Lamplight

A crowded street has many ways
Some go to a dark dark place
You see it's greying eye of gravel
Other paths necessitate a shovel

Then theres your own
The sum of stones you've thrown
It's the million dollar street
Marbled in a golden sheet

Birthright of gold I did expect
Only my own to be correct
Thought it was a choice to select
A worse road simple neglect

What is your worth, magnum opus
Magnificent gold is my only focus
Did the road I paved deceive
Though by my own hands achieved

It is company that I grieve
Blinding light is my reprieve
Company enough for each sleeve
To hold tight and perceive

The bustling people
on the yellowed streets
Of life

Finally, my blood began to coagulate,
I really did not think this would eventuate.
But now there’s hope I will not exsanguinate,
because I feel my blood now hemagglutinate.

Remain in my blood vessels and just circulate
perfusing all my organs and accelerate
my wellbeing so I’ll not deteriorate
Instead, my condition will reinvigorate.

So, I will live another day to celebrate
the fact, that I should see another birthday date.
Not be a statistic for mortality rate
by bleeding to death, failing to resuscitate.

Please, let this be a lesson not to overstate
the survival secret one must not lacerate
an organ that could bleed out and necessitate
the need then for your blood to just coagulate

The first thought of her isn't so nice.
You must think of her at least twice.
Some must muse of her at least thrice,
and often, that doesn't suffice.
The fact is, she's as cold as ice.
But she's very much a part of life.
Relations may be both love and hate,
Causing both head and heartaches.
I neither love nor hate her and to be
really honest, I don't even like her.
I suppose 'lukewarm endurance' would best
describe our relationship, but realistically,
I have learned to accept her. Her season is not
one to happily anticipate. Her freezes force some to
hibernate like bears and also cause others to navigate.
like birds. She's valuable and that's no debate.
I survived 5 seasons of her in two northern states.
In a southern state, I will always remember the good
ice-cold snow cream we ate. But her chilling bone aches
were very difficult to take, forcing some inside and others
to necessitate an escape. Anyway, there's no denying how
We all differ. Some of us like it hot, and others like it cold.

Passing of Time

Caught up, time to exploit.
Hours to utilize, with what?
Jump into my time machine,
that’s what, give it free rein.

To the Blue mountain.
Swim in the pool with the boys
Make a good stroke or two,
then into the good book.

Now no particular place to go.
No particular agenda, plan to fill.
No particular good reason to,
just slip into the saddle an do.

Let my pony rear up, run wild
across a couple of empty hours.
Those moments slipped into twilight.
A snow white, almost full, moon hangs

low in a bright indigo sky.
Sitting along side the Pitt dyke.
Observe the moon crawl upwards,
to the south west across the shadowy

branches of a standing alone tree.
Helios having none of this moon
sets the south west horizon ablaze,
fire flickering among the trees, to see

while this one sits in the saddle
waiting, watching, time for supper.
A Wendy’s spicy chicken
will fill an empty space, in me, not time.

That would necessitate something spiritual.
Something intellectually stimulating.
Something that would express artistic flair.
Something that would bring one’s soul to light.

Ilman Wafi Ayash

Ilman, the name of my newborn son
Light of knowledge I asked from God
Manage to introspective movement
Allowing through my son's learning
Necessitate myself in the nib of truth

Whispering I’m every day to his ear
As if he will grow up according to wish
Fulfilling all roots of factual knowledge
Illuminating the insight with full peace

Abloom his birth moment on 19th July
Year 2022, at 3.15PM in local hospital
Abnormal way grasped the delivery
Shining the summer Tuesday happily
Hiding difficulties he was hailed simply

A Post-American, Post-liberal world order awaits us.
But what will it look like?
The general feeling that things will not be the same.
That’s right, it can never go back to what it was,
Because it is what it is now.
People are wishing for the good old days.
What was good about them?

As COVID-19 wreaks havoc around the world,
National and local governments,
Have taken charge in directing the fight,
Against this virus,
Which is by definition global and would necessitate,
Global action-one would imagine.

Politically I would think they would set
Politics aside and organize together,
Not fight against but together.
This pandemic cares not whether,
You are black or white, red or yellow,
No matter what color,
Or what kind of weather.
We must be together in this war,
There is no going back to the future,
It is gone.

We are not alone, on our own,
Let us all get on the phone,
Because God is always at home,
Hearing the call, whether right or wrong,
Called!

Sudden Journey

Many exit when covered, while others nake’
Some wish to leave, while others hesitate
When the latter comes, the former hides the face
The journey for brave, courage it necessitate’

The journey for combatants, the journey for all
The journey for chauffeurs, the journey for all
The journey for the inadequate, and the rich alike
When the day emanate, the past historical

When the gadgets play, all shall dance
The deaf the dumb, all shall dance
The journey for the adequate, and the rich alike
When the instruments play, all shall dance

The Long Road Back

THE LONG ROAD BACK

To “find” oneself is often the way
That folks from normalcy go astray.
They leave the comforts and routines of home,
In frivolities’ paths to wander and to roam.

The temptation there is so very alluring
It makes ones’ stay sometimes enduring.
There is always something new to try
That will cause you to eventually ask yourself why.

When finally you reach the end of that road,
And flounder and fret from the heavy load,
As in your haste alternatives are sought,
Perhaps where you left was not as bad as you thought.

To return there will necessitate swallowing your pride,
As you admit that the way you have tried
Was not as fulfilling as you thought it would be.
Now you must from it purposefully flee.

As you travel that lonely road back to your home,
Remember that you never travel alone.
A constant Companion is by your side,
He will forever there abide.

Winter

Now that the summer has gone
We now walk amidst colours of gold
 Through fields of anticipation
The prospect of imminent cold

With thoughts of burning peat fires
We crunch leaves as we walk
The chill is getting to us now
So we hasten as we talk

We walk heads bent against the wind
Hands snugly in the pockets
Collar turned to keep out the cold
Eyes watering in their sockets

Home is where we want to be
Out of the icy blast
But needs necessitate to be outside
Where the Antarctic spell is cast

The stacked corn awaits collection
Gulls ride the chilled waters
Dark clouds fill the sky
But the black swan falters

The wintry tempest plays its hand
Cattle shelter from its might
Barometer is falling fast
It’s going to be a bad night

Needing extra sleep 'cause
nodding off in day time.
Nestling on the couch or
nice and comfy on bed.
Not just for small children;
night owl activities
necessitate a nap.

Diaspora, Can'T Go Home

Diaspora that cant go home

Mum and Dad came on boats not grand
They left the sun behind
To the old country to lend a hand
replacing uncertainty and find
Prosperity, erase the poverty of native land
And we’ll send money back home.
They were met with sticks and stones
Were broken, not just their bones
Wogs and minstrels they were called
In Harsh winters and damp ghettos hauled,
unfamiliar foods and hapless children
Tears flowed inside and years out,
From broken ribs phlegm does spout
Husband’s and fathers ruled with fists
Paraffin fires took lives of kids
Benefits to small to feed and clothe
Necessitate a hustle to cope
And depression became the reward
Misery slapped hard onto every face
No pubs to ail our weary souls
This old country is a hard hard place
Welfare killed all dreams and hopes
Drugs and anecdotes became our lot
Newer immigrants got the jackpot
Penniless and broke, Too ashamed to go home
No riches to share, not welcomed, disowned.

My Daily Drawing Time

Days offer so much scope,
To lands unforeseen trope;
My stretch reckons my lilt,
To be my diadem and kilt.

Only black hair contends,
White face stilly commends;
Mundane navy blue t-shirt,
Cannot specify any dirt.

My creature pencils my air,
My feelings, sights and stare;
Blue scribblings necessitate,
My voice so consummate.

Long beige, neutral curtains,
Still the room which remains,
No matter how I express,
My happiness or distress.

Thinking of You

Transitioning to a state of indifference to you
Fading out of desperation
Something in me has been reawakened
That I had thought long snuffed out

She makes me feel something other than guilty
Takes me away from overthinking
So forgive me, if my smiles no longer necessitate
Thinking of you

Marriage and Friendship

Goal of life is one, that is to live
with comfort and happiness.
Goal of marriage is one, to give
to the other partner love and bliss.

Love does not necessitate marriage
but marriage compels to love.
And for marriage and friendship both
love is certainly a must .

Love is the force of attraction
marriage is force of togetherness.
Marriage is string of love with
socio-legal force to keep attached.

Friendship is a vow to go together,
marriage is a vow to live in unison.
Friend is person who gives the best,
who gives all, spouse is the person.

Sometimes the situation may arise
a person may be poor and un-attractive;
May not be loved by any one
but may be best for good friendship.

Friendship is a tie of relationship
that has to go together, the way long.
Marriage is strongest tie of friendship
that has to long for the life long.
