Premium MemberFarewell to Summer - 2024

Falling Autumn leaves brashly wave goodbye to Summer
And strew the pathways with emeralds, rubies, and gold.
Radiant beauty engages the land in mummer
Encouraging Summer to relent and let loose its hold.
Watching with glum expression and immodest dress,
Eventually losing the tug-of-war with the chill cold.
Life and death become the drum to which She will bend
Leaving the breathless Wind time to nimbly mend.

Tomorrow She moves forward
Onward from time borrowed.

Sulking away with dried diamonds
Until Autumn’s auric sky explodes
Mindfully exposing Her horizons.
Memory of Summer implodes.
Efficacious efforts of Her victory,
Reign of Autumn’s golden glory.

FISHING POEMS

         Poems swim in my sea
They are light fish, I seek them nimbly...
I hardly manage to catch them!

Premium MemberReturn to Me

A child, I, when you touched my heart and mind,
so meaningful, but also undefined.
Like faerie dust, you left me behind.
There, my unceasing, lifelong search began.

Inside songs and art, I hoped to catch it,
seeking the poetic words to match it,
But from the thin air, I could not snatch it.
'Twas teasingly, from me, you skipped and ran.

I looked for you in a girl's touch and smile,
in nature's every teeming sunlit mile.
You nimbly eluded me all the while.
Ephemeral sprite, I'm a beaten man.

Oh, please visit me soon, my long-lost friend,
or we'll both be dust blowing in the wind.

Water

She quenches our thirst, cleanses our bodies and soothes our soul.

She nurtures our crops so that we may sleep with full bellies.

Ever accommodating, she gracefully manoeuvres herself to fill all empty spaces.

Nimbly seeping through gaps, there can be no secrets when she is around.

But keep tamed your arrogance for her calming humility should not be mistaken for frailty.

Ferocious is her might and steady is her will.

She will rain down on you from the heavens to remind you of her glory.

She is the elixir of life.

She is water.

Premium MemberWeaving

“This way and that- and in and out-
is what weaving is all about.”
                                       by_ Poet

Oh, how I love to weave!
To think about a pattern, then apply;
the length of it, conceive-
and with the rules of what I choose, comply.

Oh, how I love to weave!
My fingers nimbly moving to and fro;
then pausing to relieve
my mind when concentration becomes slow.

Oh, how I love to weave!
with ins and out of thought, my fingers move.
If not what I perceive-
adjust it, and some bits I then remove.

Oh, how I love to weave!
When nearly done, I get to join each part!
For sure, would you believe-
I wrote this poem with word-weaving art!

Premium MemberAn Unusual Friendship

Sleek form of burnished russet fur
nimbly walking our garden wall.
Each night we expect this visitor,
indeed he has become an old friend.
No longer hungry, robust and fit
with a very fine brush.
He sits down quite fearless waiting,
dreaming of his potluck dinner.
I never named this creature,
although literature calls him Raynard.
He is the hero of countless adventures.
No, if I were to endow him with a name
it would be Liberty.
His species survived the great hunt.
In my mind I think 'how could they?'
No longer clarion calls and dogs barking mad,
with horses milling around.
No more port in the stirrup cup,
a civilised gesture before barbarity.
But, back to my old friend the fox, it appears
he is no longer feral although domesticated?
certainly not. somewhere in between perhaps.
I love the way those piercing eyes gleam in the dark,
who knows how we are perceived?
Each night we carefully watch each other.
It is a distant friendship
communication
by way of food.

Wasted Wine

Tonight I lay in bed in dread
of returning in the morning
to the beige building on that dead end street
that floods like the Nile after a rain
potholes in the parking lot like a lunar landscape
to my tiny office the last on the left in the back
its one window facing a barren farmer’s field
where I’ll listen to the click-clack of the keyboard
as my fingers fly nimbly over it
I must have been meant for so much more than this
mind numbing monotony
of minimum wage pay though I have a college degree
to type marriage licenses and divorce decrees
tax returns submitted by the wealthy
that only serve as stark reminders of forty years of failure
to make the world take notice of me
as if I were cursed from the cradle
to be covered with a cloak of invisibility
forever to remain a nobody that no one can hear or see
as all the magic in my mind withers on the vine
wasted before it could be made into wine

Love's Footsteps

She walks nimbly, like the mist
that mellows the tender night,
climbing the stairs with her
heavenly grace.
Half moon softly brightens her pale face,
a gentle breeze impairs her long hair.
A vagabond at peace under the bridge
hears her footsteps, so eloquent so brave,
wish he could meet her and her raven dress
in which her body sweetly expresses, all that's
best of brightly universe.
She walks in earnest, like Venus in its
dear dwelling place. He hears
the jackals bark, waiting in the dark.

Vagabonds

Verdigris on bronze viv
anchors in mud’s delta.
Grim steps keep going…
A strange fear: the sea,
biting like thorny scrub…
On salty tears, a rodeo
nimbly rides, life’s pain
death-dusting the land…

Still seeking a fortress?

Before this practice, first a learning
Of the veils of maya, causing feeling limiting

Maya itself creating illusion of individuality
A separation from the source, blocking connectivity

The first limitation of time, the second of space
Imprisoning us therein at a stuporous pace

Limitations of both doing & knowing
Limitation of our true limitless Self recognising

Now with this preamble
We nimbly amble
Simply by rejecting all limitations
As temporary or rather illusionary illusions
Our renunciation must be total & complete
Even as we are in fullness with bliss replete

We become empty within divine magnetised
In timeless time God is automatically realised

Premium MemberThe Bee

Yellow and black and not too fast
Whilst sniffing a flower The Bee ?? flew past
Gender unknown and nimble he was
Collecting pollen a must at any cause
Rainy or sunny cloudy or bright
The Bee ?? flying nimbly landing ever so light
Flowers and plants all sweetness was his
Sweeping in gently to give them a kiss
I proudly watched The Bee ?? from afar
Jealous and wishing that I was a fleur
To feel of his touch how gentle and light
No fear at all The Bee ?? would feel right.
