Slogging Through the Riff-Raff

Fender-bender over there,
the traffic is awful,
ain’t not space left in the lot,
that’s such a load of bull,
and the punch-in barely works,
that’s almost criminal,
this is how we all start the day….
The whole server’s on the fritz,
I.T. just says reset,
I’ve turned if off three times,
but it hasn’t worked yet,
and the boss is running late
yet it’s a safe

Premium MemberThe Perfect Gang

Were they the perfect gang?
Since off the same song sheet they sang
Looking out for each other the norm
Weathering each and every storm

Idea generation when they met
Nothing in stone was set
No challenge was ever too great
Solutions always carried weight

Success bred success indeed
But alas it also bred much greed
Limelight grabbing opened cracks
Telling tales to newspaper hacks

And so

Premium MemberUnprecedented Memories

Former co-workers out for dinner and brew,
discussing their old workplace's who's who -
they vied for the honor of best memory,
their mind's eyes conjured faces they could see.
I spoke of a man, and I persisted,
till they recalled one who never existed.

Premium MemberElevator Riches

I just heard two elevator pitches
Surgeons both, too int’rested in riches

Yet I found them quite funny
          Even if they loved money

Steady the float

Here rest my oars.
A killick thrown to the school of fishes,
To still my boat from the peering waves.
Fishy-wishy scatter as water splatters,
Like wood chips flying when the pickaxe strikes.
A ship draws near, but my killick blocks its kiss—
Its stale mouth might stagger my rest,
And send my gathered fish fleeing the net.

Much of the mud my

Premium MemberThe gap between love and true love

When love is good,
it's really great.

Unfortunately for most
when the sparkle fades,
they don't know how to fix it.

Seems easier for many
to clear the slate and
go for instant gratification
of finding someone new.

They're addicted to
easy pickings and
the high of novelty.

The other side of that coin
is they are cursed to never
experience the depth
of true and lasting love.

MESSAGE TO GHANAIANS

Ghanaians are beating
The drum of shame
For Nigerians
Which they will later dance to
Calling Nigerians in Ghana
All sorts of names, due to some misunderstanding
Now they're promoting hate just because of mistakes.

Ghanaians are on the street
Creating scenarios
Nigerians the villains
Forgetting they triggered it
Forgetting what their Ghanaians
Are doing to Nigerians as well
No country without

Little Mirrors

Reflection catches
My guilt .
I lose the trust
In whatever , God, I pray too.
I need a release ,
I need to take the seat
I need to Stare back at Me.

Eyes opening a grave.
Don't won't to Be IN THE WAY.
I'm red, in chains
Im Covered ,
In dirt
Unburied Me slowly.
 I'm

Toward optimum development
defying diagnosis gloom
faith of child
soars midst freedom bliss
hits milestones yon debility blight
from wheelchair not exiled
radiating hope, trusting the Lord*
while prayer reaches heaven

*Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my

Cosmic Dreamcatcher's Ride

Across the way, I can replay
Scenes from the past, like a wandering day
Of hope and tenderness on the blue bus
Among riders, hurried but generous.

As such stars passed through Montana, eyes stared,
With nice young men, jobless, steeped in despair,
Yet, still the road offered joy and surprises,
Bright beaches beneath friendly sunrises.

Felt like an odyssey beaming with light,
And

Premium MemberThe Rites of Business

When one hits pay-dirt
How far can this go

The thrill in success is habit forming
Success becoming currency of the day’s blo'

Materialism playing a heavy hand as judgment
With minions waiting to join in

Groping for a share... a nibble
Crumbs from a well stocked table thin

Success breeding honey pots
Of opportunity to crowds waiting...

To fill the known orchards
Supplying needed and

     Todd’s latest job’s in arbitrage

The area where the coffee scent fills the air
Where the homeless see the well off and just stare
Everyone has their heads down into their phones
Beautiful buildings and waterfalls running off stones
The people are too educated to be nice and polite
Front desk security is called if something isn't right
Plenty of places to choose from to fill
