Premium Member The Receipt

They walked into the bookstore…a young girl and her mother
and as they browsed throughout the store they held hands with one another.

I love the innocence of the young for wherever they chose to look
The little girl asked, “Mom can I have this puzzle…Mom, can I have this book.”

She asked for every book she saw…everything under the sun
and after negotiating for a while…they narrowed it down to one.

When they arrived at the counter they were smiling…still holding hands with one another…they held in their other hands two books…one for the little girl…one for the mother.

I rang them up and I asked the mother, as I always do, when they were ready to go
if she wanted a receipt to which she smiled and answered…”No”.

But then the little girl spoke up…in a voice both innocent and sweet
“If it’s okay with you” she asked, “could I have the receipt?”

“Certainly.” I said as I watched the smiles on their faces unfurl
when I handed the two books to the mother and the receipt to the little girl.

What a wonderful moment for me…what a wonderful treat…
as I watched that little girl smile while repeating….“This is my very first receipt.”

The mother smiled at her daughter then glanced back and gave me a look
“She seems more excited about the receipt,” she said,
“than she is about her book.”

And I had to smile as immediately my brain turned back all my internal clocks
to a time when we bought our son the perfect birthday present
and that present spent the day untouched while he played inside the box.

I hope some day this memory will stir…perhaps triggered by someone they meet…
of the time her mother bought her a book…but all she wanted was the receipt.

Hooked

He took almost everything he brought to
Or ever bought in nine years
It's hard to remember what is whose.

He may have forgotten the cactus in the den
	with its big pulpy stalk,
Was the first gift he sent me,
The one that fell on the receptionist at the office,
Leaking a white ooze from its injury,
And she a red one from hers,
	because he took it.
And my birthday lamp, too.
He took it.

I'm liquidating what's left,
and even though I love that maple table,
I'll have to let it go.
There won't be room in my smaller place.

I want to press my cheek against its cool shiny
Smoothness and smell the wood one last time,
But my daughter already feels guilty enough
For the fight they had
The final one, the reason she thinks he left.

So Goodbye, I say, to each piece of the puzzle,
Unraveling the years like so much yarn.
Stepping out now into uncertainty,
I'm hoping the universe opens up to
Fill this void with something other
Than what I have filled it with too quickly in the past.

That's how they get you, you know
With that great wonderful hook.

Spring Time

All the trees are blossoming
Those daffodils looking bright
The sun is shining in the sky
It must be spring time

And all the birds are singing
Sweet music to my ears
In the early morning sunshine
Summer must be near

I’ve been waiting for this summer
For the sun to show her face
Goodbye winter blues
Heat waves are on the way

When I glance around at spring time
There’s beauty everywhere
I have visions of the seashores
Smell that lovely fresh sea air

I see lovers walking hand in hand
Making holiday plans
They’ll be trips to the fun fairs
Lots of laughter on the sands

Everything seems to blossom
At this wonderful time
Clear blue skies and sunshine
It must be spring time

I Wish You

I wish for you to remain a bright and shining light
full in the embrace of love
and comforted by those that have gone ahead and
those yet to follow...

I wish for you that you have the chance to dance with the dolphins
to be at play with them as they swirl and jump
within the freedom that allows them to
express the joy that radiates outwards...

I wish for you that you find the peace of mind that stays
and the courage to stay true to your path in endless ways
so that one day you will wake up to find you
have it all
and
what's more
you have more than answered the call-

I wish for you the sun and the moon
and each lovely season as they rotate around
in tune as is a symphony
that plays a wonderful rendition of an "ode to joy'

And last but not least, I wish you the image of a child's smile
and a little giggle to keep you warm inside for awhile
for it is the purest of experiences that
will help you see
what it means to be human
and simply what it means just to be.

Premium Member Angel Eyes Loving You Forever

Always a dream as the stars wink and smile
Never ending beauty shines picture perfect
Gifted when the moon smiles silver waves
Endless pleasure in a breath of wind sweet
Love blowing goodnight wishes to Heaven

Everlasting happiness sings with such elation
You bring joy when echoes fall silent smiling
Eyes of emotions sparkle golden warm kisses
Sweetly the sun kisses a new day with you

Longing for your passionate caress everyday
Oxygen needed to calm me down as we touch
Vivacious you are My Sweet always on my mind
In love always everyday with you my Dearest One
Never ever wanting to leave your side at all
Great things in abundance result from our love

You are simply the most wonderful person to me
Our love is a mutual bond that binds us together
Unique signifies the nature of our love My Sweet

First always you are in my heart and soul My Love
Our love, desire, and passion are boundless always
Ready always to take you in my arms Dearest One
Ever precious you are as my true love and soulmate
Very intent and passionate always when thinking of us
Ever present we are now in each other’s life My Love
Remembering the love we share forever always one

Dreamland

Where do we go when we go to sleep,
Some say to a ‘mind made’ land,
But I feel that we’re drawn from our bodies at night
To a place that our souls understand.

Maybe we need a refreshment of kind,
Relief from our bodily stand
And only in trance can tranquillity find
As we glide through our ‘slumbering’ land.

Sometimes we remember what dreams we have seen
Or so we believe when we wake,
But nobody knows where our minds travel to
Or the pathways our journey did take.

But I know that my sleep renews body and soul
So I’m certain as certain can be,
I must have been somewhere with glorious power
To replenish the ‘life force’ in me.

So maybe while sleeping we all return home
To the place where all people are free
And bathe in the pool of the essence of life,
Yes, drift in its wonderful sea.

No wonder our thoughts are all lost by the morn’
With eons of memories entwined.
We’re drunk on the pleasures of millions of souls,
On everyone’s lives we have dined.

Now I think that our ‘living’, has part in this feast,
We’re all here to gather the vine.
And when we return to our essence at last
Our lives should have sweetened the wine.

By the Fire

An autumn pallet of colors so bright
Makes my heart sing with delight
When the weather gets cooler,
And the nights are so much darker
I dream of sitting with you by the fire

Crisp is the fall air that carries the scents
The perfume of summer long since spent
When the weather was much warmer
And the days were so much longer
I dream of you sitting with me by the fire

Gray days, cold and bundled in warm sweaters
Cheeks and hair kissed by the wind unfettered
Promise of holidays, families together
And the days will be so much more festive
I dream of holding you close by the fire

Apples and spices and tastes rich with the fall
Promise of snow and ice underlying it all
Then the nights will be bitter and cold
And the last of the year will turn sullen and old
But I dream of the warmth of your body by the fire

Leaves bright, and painted and beautiful decorating the trees
Gladdens the heart, opens the senses, emotions it frees
Each morning it dawns clean and exciting
And the autumn of the year becomes more enticing
As I dream of your eyes reflecting the light of the fire

You are to me, a beautiful gift, reminding me of what I gained
Mostly the good, the wonderful and sometimes of the pain
When I first met you, on the path of my life
And the journey we take, together tonight
As you feel my heart beat to the heat of the fire

An artist’s pallet can not capture the autumn colors
Of the changing seasons or the harvest moon’s pallor
The nights will be cold and the days much shorter
And I look forward to spring days on the horizon
As we hold each other’s souls in the flames of the fire.

Wems Henry Temmy Psalm 8

Blue sky has an array of loyalty to Thy paints
which loose my eyes closed for a remark
out of the lost marks in memory of saints
whose feint sins shine through graceful spark
plugged to the sizzling hour so just

As cool as the sounds of snow
The angels' trumpets' sounds blow
Anew like different nature's show
How great Thou are in every of Your new flow!

We enjoy every bit of the nature's awesome change
Wonderful is the mystery of its clouded exchange

Red sky is a zone of bloody shepherds
who are keeping up fights to save their sheep
without any form of fear in obsession of leopards
in a wide dreamland with opened eyes in sleep
actions of who are fair though defensively seem unjust

As cool as the sounds of snow
The angels' trumpets' sounds blow
Anew like different nature's show
How great Thou are in every of Your new flow!

We enjoy every bit of the nature's awesome change
Wonderful is the mystery of its clouded exchange

Starless sky is a grown merry hour for children
sitting round around grey and hairy words
under the lonely moonshine of fearless den
listening to the different sounds of the distant birds
reputation and humanity are built in this chain
with so many values and heritage to gain

As cool as the sounds of snow
The angels' trumpets' sounds blow
Anew like different nature's show
How great Thou are in every of Your new flow!

We enjoy every bit of the nature's awesome change
Wonderful is the mystery of its clouded exchange

Dim stars sky keeps love bleeding in pure aroma
of gentle skin in romance with soft blowing digits
colors and light are often static in coma
within unconsciousness of no class between midgets
for no one is head or the boss in charge to control
the breeze determining at a time bearing of each soul

As cool as the sounds of snow
The angels' trumpets' sounds blow
Anew like different nature's show
How great Thou are in every of Your new flow!

We enjoy every bit of the nature's awesome change
Wonderful is the mystery of its clouded exchange

The Storm

The Storm

The cold, salt spray bit at my face,
As I walked alone in the sand,
And the dashing waves stoe my footprints;
As they raced upon the land.

The sky was dark and awesome;
As ever a sky could be;
And the mighty roaring tempest,
Shared a wonderful song with me.

It sang of an all-loving Father,
Who created both it and me;
And I joined that glorious chorus,
I shared that song with the sea.

A thunderous shout rose above me,
Wild as a lion in his lair.
And the lightning wrote of his glory;
As the wind tore away at my hair.

I praise my Great God for his Greatness;
I am glad I am one of his own.
If the glory of God is stupendus;
What about Heaven, our home?

Premium Member May Love Forever Burn Brightly

Friendships are made, friendships are broken
But the friendships here on the site
Are as strong as any that have ever existed
Unencumbered by outside influences
They thrive in an atmosphere of a common language
That of love, compassion, and joy
In the knowledge there are still loving souls out there
Amid the turmoil that exists in the world
Wars have been fought since the beginning of time
They have always been part of the human condition
This desire to be king of the hill
Starts early on with childhood interaction
Bullies trying to prove their superiority by strength
But their strength is usually only physical
There is also a strength of character
Which the so-called meek of the earth possess
That is stronger than physical strength
Strength of character is the strength I describe
Those that possess it often go on to great success
If their fire within is allowed to burn brightly
So let the friendships here on this site
Burn brightly with the love of the written word
The words in rhyme that communicate
A love of our fellow inhabitants
Of this wonderful site and this wonderful world
We call Earth!
