Premium Member Which Blue Is True

Blue is the color of the sky and the sea on a sunny day
Blue skies are skies that are ripe for sailors and for sailing, and
we all wonder what's at the bottom of the beautiful 'deep, blue sea'

Blue is the color of the 'blues,' a uniquely American musical style
one that originated in the context of a hard-scrabble existence
be it in the coal mines of Appalachia, the cotton fields of the South
or the concrete jungle ghettos of New York City and Chicago

This blue has even sneaked into our holidays: Elvis had a 'blue, blue
blue Christmas' -- hubba, hubba; and it is the color in one of the lines
of perhaps the most often recited, well-known American poem ever:
'Roses are red / Violets are blue...' even though they're usually purple

All of which begs the question: Which blue is true? Is it
positive or negative? Is it the beautiful sky and sea blue
or is it the blue of no job and no hope? Perhaps the answer
is that it's both, as Richard Farina once put it so succinctly:

'Been down (blue) so long that it looks like up (blue) to me'

Premium Member Within Her Song

Her musical style may have been avant - garde
But her sad songs left ennui emotions and hearts scarred

When she found herself within the lyrics of her song
Her romantic elan diminished before long

She had given him carte blanche to her heart
But soon, a deja vu of broken dreams it did impart

She thought that his love was bona fide
But deep within an anomaly did reside

A cacophony of musical notes echoed across baroque structures
Where love's melody was but a dilettante allure
                              ~

Premium Member Moody Blues

This English band has been around for half a century.
Despite personnel changes, they maintain popularity.
Their musical style internationally has won many hearts.
Singles and albums have gone up on charts.
They have performed concerts all over the world.
Everyone loves them no matter which flag is unfurled.
Rock and classical music make wonderful combinations.
Shows usually end with standing ovations.
The band is still going strong up to today.
Be sure to see this group wherever they play.

Beethoven

Blessed is the world because of Beethoven's music.
Escaping pain, he played piano for his father.
Enduring, to avoid the wrath of the nightstick,
Transforming musical style; never mediocre.
Hopelessly in love with his “Immortal Beloved”
Overtaken by deafness, he composed with fervor.
Victorious, despite disability…patience.
Evermore an eccentric, music played in his head.
Never quitting, he immortalized perseverance.

Abhor or adore
Musical style,
To some it comes easy
Others awhile.
Organic food
A matter of taste,
Like given talent
A pity to waste.
Considered tacky
Modernist denial
Romantic’s inspiration
Luring women for miles.
Four seasons the weather
Plenty to choose,
What to wear
How to use.
Preference in my luggage
Deconstructing my write
Or writing in Rhyme
All day and all night.
