This year, my darling love, you’ll receive more than flowers
Jewelry, candy, candles, gifts, kisses and chocolate bars
You will also get your AARP letter and your Medicare card
It’s vital that you take good care of yourself going forward.
Since you’re now sixty-five years old, you should feel blessed
Lucky, privileged and chosen. Please, please never get depressed
Age is always a good number, as long as you’re very healthy
And funny. The Almighty God is now watching over you regularly.
Eat well, drink more water, take your medications and vitamins daily
You’re now a senior, that’s a major step forward and a serious promotion
Since you’re retired, take a walk once a while. And that’s not being lazy.
You’ve worked all your life and have earned fair and square your pension
Your grandchildren and family will come to visit and spend time with you
I wish you a Landmark Birthday. Dear love, a blissful life is awaiting you.
P.S. This poem is dedicated to the sweet friend of my heart and soul.

PROMOTION (TRI)
Why snuffle for favours like a ferret
However one might seek a raise
The basis of promotion is merit
I guess there may be other ways
However one might seek a raise
A solid performance is the key
For most, a smile is just a fantasy
The basis of promotion is merit
Despite what many others think
One just won’t do it with a wink
I guess there may be other ways
Of all the methods to employ
It’s sucking up that will annoy
Promote good elsewhere,
Receive praises from within,
Handclaps here and there.
It might be time to call it quits
I'm bursting out in sobbing fits
My face is breaking out in zits
For this job I am unfit
My resignation I submit ...
What is this surprise promotion?
To the farthest side of the deep-blue ocean
That changes all my meshugineh notions
~ I've always yearned to speak Laotian

A world that can't do without your consent
A world of sales promotion
A display of shopping conveniences and benefits
To win your hearts
To win your consent
The miserable man has cracked his head
To win some of the stonefly hearts
To make some benefits
In a world of great competitions
Like cheap sale,special offer,special discount,buy one free one,free try,free samples,free gifts,birthday specials,a longer guarantee period,a good after purchase service......
It's really a splendid offer
If without any tricks, hidden secrets or scandals
Underrated Basil got a promotion
And it caused a commotion
Among luckless names for demotion
All of them restive and voicing the notion
Of An Elevation fathered by emotion…
They shall for the two wrongs raise a motion
Before the cause of their commotion:
A man you could enrapture with perfumed lotion,
That Bribery be distanced from Promotion
And Barefaced Trickery from Demotion.
Also, wages that should all please
And not a single soul displease.
A new image
For first impression
An advertisement
For sale promotion
Various lens and mirrors
For real, virtual, strange images
But for man
No matter how modified the appearance
The heart remains the same
Last week I barely had the notion
That today would cause commotion
Our team has such harmonic motion
But after years of my devotion
I tell you all with high emotion
That I received a new promotion

Here's how much-sponsored brands get a boot—
Get public's sharp brow, and absolute,
There’s a point here to moot,
A point not in past put,
Nor passed a fair test ere:
Should ads talk in thin air?
For a change, shoes sold bite seller's foot!

Happenings|20.06.2021|
Poet’s note: This limerick follows what happened a few days back. Cristiano Ronaldo, a well-known footballer, removed a Coke bottle at a press conference and replaced it with one of water, and soon the company lost four billion dollars in its market capitalization. This does raise a few fundamental questions. India’s home brands, Amul and Fevicol, took a jibe each at these brands. Amul (the milkman of the nation) taunted: ‘Not bottling one’s feelings’; Fevicol (makers of various adhesives): ‘These bottles cannot be removed, nor will its valuation dip’. I loved it. Yes, markets do need some earthy humour in these hard times, a food for thought for them to mull.

Amongst us there are talented poets, you know it:
Why ignore the technical and artistic work by Wells?
Thomas Wells knows his nation, and the Founding Parents
(But we rather use the chauvinistic term, "Founding Fathers"
Ignoring Martha, Abigail Adams, "girl" spies and agents)
II
Thomas earned the highest American degree
Yes, the PhD. it is called. (No, no: not "Pull Him Down")

When you want to have a promotion,
Do give out much love and devotion;
Excel;
Do well;
Know correct ingredients for potion.

Used savants make belief
Such the Tamil Highness Publisher
He caged talents the Money-Maker

Shed them shorn one after the other
Damn not this common thief
Just his penchant for Chief

days have now turned into years
there are a few grey hairs
i notice a wrinkle here and there
pain is felt in places that i never had before
i guess that is what comes with getting older
however....our love grows younger everyday
it keeps me spritely i reckon
it is never easy always, but loving you is always easy....dig that!
i never thought i would ever say this and mean it, but i love you more everytime the earth spins in a full circle
that means we have evolved in a circle of life that has come full circle in multiples of infinity
that means something to me more than you know
as you lay sleeping on my right thigh for the milliumteeth time, i just shake my head at the realization that God has His Own Plans for us
it may not be at all the way we imagined our lives to be, but then you are living your dream in a way that is completely opposite of the carefully crafted art in your mind
though i am living in many unified zones of twilight, i'll be doggone if my smile didn't give me away so easily
years are now decorated and celebrated as sweet decadence
:-)
Greetings, good and kind fellow Soup-ers!
'Tis wonderful, I say,
to be a Soup-er, so if I may,
I humbly request you to lay down your pen dipped in fine ink,
and visit my blog which can be found at the following link:
http://afzalmoolla.wordpress.com/
Now if this blatant self-promoting of mine seems rude,
I ask for your generous forgiveness, dear fellow Soup-er,
And wish you a day, that is peaceful, kind, and just plain super!
So cheers from the scribbler for now,
and as I take leave, my fellow Soup-ers,
I, in courtesy, to you all, do bow!
:-)
To be a supervisor
this you need to know.
It’s quite easy really
any elementary person
can become a leader,
but most important,
can a leader become
an elementary person?
Therefore never forget
one’s own roots, those foundations
of an upbringing of moral substance,
one of basic humanity
and esteem,
where right is right
and wrong disciplined.
Remember to manage,
everyone as equal
as we are all
in the eyes of God!
