Steel Ruler

Steel Ruler

My steel ruler, Mr I Will
Toy With Your
Affections, passed away
last Wednesday. The doctor said it was a
severe, sudden disease that
was going around that got her. At her funeral in
the backyard I sung to
her her favourite vowels i and v, then I
confessed for her to be the
Cheese Stick snatcher. My stationary wept, then I
supervised, judged, a
celebration adagio that was
secretly a
competition. Of course, the ones whom didn’t move
slowly were
automatically OUT! And the winner was:
Mr Hole Puncher. No prize was given. Who placed
2nd? Well, in
my mind there’s
no 2nd.

Sleep Crazy One Sleep

A nocturnal sorting machine
clatters inside a skull.
Images flit across closed eyes.

A blind man works there,
he is not the loopy one
he’s just a working man,
a projectionist, a time-puncher.

There are surfacing zip codes
that can lead you from
one dream world to the next.

Read the waves that reach your shore.
Follow the insomniac
that looks into his own burning theater.
Read with a crazy heart.

Sleep Crazy One Sleep

A nocturnal sorting machine
clatters inside a skull.
Images flit across closed eyes.
A blind man works there,
he is not the crazy one
he’s just a working man,
a projectionist,
a time-puncher.

Nerves are running on fumes,
they can’t shut down
to leave you flopping around
in a non-sparking void.

Not to ever dream leads to crazy;
the kind of crazy
that bumps into invisible walls.

Look to where the moving pictures
become hints and insights.
Look up
with that far sight water has
in a deep well,

There are surfacing zip codes
that can lead you from
one dream world
to the next.
Read with a crazy heart.

Limerick : Once a Ticket-Puncher got dead drunk

Once a Ticket-Puncher got dead drunk
Punched everyone he called « Bloody Skunk ! »
Sentenced to punch in ring
Minus his wedding ring
Now his wife’s punched drunk by a starved Monk.

The Ice Frozen Box, I Like To Call My Heart

The Ice Frozen Box, I Like To Call My Heart
8/04/10
By: Sami LaRose

In times of evaporation, the heart fades away
Looking for a newer and brighter day.
He strolls alongside Park Avenue
Then he see’s something he would never expect.
A big bullet right through his cheats!
He falls to the floor and aches in pain
He did not expect to end it this way
But this is merely only the puncher wound to the heart.
The other was much deeper and darker, (and made him fall apart)
But this one stings just as bad.
No matter what they say,
She knew she shouldn’t of taken her heart out to play these silly games
So she takes her bleeding heart, ever
So carefully, and places it in a box for all of eternity.
It shall forever lie in the ice frozen box.
Keep her heart as cold as her soul
And whenever it hearts up from love,
The iron shackles around the chamber
Shall tighten up, and bring it down.
So you see it’s better to keep yourself
Isolated and depressed
Then alive and happy
Because only one of those ends badly.

When the Heart Weeps

When the heart weeps
The whole body goes to sleep
Even the bright stars
Though very away, far

Turns of its light
And its the heart's night

When the heart weeps
The cut is deep
Like that of a ruthless butcher
Or a determined puncher

Sometimes we are too selfish
That makes us devilish
l° will just try
Not to ever again cry
l° must keep my eyes dry
