Ne Plus Ultra Poems | Examples

Political Prose

Liberals make mistakes; Conservatives
Prevent corrections. Precedents in stone
Subvert enduring solutions. Perhaps
Because the opposing ideals are awry,
Askew? No! The two are ne plus ultra.
It's Man that's flawed with hatred, greed and pride
That clouds his ability to govern
And wind up diametrically opposed.
Is there a permanent resolution?
I hardly think so. Why? Man has fallen
From grace and left him with an imperfect
Nature. Doomed to bungle, fumble and whine.
So what can we do? Choose up sides, of course,
And start the game without a referee.

Blind Walls

Icons of evolution and
loud men made a circle
of nihility, leaping high,
splashing the black perfume.
Nicotine reclaimed ne plus ultra.
Lurching thrusts reached nowhere.
Dirty fingers held the prosperity.

The dialogue of root
and earth started a nameless fire.
Hunger stunned the leaves,
brutalized by unmanaged truths.
The sting operated in dark.
Let going the lights,
phantoms were starving.
I saw my face for the first time.

I accept my responsibility
for closed drapes.
Doors were banging in terror
and there were sparks on the roof.
The blind walls squirmed.
It was time for your roadmap
to show the lines,
sign the winds.

Ne Plus Ultra

Ne plus ultra

How do you write about an Epic love?
A love that eclipses time.
Is that possible anymore?

What about a love so Hurculean
so potent that mountains crumble before it,
with kisses that exhaust the heavens?

I want to tell the world how it feels
when your skillful hand is on my head
bringing me in for another kiss.

Your eyes take possession of my soul.
With a look you have stolen me from the world.
Our faces close, feeling your breath on my lips.
Knowing that in a moment we will be entwined.

Passersby will be unable to tell one of us from the other,
as our lips gently brush
in the parting of your mouth.

Estuaries meshing into one.
One body,
one heart,
one soul,
in our ne plus ultra love.
Our ultimate perfect love.
