far from fields
scarecrows pose
in dark shadows
never alone…two or three
on a pole as you approach
stuffed with hay, their farmer clothes
listless, listing just to left
they grow candy corn
and listen for nemesis
with two hands in a bowl
far from fields
scarecrows pose
innocence in shadows
will a tyrant get away
with the goods or be hung up
after all, little child
are you feeling stuffed
all that sweetening
all that trick and treating
yourself to more than one
A PIOUS PACHYDERMIC POSE
(A Haiku Duo)
Big head, knees, and legs;
A huge body, kneeling, as if
In genuflection:-
Long ivory-bound trunk,
Graciously bent down, as if
In pious prayer:-
What nonet flaunts its lovely derrière?
Then sings with sweet, buttermilk sound—
with shape fully self-aware,
in nine lines? Ass firm, round,
curvaceous with flare:
and so high, bound
for beach wear,
and found,
here?
I shall not pray for roses,
When daffodils would do:
There's glory in the simple things
That I will not eschew.
I shall not pray for roses,
When daffodils would do:
The simple without poses,
I never shall eschew.
As a child I was raised God-fearing,
but as an adult, I took to steering
my life around those,
who thought they could pose
as religious types: all “Praise be”, all cheering.
I hold the stem of a wineglass, a pose in meditation,
cradling the glass as if it were an injured bird.
This is my moment of peace, my mind at ease
in stillness I peer at images and visions
tease my heart to recall my journey through life.
I need the grace to have clarity of thought,
an unclouded focus, an ungrudging acceptance
for moments of bliss, of loves possessed and gone,
of choices forged, rejected, and discarded-
I wish no barefaced cynicism, no conscience accuser.
Absolution is my own private, solitary affair
with unquenchable flair I will face life
in all of its stages in unfaltering whimsy -
not wither like a blossom in drought,
not a weather vane in a shifting wind.

Glowing with jubilant starlight
periwinkle eyes and rose cheeks;
Teacup is full my heart is bright
the smile on my lips loudly speaks;
Feather pen with flawless techniques
gives vintage style to modern prose;
A quill waltzes emotion shrieks
frozen into a heightened pose.
Freddy Mercury's iconic pose captured forever
London lost out on negotiations
bronze statute now in Montreux Switzeland
Home of Mountain Studios
Where he recorded seven albums
including Made in Heaven
while saying prose would propose
we should be using proper pose
used by the Pro's
when we suppose nose knows
always looks great when it glows
wherever it goes
when those knows when she sews
quiet quilt party she again throws
while wind with each other comes to blows
when we have buttons and bows
with our huge head down to our toes
while our stupidity shows
when dear was with her does
she stepped on ice and feet froze
green grass hose and hows so it grows
Trump loves his rubber Boobie Doll
She is the fairest of them all
Her feminine wiles

Beautiful rose
Your petals color hearts with love
With pretty pose
Your beauty in the garden grows
For Valentine
You are the chosen one to shine
A muse for poets to compose
Beautiful rose

Ain't that
What ah-man
Supposed to do
Treat you right and
Take care of you
Be there
And love you too
Baby
I'll take care of you
Some people believe
In loving the one you're
With
I ain't down on that shift
Making you laugh til
Your moodiness is gone
Maybe it right
Maybe its wrong
Ain't gone change the lyrics
To the song
What you did when we were
There darling act
Like you care
Remember me
I am the one
Who loves you
Remember me I am
The one who adores you
Keep me first and
Far most in your mind
Love is a little more
Than just being kind
Baby
Baby
I will take care
Of you
Ain't that
