Premium Member HEART THAT VOWS SINCERELY UNTO GOD

July 25 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on Ecclesiastes 5-8

Key Verse – Ecclesiastes 5:4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

HEART THAT VOWS SINCERELY UNTO GOD

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His spiritual policies
Despite destructive acts of jealousies
So that we can delight in His Word’s delicacies
Really assured of His secured salvation-mercies.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His Biblical instructions
Despite fretting doubts and vexations
So that we can trust in His promises’ actions
Really guarded by His eternal redemption-functions.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His triumphant wins
Despite worldliness promoting humanism-dins and pride-gins
So that we can ask for His strength-packed bins
Really loaded by His divine healthy well-being vitamins.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His steadfast settlements
Despite weariness that shakes our faith-establishments
So that we can enjoy His abounding bestowments
Really taught by His wise directive-endowments.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His heavenly fillings
Despite earthly leisure of temporary satisfaction feelings
So that we can stay around His grace-fulfillings
Really contented with His constant goodness-fuelings.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His nourishing deals
Despite human nature-weakness of carnality-appeals
So that we can choose His spirit-revival zeals
Really nurtured upon His compassion-seals.

Our heart vows sincerely unto God by His virtuous supplies
Despite scarcity and poverty crises-lies
So that we can seek His welfare-care replies
Really treated within His abundant benefit-slice.

Cerebellum's Synaptic Soiree

Lifted lightly from familiarity
Sleep's gesture caresses cells
Taken to nearby bewilderment
Where stagnancy busily dwells

Liquid lambent shooting star forms fragment
Vapid vexations vanquished in fantasy's fire
Mist masked span transcends measurement
Vision's fusion surpasses language quagmire

Imprisoned waking cognition
held in category's secure structure
Dispelled impediments crash cascade
preceding sleep's redeeming tenure

Ignited sizzling spiral whimsical continuum
Themes undulate with kiss and chase thrill
Trauma's feather sinks, treasure 's stone floats
Detached components reconcile at will

Dream chariot leaps easily
Obliges unassuming passenger
uncover unique anecdote
Intriguing as a stranger

Driven chivalrously soaring splendidly, lured enticingly
Revelling in brain' s carried captivation sole function
Travelling happens spontaneously without momentum
Contented centre offers converging clock hands junction

Revelations ripple, expanding truth
Roller coaster riding outside reality
Symbol's eventual meaningful messages
rise as a halo, impartial to gravity

Reason's region, sensible staid evades taboo
Indetectibly dilating pineal stillness vibrates
Untouched pastures in sleep domain permit oblivious
From fences of accepted, dream's newborn liberates

Catapulted!

Conscious corners sent as envelope ratified
deliver obvious, wafting surreal's torment
Clumsy clambering of mind identified
hankers for hibernation's brief dormant

Premium Member Mind of the Heart

Line of inquiry:
“feeling not thinking, soul with love linking ~
we attained God consciousness unblinking”

The heart that pulsates within, we can touch and feel
Mind, unlike heart is an entity invisible, but can feel and heal.

It is a secret domain where resides qualities like love and hope,
Not tangible, can’t be seen even through a Laparoscope.

A thinking heart may endlessly reason and debate
But a feeling mind is one where love and empathy conjugate

An ideal man is not one whose heart is made of flint like stone
But a man with an intuitive mind, repentant and is ready to atone

He can sense the suffering of others, their joys and strife.
Through his empathy and compassion, he enriches life.

He may openly show his vulnerability to cry and mourn.
But know, it is within a feeling heart that love breeds and is born.

He holds on tenaciously to the faintest glimmer of hope
Finding ways to stay firm and in every situation, ready to cope.

He is able to handle things before his heart starts violently beating,
With hopes of fresh tomorrows and new innings, awaiting.

Life, being a never- ending tortuous and hazardous journey,
Through curves and bumps, God guides. He alone is our attorney.

When our soul is linked with love, we scale the heights to God’s presence,
With heart and mind integration and beatitude, feeling His essence.

To God’s Consciousness, when our mind thus rises weightless and pure,
In that moment, we feel truly blest, and from all vexations find cure.

Premium Member Sister Smythe's Nativity Pageant

It was approved by the Session and duly recorded by the Clerk
That the youth would perform the Nativity Play at the Presbyterian Kirk.
'Twas further resolved that Sister Smythe, who had a proclivity
For curious creativity, would again manage this annual activity!

Venerable Sister Smythe had staged the event since time immemorial,
But, alas, could be quite testy and at times rather dictatorial!
Generations of kids had acted in this solemn yearly affair.
Now their kids suffered beneath her stern, withering glare!

Stage-struck moms maneuvered above and around each other,
Boosting their little darling for the role of The Holy Mother!
Sister Smythe made her selection after a grilling examination.
Alas, the little lass forgot her lines to Sister Smythe's consternation!

The lad playing Joseph was found asleep and missed his cue.
Two of the Wise Men tripped and sprawled, spoiling their debut!
Kids dressed as sheep sounded like braying mules from sounds they did emit.
This caused the harried Sister Smythe another thundering snit!

Poor Sister Smythe lay abed a couple of weeks to recover,
As solicitous Session members around her did pray and hover.
Despite the vexations, she'll rule again next year - she'll survive,
To shepherd other kids to make the Christmas Story come alive!

Premium Member HEART THAT STRIVES TO SPEAK WHAT GOD SAYS

May 15 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on 2Chronicles 18-20

Key Verse – 2Chronicles 18:13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

HEART THAT STRIVES TO SPEAK WHAT GOD SAYS

Our heart strives to speak what God says against sinking in sins’ deep mire
Since He never lets our souls to suffer in hell’s fire
Because He loves us with His compassion that does not tire
Helping us in our lack of holiness that He does require and desire.

Our heart speaks what God says against thriving submission-reluctance
Since He never degrades our sincerity in showing our repentance
Because He cares for us midst fellowship’s intimacy, not from a distance
Helping us in our frustration over absence of faith’s substance.

Our heart strives to speak what God says against wearying foolishness
Since He never turns our search for His wisdom’s purposiveness
Because He teaches us by His Scriptural instruction-effectiveness
Helping us in our unbelief’s stubbornness midst ignorance-perilousness.

Our heart strives to speak what God says against overflowing hardship
Since He never undermines our prayer in our service-stewardship
Because He upholds us in His offered labor-partnership
Helping us in our inconsistency in surrendering to His workmanship.

Our heart strives to speak what God says against confounding reproaches
Since He never insults our humility with condemning searches
Because He regards us and our frailty-crutches
Helping us in our vain hunches along blinking selfishness-torches.

Our heart strives to speak what God says against attacking adversaries
Since He never pushes our choices into destruction-set territories
Because He guards us by His protective miracles’ mysteries
Helping us in our doubts’ vexations and needfulness’ worries.

Our heart strives to speak what God says against lingering pride
Since He never favours our arrogance that false modesty does hide
Because He knows what is best for us with His perfection-side
Helping us in our testimony to exalt Him for He is our eternal Guide.

Malaphorisms, or, Sayings Unsaid

We grew up with aphorisms--
Pithy, witty observations;
Some may only be sophisms
That were passed through generations.

Old but not anachronisms,
They’re still true in many nations.
They have kept their witticisms
And established strong foundations.

As I’m fond of verbalisms,
I have made some alterations,
I call them malaphorisms,
Please take them without vexations:

1. A bird in the hand is worth … the same in the other hand.
2. Birds of the same feather … belong to the same species.
3. Do not put off for tomorrow what you can … put off for the day after tomorrow.
4. Two heads are better than … none.
5. If there’s a will, there’s a … future tense.
6. Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell …. them who you are.
7. A tree is known by its fruit … unless you don’t know the fruit, either.
8. The grass is always greener on the other side … where the dog’s pee doesn’t reach.
9. A picture is worth a thousand … dollars, or, it depends on the artist.
10. Better late than … later.
11. All work and no play makes Jack …, or anyone, exhausted.
12. Fools rush in where … there is no need to rush.
13. If others can, … let them do it.
14. One man’s meat is … not enough for two.
15. Time and tide … start with t- and end with -e.

Premium Member Knight of the Road

He's rode the rods from California to the state of Maine.
Long ago he rejected ordinary life with absolute disdain!
He loves the gypsies' life - he craves neither hearth or dwellin'.
Where he'll lay his head tonight, there just ain't no tellin'!

He travels in boxcars with bums and thieves eludin' the 'bulls',
That bane of tramps who'd just as soon bash their skulls!
He cares not one tittle about its routin' nor final destination.
Shucks! To him it's another all-expenses paid vacation!

He may choose to visit Florida to enjoy its balmy breezes,
Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin or anywhere he pleases!
He'll need some cash, though steady work ain't his style,
So he may head to Oregon to pick apples for a while!

He'll stop here and there for a repast of hobo jungle stew,
Addin' cadged onions and taters to that pungent brew.
On his bourne he'll look for hobo signs on every gate and pole,
That might mean beans and bread from some charitable soul!

He gladly forsook the vexations of a drab and mundane life.
Ain't no way he'll be saddled with bills and a shrewish wife!
He's content to abide by the hobo's uncomplicated code,
This free roamin' vagabond, this hardy Knight of the Road!

Premium Member Vexations!

Things happen today that didn't vex me when I was young.
Seems as I advance in years I can hardly rein my tongue!
Lord, I can't imagine that it's patience that I lack,
But I want things done yesterday, and that's a truthful fac'!

The plumber promised she'd be here Tuesday of last week.
She ain't showed up yet to fix that confounded leak!
The kid who vowed he'd mow the lawn has failed to appear.
He's probably playing computer games and guzzling beer!

The phone is on the fritz and I called about that today.
They'll come tomorrow, or at least that's what they say.
My bewildering computer has developed a baffling quirk,
And I need it to write a poem! I'm about to go berserk!

Alas, the electricity failed just as the super-bowl game starts.
Utilities says it can't be fixed 'til morning due to lack of parts.
My luggage was lost - a great way to start an ocean cruise!
What am I to do, sans my tux and an extra pair of shoes!

Maybe the pace o' living is finally catching up with me.
Lord, why can't other fellers get in step with me is my plea!
I need Your help for deliverance from this grim perdition.
'Twould simplify my life and certainly improve my disposition!

Premium Member Come and See

At the Eastern fringe of the horizon,
as the sun emerges from beyond the lofty summit,
cutting darkness with his piercing lance,
when the earth lies half awake beneath the looming azure sky,
I part my curtains and look out into my garden.

Beneath the sun’s cascading rays of light
I see leaves of ferns unfurl in wonderment
and buds of morning glory blossom in delight.
When dew drops glisten on rose petals
like gems of amethyst or topaz or quartz
and bees shuttle back and forth
carrying on their tiny legs, the cargo of pollen,
I am tempted to get out of my room.

Before day advances and begins to rush on wheels,
at dawns first light, I love to stroll through my garden.
This is the time for me to relax and make myself free
Oh, what sweet serenity, I then feel inside!

When I laze through the rows of flowering plants,
where beauty and fragrance co- exist,
I fall in love with the bliss filled hours
and my mind gets lost in the glory of God’s creation.

When I am in the company of the swinging and swaying blooms.
I love to listen to their slight ruffle and soft murmurs
as they rub against each other in wafting breeze.
It is in moments like these that my heart sings songs of joy
and I feel the breath of spring puffing up my lungs.

On such moments, ripples of joy bloom and burst within.
This is the time, I find a respite from life’s vexations
and inhale peace and exhale tension…!
What bliss! Oh! Come and see!

Premium Member My God, Thank You For Causing Me To Rest

March 5 Scripture Meditations Based on 2Samuel 5-8

Key Verse – 2Samuel 7:11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies…

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR CAUSING ME TO REST

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your peacefulness
When I’m overwhelmed with pressures’ heaviness
And filled by vexations’ irritableness---
I need Your presence of divine blissfulness.

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your instruction
When I’m gripped with persecution
And attacked by temptation---
I need Your deliverance of saving restoration.

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your authority
When I’m confused with doubts as well as falsity
And troubled by uncertainty---
I need Your assurance of steadfast security.

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your might
When I’m debilitated with sickness’ blight
And weakened by sin’s infectious bite---
I need Your touch of healing right.

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your comfort
When I’m saddened with vain results in my effort
And depressed by jeer instead of cheer consort---
I need Your compassion of caring resort.

Thank You for causing me to rest in Your merriment
When I’m humiliated with hypocrisy’s discontentment
And abased by self-glorification’s entanglement---
I need Your pardon of joyful fulfillment.
