must go down,
They must subside in renown,
Islamophobia is more credible,
Because of terrorism indelible.

There’s something wrong,
With religion’s repeated song,
Which assimilates radicals,
Who are potential criminals.

It protects reactionaries,
And funds Jahidi armies,
Asking us to tolerate,
The more liberal delegate.

We must state the lines,
Of faith’s heartfelt pines,
By commending some,
And by banning the one.

Superciliousness In Norway

Superciliousness in Norway.

“They crap in our forest,” an angry man yelled,
Roma people had pitched tents near the forest
where people of this tolerant nation go skiing
in winters. They came here to find work but
was meet with scorn and mistrust, they came
in hope of getting a part of our largesse; the rich
do not know this word. When people who used
to be poor suddenly see they are better off than
other countries, the first reaction is pride and
an unbecoming arrogance, like it was their
cleverness that brought oil up from the bottom
of the sea… Now instead of being humble having
had such luck they become reactionaries giving
advice to less fortunate countries.
“They crap in our forest”, nourishing an imbecilic
nation that due to undeserved richness has lost
contact with reality and human kindheartedness.
