Premium MemberChardon Becomes King for Life

in youth Chardon became king of the dark forest
his intricate lacy antlers showed strength and purpose
the other animals felt God had personally created this handiwork
they nominated and elected him king for life
None of the suspecting he was the antiChrist
But some knew....

Premium MemberLife In Pink

On behalf of National Breast Cancer Foundation, I was nominated as a candidate for the Fabulous Over Forty fight against breast cancer campaign.

As it has become a very heartfelt campaign, having lost loved ones to cancer, I cannot help but be moved by those who have fought and won, and those who have fought and loss in the battles against this ravishing disease.

La vie en rose, one of my most favorite old songs that was written by Edith Pilaf during World War ll, with a message to fight for love in war. I remember when it was sung by Grace Jones and so eloquent sung by Louie Armstrong.

I have taken the passion of this song and have given it a new meaning, in the heart of my campaign; to fight for love in times of war; and for your loved ones in the war against breast cancer.

Standing In For God

Take my advice,
And don't let your spouse,
Think you can replace God in the scheme of things,
As you will have a hard time explaining,
That you have not been given the power,
To change the the way the universe works,
Make new rules that everyone else automatically must follow,
Or to carry messages, that keep changing, between your spouse,
And those who are expected to automatically agree, with all changes,
Because you are standing in for God,
And it does take some convincing for your spouse to accept,
That as you have not done enough to be nominated for sainthood,
You are ineligible for this role.

Intoxicated

11/20/22

Here is an honest statement
I'm extremely intoxicated
These haters still constipated
Snakes continue being nominated
Dark forces thirst for power in a world full of a lot of hatred
Or folks that are calm and patient
Much being complicated
Good intentions punished and corruption tolerated

Still nothing helps
Onto something else
Put my heart into it yet still wasn't felt

Sipping a glass of Cognac
Yet again another nosy ass
You'll never see me at any Holy Mass
The same said for discussing Zodiacs
Try your luck, shred you like a Kodiak

Wanting my help the one that they call quick
Often having a hand and much involvement
Still a drug addict and alcoholic
A continual problem have yet to solve it

Had to fight for room, since most weren't giving any
Regarding life, I'm missing plenty
I've not been living healthy
Changes, I've been resisting many
Slipping every
Time after time, eventually the outcome it is deadly

I appreciate your concern
There's been much I've had to learn
Many times I got burned

Brevity Is Beauty Told By a Deity

One poetess advised me to be brief
As my words can be easily recollected
She is no more, but her advice lingers
I nowadays think of her with gratitude

Only when we are brief and to the point
Our message will be read by everyone
As, all are worried over loss of time
And brevity makes them never worry

Even if my poetry tells golden words
And it is so long like river Nile
Many may skip it in a hurry with fear
As time can never be wasted by all

Thank you dear poetess, you are great
As once you were nominated for Nobel
You belonged to the land of Socrates
Your advice is ever worth remembering

May your soul rest in peace my dear
You have opened my eyes usefully
I long back understood not your idea
Now, I know, you have benefited me

We must muse over others' admonitions
Gold and diamond may be there hidden
If we have the guts to scan and find
We and the World are surely profited !

Premium MemberHarry a Pompous Arrogant Goose

He was the most puffed up keeper of the meadow they had ever had.
They had nominated him for a joke, he was an arrogant, pompous cad.
He thought it was real, and ran for mayor and governor too.
We called him High Horse Harry, the goose who always wore blue.

He had a fine top hat with a ribbon round its band.
He wore an azure blue vest that was the talk of the land.
The deer were the only animals who thought Harry was real.
The rest of us poked fun of him, for he was a boastful heel.

The rest of the state did not realize this was a joke.
They actually voted for Harry, and elected the bloke.
Mayor H. is now more arrogant than ever, with a pocket watch too.
On his way to becoming governor, wearing his pompous prissy blue.

Luck Loves Hard-Work

In case efforts are not taken
Surely defeats can't be broken
As toil and success are connected
Let the former be firmly selected

When we do not use our skill
Positive results will be only nil
If we are by laziness dominated
For glory we are not nominated

So long as we do not work hard
We are not rewarded by the Lord
If our aim is stunning success
Our efforts must be in excess

When sweats fall on the ground
Our future will be turning sound
Success will grow with top-speed
A victorious life, we can then lead

Only by hoping and hard-working
We achieve what we are seeking
Let our attempts be strongly made
Then our lives, success will pervade

On Autumn Leaves

Their rustling becomes forgot part of past;
No pleasant environment can everlast,
Days of fall for reason their shade o'ercast,
So, we can clearly observe the contrast.

Nature has innate desire for rebirth;
No creature is nominated for mirth;
Everything, for measured time, has it's worth;
All is destined to be a part of earth.

These leaves had just a nine months duration,
Each feather has time for aviation.

Rose, at last, loses it's beauty; scatters
Old mountain can't withstand time and clatters
Snowy glacier though firm, at last shatters
Everything is void, just nothing matters

The doctor in the headlights is Debra Birx
Obama's nominee! Is that a quirk? --
Now that she works for Trump
  Pelosi wants to lump --
Birx in with pseudo-science quacks and jerks

Dr. Deborah L. Birx was nominated by
then-President Barack Obama, and easily
confirmed by the U.S. Senate, to be the
United States' Global AIDS Coordinator.
(Were you opposed to her then, Nancy?)

Special Day

Adored is the heart touched by you.
Redeemed is the soul by your love.
I am yield in the center of your heart, as i wish you a happy birthday.
When i became unconscious of this marvelous day of yours; its like heaven is about tasting the berry of your lips.
You made me feel radiant alive like a baby bunny in honey.
You bring me joy in every thought, my precious loving honey.
I have nominated myself to celebrate all your birthdays, because its another chance of saying i love just you.
Since your beauty reigns in me; i am glad, in fact i am happy and honored to call you my own, my love and my queen.
                          HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY WORLD

For Those Thrust Into War's Maw

For Those Thrust into War's Maw
by Michael R. Burch

This poem is dedicated to Harvey Stanbrough, an ex-marine who was nominated for the 1999 Pulitzer Prize and has written passionately and eloquently about the horror and absurdity of war in “Lessons for a Barren Population.”

No, I will never know
what you saw or what you felt,
thrust into the maw of Eternity,

watching the mortars nightly
greedily making their rounds,
hearing the soft damp hiss

of men’s souls like helium escaping
their collapsing torn bodies,
or lying alone, feeling the great roar

of your own heart.
But I know:
there is a bitter knowledge

of death I have not achieved,
and in thankful ignorance,
and especially for my son

and for all who benefit so easily
at so unthinkable a price,
I thank you.

The Tomb

Though building his own tomb,
he’s not insane.

His violinist friend’s body lies
within a glass box.
Violin tunes drizzle
over memory.
This musical funeral,
he finds charming.

A corpse and a carcass are alike
in the sand.
He wonders
how long the world has to wait
before a soul emerges
out of mystery.
Life is like a light
spreading between the two misty ends.

A lion-tailed macaque,
a Malabar pit viper,
a Carpenter ant,
a golden rain tree…
all die serenely.
But blood and brain turn
a man’s death
doleful and dreadful.

Today he renovates his tomb
that stands as the sole certainty
among several uncertainties.

Happy

I'm happy today

Not because I just won in the stock market
Or nominated best poetess on LinkedIn
Nothing special has happened to me

I'm just happy to be alive
                              To get another chance
         To honor my GOD
To improve myself
To love people
And help them to hope

Dear followers, there is always a reason

                    To be HAPPY

You still alive, you can change your destiny
Many others in the graves can't

You enjoy good health
Too many people are suffering in silence

You never slept hungry
So many others don’t get enough food

You have wonderful parents
Many others never knew their mom or dad

Just count your infinite blessings
         Say it loud! I'm lucky!
Thank you GOD for everything
Thank you for lighting up my life
You don't need money to be happy
All you need is a giving heart
            And a grateful soul

The Death of Robert Forster

You were an actor and your death has caused remorse.
You starred in 'Me, Myself and Irene' and 'Delta Force'.
I became your fan at the age of eight when you starred in 'The Black Hole'.
Some people hated that movie but I like it and your death has taken its toll.
You guest starred in 'Magnum P.I.', 'Murder, She Wrote' and 'Walker, Texas Ranger'.
You had a ton of fans who you never met but in their eyes, you weren't a stranger.
When you starred in 'Jackie Brown', you were nominated for an Oscar.
Because of your talent, you were destined to be a wonderful movie star.
You starred in the 1998 remake of 'Psycho' and 'Small Town Crime'.
Because of your charisma, you'll be remembered until the end of time.

[Dedicated to Robert Forster (1941-2019) who died at his home on October 11, 2019.]
