I thought about you all last night
In restful, dreamy sleep
We held each other oh so tight
And spoke of things too deep
To discuss here in this poem
Sufficient though to say
That they were things that spoke of love
And waiting for the day

An
echo
of delight-
harmonic
minds
in
flight,
meet in
unison to
write
and
create
ekphrasis
from another's
sight.

like a branch
in winter's wrath
weighted down
pale and bare
ready to snap
coming undone
drooping
downward
numb
to touch
then the sun
smiles
on you
the warmth
melts your heart
just enough
to lift you
back up
even if only
until the next
blizzard comes
and burdens you
again you are free
momentarily

momentarily
out of range
of the emotional
single
to the direct line
to the heart
of the matter
can't seem to find a
tower
there dose not
seem to be
any service
at all
the bars are almost
none existent
now
the battery
is all but drained
of it's emotional
charge

Momentarily
By Franklin Price
8/13/2105
Momentarily I thought
I feel sorry now for me
Then in another moment asked
How selfish can I be?
I'm having quite an issue
With some cancers of the skin
Doctors scrape and cut on me
On the outside not on in
A little inconvenience
Some bandages and pain
A little scarring here and there
But mostly whole again
Haven't lost an arm or leg
A colon or a lung
Still can climb a ladder
And move from rung to rung
More fortunate than others
In radiation therapy
With chemo in addition
I was there once so you see
I'm grateful now for where I am
That I'm not there again
No cancer on the inside
But lesser cancers of the skin
Must take care of everything
That bears the cancer name
Never know which one could be
The ending of the game
Know that God is with me
Through each and every bout
By himself not cure everything
Has doctors here for helping out

A tear is shed momentarily
It falls from a closed eyelid
Descends towards
the concrete ground
with rapid speed
And splatters into
a splotched shape
A second tear
descends down the
cheek but is quickly
wiped away with
a damp sleeve.

I wander but some say I roam
Travelling myriad mazes
For home.
When pillared pathways
Lead to love cold
I ascend the stairway stars
That unfold
From my miring mind
Momentarily
Dwelling where clouds hold my slumber
And skies hold my dreams.

Lazily I lay in the field atop a hill
Spread like I am making a snow angel
Watching the sun yield to the clouds
Feeling the wind taking opposition to the heat
My loyal companion resting at my feet
If time could be frozen
Then this moment might be chosen
In a way I am glad time doesn’t stand still
For a better moment may arise
Even though I don’t think it will
There can be no joy in compromise

Was it the tears you drove?
To my heart midst this storm
the sudden urgency rushed
me and my heartbeats increased.
I ceased to recognize the surroundings.
While my thoughts whirled in extended
poundings.
Thunder barreled like a lovers lost
cry one trying to reach the other.
The storm passed and skies were blushed
with sigh rosy colors once more.
Waves of calm like on a shore rushed
gently over me.
Your presence was all around
gently touching my soul.
I was caught in a second the passion
I felt and was momentarily struck
by the awareness of you.
