How I longed for and every morn,
For a decadent slice of cake,
At beginning of every dawn,
Was hooked, my heart did often ache.

Not fussy, fairy cake or bun,
To be sweet, I was for sure born,
Rain, snow, mist, hail or scorching sun,

i am a pastry chef
the constant baker my lot in life
i have shelves filled with life's spices
grains from many different fields
my ovens are in constant heat
doors begging to be opened
that feed the outer shop
where the world may peruse, purchase 
if it so cares
but on that end, i hardly bother
i am not interested in what life

The pastry chef made some cuisine
Then he went to use the latrine
He played in his pants
Which was covered with ants
Then fell into the mixing machine

A Mid-Week Break

Lily White was in the mood for sweets 
Walking the streets 
Came across pastry treats 
Modern Royals pull out a dessert spread 
Enough that armies could be fed 
Magpie this Magpie that 
Oh mag pies get Lily White fat 
Picking up one in the first half 
Modern Royals snickered with a laugh

Still wind as the couple walks down the lane.
Stolen glances as they avoid touching hands.
Pastry puff upon the air, Sunday morning dew,
Too near for comfort, too far for pain.

How I wish I could evade this fearsome torment so divine!
If I could only pluck the bittersweet rose before it e’er grew.

Boast brownies baking
in dirty palm oil bacon fat
Sugar-coated swine vanilla cupcakes;
pineapple upside down snout snacks,
so coconut phone hasty ...

Small things Remembered 
 
The shop at the corner 
Of my childhood 
Has stopped selling Danish pastry
Nor has it Coco macrons,
Milk and cheese
The rooms are bare 
On its counter cutting cheeses in smaller portion
An old fashion weight 
Used when selling butter
Dusty windows
Forgotten, no one says: remember where
We bought our milk?
The bell that rang when opening
