Premium MemberPrince Or Pauper

Everyone's aware of their place in the world
Prince or pauper, rich or poor
It's very seldon one class transends to the other
Most are locked in forever more

'Tis so very sad but true of our class system
We must try but not confuse
Much as we'd like to crash through the barrier
There are so many factors infused

Lotteries are probably the only factor of change
That didn't depend on hereditary
Not being accustomed to such sudden wealth
Losing a fortune we become wary

We're all aware of where we stand in the world
Prince or pauper, rich or poor

Rich Pauper Man Dilemma

There was a man
tormented,
abandoned...
He had no friends,
only flatterers...
He was so poor,
but so pauper,
that nothing had...
There was nothing, in fact he only had
  silver, gold, and cash...!

It is what it seems -
Another boy's dreams
Of Ronaldo fame.
His shirt is a shame,
His goal is the same -
True love for the game.

Boomers Prince or Pauper
David J Walker

Remembering when young
boomers knew
That a quarter really mattered
As juvenile consumers grew
The choices always flattered

Displayed in rows at
the corner store
The buying power pondered
A quarter could last
An hour or more
Before its value squander

Remember the times when
Quarters and dimes
Were at the root of children’s chatter
And now in tin pans and coffee cans
The pennies and nickels are scattered

Occasionally counted carefully
in stacks of silver and copper
remembering the value
that used to be the difference of a
prince or a pauper

Opinion Changes

Living emotions and feelings
In the silent heart,
Creates awful sounds of pain...

Motto of peace bugles
To the dreadful war...
As opinion changes to every humans...

Victory for the nation from the death of humans,
Sounds scary,
Albeit it is termed as justice..

Colours of the skin,
Determined the values of humans,
Though the bloods cannot be white....

Pains of poor never be heard,
Pains of pauper
Remains unheard, eventhough pains of animals are cared..

Peace from death,
Respect from colour of skin,
Unheard pain of poor - sounds scary
Albeit justified through wealth...

Weird to hear....
But common to humans - cause, opinion changes..

The Princess and the Pauper

The Princess and the Pauper
by Michael R. Burch

for Norman Kraeft in memory of his beloved wife June Kysilko Kraeft

Here was a woman bright, intent on life,
who did not flinch from Death, but caught his eye
and drew him, powerless, into her spell
of wanting her himself, so much the lie
that she was meant for him—obscene illusion!—
made him seem a monarch throned like God on high,
when he was less than nothing; when to die
meant many stultifying, pained embraces.

She shed her gown, undid the tangled laces
that tied her to the earth: then she was his.
Now all her erstwhile beauty he defaces
and yet she grows in hallowed loveliness—
her ghost beyond perfection—for to die
was to ascend. Now he begs, penniless.

A Poor Beggar

We celebrate Valentines day , we celebrate Teachers day ,
we celebrate childrens day , we celebrate mothers day .

Alas ! Why we don't celebrate a poor beggar's day ?
A beggar on the roadside ,
With stick and a begging bowl on his side .

Life for him is a curse ,
He has nothing to purse .

He begs for alms
With his open palms .

Sometimes he will be obliged ,
with a happy feeling , he will be budged .

People scowl at him and glare ,
None thinks of his welfare .

His sorrows no one share ,
He has a small piece of cloth to wear ,
Which is big enough for him to cover his body bare.

He has to die with his ailments ,
Because he can't afford to pay for his medical treatments .

When he dies , no one is bothered about his funeral ,
No one makes him a sepulcher ,
 Because he is a pauper
Hence he is a beggar .

Life for him is woe ,
Hope is dumb.
The world says go ,
And the grave says come .

                                                                                 -GTR

Pauper Angustum

a man of means and meager will
perched upon his window sill
playing vague for the promise of power
sings a song of a beg for the borrow
last chance, take the lead or follow
deny the headline buried shallow
a wink for here today gone tomorrow

patronize our cornerstone
lie to cover a backbone
stand upon the working hands
a great pretender in command
the artistic gesture moves the band
a flaunt for the sake of humanity
jaded swinging on a strand

depravity seeks a bended knee
prosperity stands with hypocrisy
all to shake down a charity
inspires food for the Frey
feed the mighty, deny the small
the future strums for us all
as the fool dances, a fool circle

a lust to hunt is the pounce of greed
posed the tiger crouching mean
we see a coward dwelling in debris
fallen deep beside the seeds for spring
every bloom fighting for the surface
eager to bend, flourish, live to die savage
the grasp to breathe, a place to seethe

English the Pauper

English,the pauper.
I am Mr English, standing on a side walk,
For ,I get carried away, when I hear them talk.
I sometimes borrow and sometimes steal
A word or sound ,just to get a feel
Dal becomes Doll and tea is just some Chai
But ,when Hello, becomes Hi,all I do is sigh!
The tasty broth of language does have local spice
Where 'Yeah,Yo and Yehhh', are sandwiched on the same slice
I wonder, how this rich diction, would stand the ugly test
Where OMG, LOL & SELFIES, do have their nest
I,English, was a king that ruled the kingdom of communication,
Now ,I'm reduced to a pauper with awful pronunciation .
An appeal from this pauper ,is plain you see,
Do not suck out my essence ,when you do use me!

Premium MemberNeither a Pauper Or a King

Neither pauper or a king

I've got nothing I could give
but for you I would live
Will you take me as I am?
(cause) I'd love to be your man

I've got nothing in this world
Got no diamonds got no pearls
Love for you to be my girl
Take my hand give it a whirl!

Chorus
I'm neither a pauper or a king
but, I've got a wedding ring
be my wife, make my heart sing
with you I've got everything (I need)

In love forever we would be
happy for eternity
What a blessing it would be
If you'd just say YES to me

Together, we can fly so high
through the endless starry sky
and just like a butterfly
our life will flutter by

Chorus
I'm neither a pauper or a king
but, I've got a wedding ring
be my wife, make my heart sing
with you I've got everything (I need)

And if you say YES to me
I'll make you so happy!
(cause) you are my destiny
Please, come set my soul free

Chorus
I'm neither a pauper or a king
but, I've got a wedding ring
be my wife, make my heart sing
with you I've got everything (I need)

Repeat chorus
Fade to zero

Hero In Chaos Or Pauper In Paradise

It is better to be a pauper in paradise
Than a hero in chaos,
For a pauper in paradise can still
Partake in plentiful simple pleasures,
Yet a hero in chaos is neither free
From untimely death nor above the
Corrosive attrition that fear begets.

Premium MemberThe Dream and the Pauper

I can breeze the smell of garbage everywhere in the streets of brooklyn
the government let us down after a heat wave not sending trucks for the pick
as so easy to keep the rats at bay with votes as all we need is reality
a third world we became as the rich filled their pockets and my taxes for wars
sorry to burst your bubble you all but me not happy with the lack of wealth
not spend for the future you kidding me as the garbage we should get rid of

not a revolution but spend my money on infrastructure or else and not for war
palestinian israeli we are all the same all we want is our garbage out trust me
religion they put down our throat to keep you silent but in god I trust and sure
I can lit my candle to any saint I want but get rid of the garbage greedy bastard
making trillions as a dollar in my pocket I have a voice to tell you no more
as for ever america was at war to fill pockets and not yours but the ten sadly

Mixed Colours and the Saucy Pauper

Colours are mixed
Seasons are fixed!
Essence of beauty - Such joint; a necessity!
The phlegm signifies our stench,
On whose bulging shoulders shall they bear?
Phlegm taken out of joy; crumbs out!

The road is just two-friendly,
For the pauper knows the colours of the night-rain
Both sides of the story, clumsily kills giants!
The stench of the pauper run-un much much!
Both the kèlèbè and the colours; form a beauty!
Is it beauty for the saucy pauper?

If our àlejòs see this, shall they run?
Or for the colours shall they crave for?
Then, let's dance to the shameful dance of gesutures
then.
Visitors abode further not, on our salient island.
Whose fault?
Eejó taani?
Saucy or her children; the colours?

Blood shall wipe out our foil and fault!
Let's hope for the shining star-
Let's work for the blest not,
Blest be cursed.
Bless be great!

A Pauper When You Die

In life great riches had I, and
all that money could possibly buy
Before me lay great wealth and
Prosperity, but a lowly pauper was I
Acquiring great riches consumed me, but for
all those riches did afford only heartache and
sorrow for inside I was among men most poor
Destitute I was for I owned nothing that was lasting
For worldly treasures of silver and gold I gladly sold my soul
To great the price too great the loss!
I never knew worldly pleasures would exact such a high cost
For this great wisdom I now possess I must sadly confess
Gold and silver can help you on no further than the grave
where you lie, for you are a pauper when you die.
