With a fist full of daggers it descends upon its prey
Dropping like a meteor without the light of day
But no rocky harbinger, this bearer of last light
It's gift eternal night borne on the softest wing of flight
Envy, and wonder, consume the pondering breast
Was it oversight or blunder that left us so unblest
Since the point where first we leapt, we long have sought the wing
Yet clumsy sad contrivance is all that we can bring
'sif chitin brought to shiny curve, could match the kite its wing
Still our eyes reach skyward, as if prince had been king
Our reach forever past our grasp… we're left to pine and sing
Oh we can bring the night to those we deem worthy of rest
But soaring on the breath of life is not how we've been blest
But rest assured in this one thing we share with those of wing
Squawk, or screetch, or melody, we too, can laugh and sing
Breathe deep as though it be your last, and fill your soul with song
Then let fly with the breath of life… sing loudly, if not long
white light, blessed bliss
one light, tepid kiss
although your eyes are the prize,
it's those ruby lips i'll miss
rapt 'round in rapture
my heart you capture
your visage, casts vast visions,
of which, outlasts my stature
I gently beat the drum
it seems to appease my inner child
~ small pleasures warm the heart

Can't wait
for the rapture.
When the evil people
go up to heaven, and we can
progress.
Sitting in the sunshine
streaming through the window
my catnap's long overdue
it's way past time I drifted off
to the land of milk
(and honey) ah Shangri-La
a return to déjà vu
and my reverie
it's no hallucination
merely visualisation
of a fertile imagination
and when all is said and done
no I'm not the one
(but, 'Wish I were,' hear me purr)
the cat who ate the canary
or that got the cream
but until I do I'll catch some z's
lose myself in whimsy drift away and dream
Wind
whistles
tempting tune,
on air-swept wings
beguiled birds soar high
to seamless sapphire sky
with the fleet of cotton clouds,
design changing silk shapes adrift.
Art shifts on curved canvas of cobalt,
flows as a freedom form with rhythmic joy.
I’m swept by rapture wave surge of nature,
swaying me on swells of solitude,
resounds the music of silence
in pristine precinct of peace
that suffuses my soul.
Lured by topaz sky,
my mind adorns
jewels of
divine
joy.
Easy to get lifted up
billowed out on the wonder and awe,
yet who called the mountains, giants,
the forest bearing seed, small?
The rapture
of not seeing the white horses,
those waterfalls of white horses,
yet knowing that they are there
behind the giants and the seeds
all bursting out from nothing
back into nothing,
that kind of rapture
is very much more than
enough.
Her body becomes a chapel
opened by flame,
arched in surrender
to a light too holy for flesh.
The angel smiles
(soft and deliberate)
as if he knows
ecstasy is edged with death.
She breathes not air but radiance,
each gasp a half-formed prayer.
Her ribs open like shutters
and eternity bursts in there.
No shame in this trembling.
She is the altar, and bride,
and lover, and flame,
whom God enters not with thunder,
but with fire too deep to name.
Her body is incandescent—
like a moth in a candle flame—
every nerve a silver filament
burning at the edge of breaking.
She cries out without sound,
a prayer too fierce for words.
She lies in the hush that follows,
emptied yet brimming with rapture.
Flushed with the glow of Unknowing,
she becomes the crystalline Castle
where light returns home to itself.
My prayers rise before God like sweet incense.
Before him all my facades fall away.
I am left standing without a pretense
And I am left with not a word to say.
His glory once again fills his temple
And all the things of this world become dim.
Before his great holiness I tremble
And all I can see are visions of him.
Once again the silvery moon has pilfered the golden sun
Total eclipse is upon me, time has elapsed suspending orange
Twilight’s begun on the orb’s descending softer glow
Veiled in twilight…
Placid and limitless, I’ve glimpsed into the frontier in tranquil rapture
Moon aligns sans sun’s bright face
Jolted by twilight…
I coast along a sea of stars juddered wildly
Waves spanning the sky avec abandon
Embraced by star-strewn externals
I leave behind a familiar harbor
Anchored are my temporal remnants down in the terrestrial realm
My spirit soaring, a mirthful lodger I be,
swimming in twilight’s radiance
Its celestial smile shall be the death of me...
embracing star-strewn
crowned external forevers~
we soar the tides dance
From the DUST DIN of demolished LUST I’ll rise
The PLEA of love WITHIN ME won’t ever die
My HEART will hear it from the START when it cries
I FEEL TENDER touch in the SPLENDOR of gentle breeze
Fly from ABYSS to the TEAL horizon of BLISS I’ll try
In the silver SHROUD of CLOUD grandeur my mind sees
From placid PLATEAU joyous streams FLOW THROUGH me
On my NEW WING I’ll soar and SING in the sapphire sky
The VIEW of the reflected rapture rainbow HUE I’ll see
From the DUST DIN of demolished LUST I’ll rise
The GLEE of love WITHIN ME won’t ever die
My HEART will hear it sigh HURT when it cries
I FEEL TENDER touch in the SPLENDOR of south wind
Fly from ABYSS to the TEAL horizon of BLISS I’ll try
Through the silver SHROUD of CLOUD in my mind
From placid PLATEAU joyous streams FLOW THROUGH me
On my NEW WING I’ll soar and SING in the sapphire sky
The VIEW of the reflected rapture rainbow HUE I’ll see
Let’s take the slow boat,
in a lake of love afloat,
bliss mists our soul’s sole emote.
As boundaries blur
and nodes within our form stir,
with throb of love we concur.
Lay me down in a field of barbed wire,
I’ll fulfill your noxious fantasy;
It is mine too;
Let the messenger speak,
The broken arrows on your letter
I assure you were received;
Now lay me down;
Pierce me the way you want to;
Let the scratches bleed me;
Mingling with our scarlet telepathy
desire marries us by blood oath;
Forever miscible;
Let your latent paroxysm indulge,
I assure you it’s rough healing;
Meant to rupture false rapture;
Lay me not onto petals
but barbed wire, this is noxious;
Your message is my fantasy too.
Look there and tell me,
what do you see?
A darkening sky filled with fire.
A fall into black holes,
circling the things
that make up your every desire.
Look now and tell me,
just how will this go
when you reach to grasp it again?
You’ll feel it disintegrate,
dirt covered snow
leaves not but the mire in the end.
Yes, look now and add it up,
where does this end?
A story book finish ‘twould seem.
A final, “I told you so”,
check the last box…
and come to the end of the dream.
