PEAK
rose up
through dark sea
light created world
pyramid is stairway
pharaohs climb to join stars
"peak pivots earth to the divine"

The wind
has blown hard all day
and pivots torn leaves
around wounded trees.
It possesses no pity
but follows a mindless
command to play out
its might.
The world is so.
Regardless
it goes its way
and blinds with both
beauty and disease,
pauses a living breath
to marvel at creation
or stops it dead
by an accident.
Faced
with such vagaries,
with suffering,
with no answers,
what is there to do
but care.

Feet patter through the leaves of the oak wood
Her breaths frantic blond hair bent back
Stops swivels and pivots seeing all she could
Body sways and she prays for air to catch
Then she see it lurch, lips grotesque, “Snack”
Another step, “Come back,” hairbreadth snatch
Her screams echo through the trees, crack
Snap, tearing of tendon and chop chop hack
Careful where thy wander for under the covers,
a monster hovers, in wait, to tear rip and peel
and ribbon flesh from bone, you and your lover
Boogeyman emerges burst reanimates ashes
Looking for little boys and girls souls to steal
Rictus cadaver of a mannequin after he bashes
Your brains in with his talons, meaty meal
to this manifestation that’s not fiction but real
That creak in the floor above the sound below,
in the basement or the scratches in the walls,
he’s there waiting to lick lather eel eyes aglow
take you some where dark and festering calls
He is your fear shhh dear he’s here feel that
Too late for you I’m afraid he sees you
And what he sees he ceases and disappears

He did it because no one else could have done.
Hands raised in praise, yet so few ever know.
I guess it’s enough just to know that he won,
but there’s more I wanted to understand so
I sought for an answer, unwritten in pen -
why he subjected himself to it all?
Why the injustice from birth until when
the climax when God turned his face to the wall,
leaving him suffering there on his own?
Agony far beyond what man can bare,
purposely facing the cruel cross alone.
A perfect injustice beyond all compare.
Why was this needed? I wondered for years.
Nothing I found helped me understand til,
amidst my search a new question appeared -
what was the void that his grace had to fill?
I’d read that he had to succumb the demands
of justice so that all mankind may be saved,
but who demands justice? I don’t understand!”
That’s where I was but from there it all changed.
For just like a balance that hangs in the scale,
everything pivots around where it’s braced.
So likewise, it all hinges on this detail...
and once I learned it, the rest fell in place.

Tremolo Torrents – 12-20-23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tremolo Torrents
Thundering fat raindrops fall,
Driven deluge in wild squalls,
Gossamer drops stream in waves
Quivering mists pour like raves,
Frenzies of clear crystal pearls
Hang from boughs in flawless swirls
Downpours shiver in rain flows
Swallow remnants of rainbows,
Tremolo thunder prepares
Hot ripples through static air
As torrents pelt thirsty ground
Sheer rain staccatos resound
Each drop reflects lightning’s fire,
Pivots wildly with desire,
Tempest’s fury rides the storm
Wind-swept raindrops leap free form.
Ascends a moon, grays an eye-fools goodbyes,
reviews disciplined portrayed nature sighs.
Nightwings greet dusk, whorls up into absence,
ebb star pivots, another consequence.
Penitent pose submissions of prayers,
points at fingers in lieu of sheeps, declares.
Heavyweights contends bantamweights eyelids,
fights to the finish, loser wake--forbids.
'Tis human nature's need, their body's to rest,
eyes seals and falls behind dreams, genteel cast.
We harmonize abandoning chambers,
grants of Old World charm Masterpeace painters.
I am three legged,
I am balanced,
It’s a mystery,
I sit in a dim-lit room.
I bear the sage's books,
Where he scripts his thoughts,
The monsters that stare through his window,
The gloom that pervades the meadow.
I am three legged,
The unseen pivots me,
The unknown trestles me,
I'm in a library of the deep.
I am a door into the day,
Prop and support along the way,
The sage takes off on my plane,
Nightfall embraces me.
The nonpareil of a a violin plays late into a golden era
its "An Autumnal Farewell, by Debussy"
With magnificent beauty in dazzling colors of dying
she spindles and pivots in outer space flaring her
senescent brittle frills into thin air *
Unmasking after a long summer dream she drops from a tree
prepared for the deep mulch, free falling
she is beckoned to the ground without making a sound
Transcending a seasonal time she lives within my memory
this little leaf that clung to my childhood sapling;
Oh I remember many many things, but what I recall the most
is the way she trembled, just before the big fall.
Distort of sounds strum his bow —sawed heart rhythms,
mischievous fool impels my mind's rapt boredom.
The devil's finger warns and pivots, sedates,
adrift among alleged stolen dreamscapes.
The jester sleeps all day, perplexed I awake.
A polished metal skeleton
gleams under a porch light.
He slides a silver tube
beneath skinny legs,
pivots on a straining fulcrum,
meshing gears rattle,
knees unlock.
He rides by night.
A dynamo flickers
as head bent,
he powers up hill and down.
He will not stop
until he gets to her parents’ home.
He arrives panting,
one window is still lit,
he imagines it’s her window.
He feels the gut hollowing sorrow
of young unrequited love.
At school
she barely acknowledges him.
When he has caught his breath
he turns the bike around
and rides back into the dim
lamplit streets.
The night rider cycles on.
He will ride again
until his bike is stolen.
Reverse Polarity
Linage totally broaden,
Spun before the darkness;
Nothing be closed bantered-black,
Horizontal dismissed toggle;
Lists topsy-turvy tracks,
Vertical crevices
Lever rests supported pivots,
Supported cryptic;
Representation essential role,
Bi-polar toll;
Black darkeness reverse polarity;
Now of this is clear to me?
Movement pivots lid lifted, Pandora astonishes
Actions perpetual pirouette dancer acknowledges
Glamour glues sockets smooth, figurine believed
Image incorporates graceful, a fighter bereaved
Curtsey in zenity as her stage lazy susan circulates
Tulle tickled hips scissor, treasures sage congregate
Rules spurred by war spring away from delicate damsel
Intimate fleshpink stretch legs enter audition to dazzle
Craft to elicit captivation tunes ballerina's true energy
Kills a brash sword brandishing cavalier, buried enemy
The Musks
Homonyms, closeness or likeness,
name or smell, be all there,
creates vanishing impetus,
Twit byes and scents to air.
Brut (cologne) was by Faberge,
Joe Namath modeled them,
Brit's Unilever owns today,
autistic Musk use--'um.
Kicked-up raw earth lingers...consorts
just when a mug pivots,
trigger the hounds and all their sorts,
unfeeling and vicious.
Commercial Brut Musk spray wear's off,
sure and forward sashays.
Refine defines, sign-wavers scoff,
Blue Origin tweet praise.
Like Men in Black bruises those teased,
bypass pedos and smile,
a wound-up car humming was eased,
brute Musk in Space-X style.
Failure is a razor sharp edge.
Pierces the heart like an arrow.
Cuts deep into the cartilage,
And does separate the marrow.
Fault is prison without escape.
Lacking that someone else to blame.
Tips a scale and records on tape.
Weighs me wanting, snuffs out a flame.
Leaves me alone again at night
Facing the bite of cold steel rain.
Like sleeping under a flood light.
To awaken to much the same.
A time of testing will beclown.
Turns a straight path into an arc.
Pivots to an orbit around,
That moment of missing the mark.
An introspection blade quickens.
Showing a purpose to this pain.
Exposes motives once hidden,
Different from those I proclaim.
Cutting still deeper these gloved hands
Show me what I refuse to see.
That I prefer creating fans
of me and not so much of Thee.
Personal success is legit.
But recall this marrow we share
Conflicts with truth we must admit.
It comes from ancient ilk, beware.
A Time For Us, Again
Traipsing sunbeams pivots slothfully to moon gleams,
steeped profound shadows to vivid flirtatious shades,
albeit, daylight or twilight, a time for us exists always,
feelings of our yesterdays, nothing begin tomorrows,
views from each other draped in unforgettable smiles,
chats slip to small talks, idle steps drifts to wandering,
tad forward bit behind till side-by-side our hands held,
tight grips grin senses, embrace progress the moment,
heads tilt lips touch the fullness of each other's breath,
taste the sweetness of the other's soul, now be it blink,
wink or reopened eyes is blissfully kept locked away in,
hearts tender beat occasions itself time and time again.
