we're talking
about finding out

perhaps
i was pate
spread on cracker
pieces that fell into my

beard but
i heard what
i thought was an
open and shut case but

not my

hey i think i knew
this from before but not

knowing when
before was and so
turned and looked in a
mirror and saw somebody i

“It did not look like suicide to me,” Lee, the novice detective said.
“It was suicide,” her partner stated firmly. “Open and shut case. Solved.”
The last seventeen cases he had solved were suicides.

“But she was stabbed in the back eight times,” Lee protested.
Her partner coughed loudly and indicated they should go outside to discuss it.
“How are four perfect x’s wounds in her back suicide?” she asked him.

“Have you ever thrown knives?” He asked her.
She shook her head ‘no’.
“She was a great knife thrower,” he said. “She just threw them up in the air and laid down.”

Lee stared at him. Was he serious?
“The ceiling was only nine foot high,” she argued.
She decided to speak to the medical examiner until she discovered that he and her partner were twins.

Eight days until retirement! He thought.
Eight days until I get another partner she thought.
Determined to re-open his last seventeen cases.

Foot Caught

Foot Caught

Down path to door did race;
Was an open and shut case;
Foot in door had been caught
And whole farm he had bought;
Did do it with style and grace.

Truth has the power
to unlock under the carpet of lies
hidden agendas covered up secrets

Open and shut case proof behind scenes
we are drip fed day by day by media
controlled by its source rubbish

Issues to corrupt peoples vision creating demons
within reality and moral thinking a world can see
as one body in a whole circle of good living souls

Fast Food Kitchen

When at home its often fast food I crave,
might even be leftovers that I saved,
always in a race,
open and shut case,
thank God for my nuke everything microwave!

Lock Me Up...

If it's a crime to love you,
lock me up, key and all!
Tell it all over the news,
let it ring from city hall!

It's an open and shut case,
it's a shoe-in, a smoking gun!
It's in plain view, it's a no-brainer,
it was me! Yes, I'm the one!

You've caught me red handed,
reaching in the cookie jar!
All the evidence is conclusive,
I'm the one! Guilty as charged!

There are plenty of witnesses,
and no need to cross-examine.
No testimony is necessary,
the verdict won't be challenged!

Don't expect a high-speed chase,
I'll gladly turn myself in now.
Here I am, awaiting sentence,
bang the gavel! hand it down!

Just throw the book at me!
Dead man walking here! I'll keep,
my love for you behind these bars,
'til the day you set me free.

Are We Alone

The night sky is set ablaze by such brilliant stars,
It seems to beckon to me from afar.
Like a time traveler that is lost or misplaced,
Or maybe a distant traveler who is here to investigate this new race.
Why couldn’t there be life beyond earth,
Maybe a different species that God breathed life into and gave them worth.
We are reaching farther and farther with technology and skills.
Seeking new boundaries excitement and thrills.
Remember at one time the world was presumed flat.
All it took was someone with courage to discredit that.
I’ve always kept an open mind while holding to my faith.
I feel nothing is just an open and shut case.
Right or wrong it’s just I’ve always had this hunch.
That maybe God created more than us, you know a different bunch.
It’s just a thought and nothing more,
Nothing that can be proven right now and that’s for sure.
Till that time I’ll keep my eyes to the heavens watching with awe.
And thank God for the beauty and the sights that I saw.
For it is His canvas that He so majestically paints.
And with God all is possible and in His vocabulary there is no word can’t.
