it was just …
a look
one …
it was my reaction you saw -
a recoil
emotional … untethered
it wilted, blue
in louvered columns of moonlite
long before it bloomed
but you plucked it anyway
one petal at a time
a wish on each
for my annihilation and doom …
but my ruin was long ago
your eyes
whispering me
a breeze through the cedars -
gravity to a sparrow -
first gaze and on
I was done …
now
for sake of my fool’s song
and a glance
we’ll never know …
what might’ve been.

cry
in the
privacy
of your sad thoughts
behind louvered blinds
till pain wanes…then
wipe away
your tears:
smile

Afternoon Silence
By WinkofHeart (a.k.a. Brett Somers)
Whisper of the wind outside
Whisper of the wind within
A pause on Mother clock
To breathe it all in
Steady chirps beyond my window
The busyness has dimmed
Crests of light cross louvered shutters
Letting light into my heart
This moment
Allowing it to be
Fully awakening
Calm, assurance
Yes, yes, this is living
Sleepless ... tossed like pillows, our sleep number slumber
so sweetly disturbed ... pretzel limbs, twisted soft and warm ...
we tear torrid tunnels through Egyptian cotton ...
Swimming, deep, the louvered moonbeams, properly peeled
and cologned-to-taste ... hot-striped like a naughty tiger,
(from your almond nails) ...
A fire on my skin inflames to the core, mouth-to-flesh-to-mouth ...
manic handfuls, served al dente' ... your tangy, sticky-sweet nectar,
we share like an aged and smoky bourbon ...
Mixed in our kiss with your herbal tresses, imbibed as a potion,
sublime ... we flail our forms, frantic - thoughts, flavors, feelings,
urges, curves, wants ...
Swirled in a moonlit concoction, aflame ... tumbling and surging
together, a single sultry beast, with but one selfish design ...
abandon.

Through the louvered window
The moonlight slips in furtively
Barring her flawless suntanned skin
Musky fragrance pervades the air
Stirring the mind with anticipation
Mellow sensual intoxication.

The early dawn on the Western Isles allures me to awaken early
A pinky red kaleidoscope attracts me through louvered panels
Towards the windows I walk as if taking steps on a lava ladder
Slowly my open eyes are met with the most beautiful vista
Am Binnean Dearg, the Red Cuillin, appears as if erupting
The suns morning crescent peeks as if in slow motion rise
Pinked clouds in drift capture and enhance through their vapours
Solitude abounds in this most remote of places on Skye
I sit in trance and marvel at the changing as the hours pass
There's love in my eyes seeing what I see for our tomorrows and eternity
The morning now grows into the day as pink pastel blooms fade
Crisp azures now caress and absorb the morns beauty
