How will you ever
afford yourself
the cost
beyond your means
How will you pay
the price of longing
financing
your dreams
How will you leverage
the cost of hope
interest rates
on fire
How will you love
your heart
in debt
— bankrupting desire
(Dreamsleep: September, 2024)
the price of passion
null and void if it hasn’t
been merged in the Lord

Half Price Hearts
Half price candy in fancy boxes
Shaped like hearts
Sitting on store shelves
Wondering why they weren’t given
To someone’s sweetheart
Do they feel alone?
Were they abandoned?
Like the many broken hearted lovers
That this day celebrates
Left alone wondering why
How did they end up on the unwanted shelf?
Alone and abandoned
See that shiny package, on the upper row
Its base cardboard shelf mate, is not the way to go
There must be embossed letters, of metallic sheen
And it must be shrink wrapped, so it's always clean
Add a few more staples, and a cute twist tie
You know it should be fancy, if I'm going to buy
Prominent the brand name, in colors no less than eight
The text it must be fancy, never print it straight
Don't forget the bar code, or the warranty card
Packed in lots of peanuts, in case if it gets jarred
To deter the wayward, affix a radio tag
Then place your corporate logo, on the check out bag
Beware the competition, don't be such a slouch
For reuse they have added, a see through zipper pouch
Please sprinkle on some glitter, for a final touch
And get a catchy jingle, to make me pay that much
It's a pre-priced package, and we'll buy it in a snap
It's a pre-priced package, and we'll keep coming back
It's a pre-priced package, and we'll buy it in a snap
It's a pre-priced package, and we'll keep coming back
P OVER-PRICED IN CHRISTMAS
To hell with Hallmark and their bourgeois cards of greeting
Sent to wives from guilty husbands who are always cheating
Or to that teenage blonde who wiggles for older men only
Sent from a young teenage boy who she leaves lying lonely
To hell with Macy’s and their senile Santa in a cheap suit
To hell with their sales with which honesty has a major dispute
I have no tears for Sears and no bucks for Roebuck too
And to The Home Depot and Loews I say to both buck you
The commercials on television go on adfinitum
While commercialism and greed become an item
There’s fake snow and snowballs that never melt
While the Santa in Macy’s is made to tighten his belt
Wal-Mart and K-Mart both sell the same damned crap
But at Macy’s your little brat can sit on Senile Santa’s soiled lap
These are all places where compassion and Christmas spirit is defied
And I don’t think a really good Christmas sale is why our savior Jesus died

A star-lit night,while out on patrol...If
the enemy is ever sighted,it's beyond my
control.Land mines and IED's blow up metal
boxes on wheels...American live's,of this
un-Godly politically oil inspired war of
Iraq, takes as steals. An American flag waves
in the wind and flies overhead...Is Arab
oil the price we pay for our very own dead?

i doubt i could be that girl,
smiling on the cover,
with crooked teeth and khakis.
shes never tasted cum,
or smoked a joint before christmas dinner.
because her parents have money,
thats why she lies on a manicured lawn.
thats why she needs to work.
to be a pharmasist.
a teacher.
another drone in morning traffic,
sipping midpriced coffee
and talking on a motorola.
living a mid-priced life,
i doubt i could act as well as she can.
