Political Prose

Liberals make mistakes; Conservatives
Prevent corrections. Precedents in stone
Subvert enduring solutions. Perhaps
Because the opposing ideals are awry,
Askew? No! The two are ne plus ultra.
It's Man that's flawed with hatred, greed and pride
That clouds his ability to govern
And wind up diametrically opposed.
Is there a permanent resolution?
I hardly think so. Why? Man has fallen
From grace and left him with an imperfect
Nature. Doomed to bungle, fumble and whine.
So what can we do? Choose up sides, of course,
And start the game without a referee.
