And here we are... Good morning
For joy comes in the morning
In case you are wondering who I brought
I brought God, for He is with us through it all
Good Morning, Lord.
Thank You for this day.
Let me spend this day with You;
At work and e'en at play.
Be my close companion, Lord,
And not just for today,
But keep Thee close beside me,
That I won't lose my way.
I am weak and often find,
I'm tempted Lord, to stray;
To do things that displease You,
And make You turn away.
I don't wish to be embarrassed,
Whene'er You look at me.
Cleanse me Lord, of sin and shame,
That I may be set free;
Free from anger, hate and lust,
From greed and jealousy,
That I will be found pleasing,
Whene'er You look at me.
Remove from deep within my heart,
The fear residing there,
That I may walk with head held high,
And never have a care;
For You, My Lord, are judge of all,
And You know me far better,
Than anyone can know me, Lord.
Twas You who cut my fetters.
Now let Your angel guard me,
And guide me straight to You,
And let the trail I leave behind,
To be found straight and true.
I wish to be Thy servant.
I wish to serve none other.
Show me how to do this best,
And help me teach my brothers.
Jim Stokes is at the Memphis Zoo.
He’s been assigned to interview
a Southern copperhead. A few
have scared him s _ _ _ less in the past.
Thank God this one’s behind thick glass!
Jim: Good, morning, Mr. Copperhead.
Snake: It’s Missss. Welcome to my abode.
Jim: You’re coiled as if to strike out. Why?
I haven’t come to taunt or goad!
Snake: I’m used to being in strike mode.
Jim: How do you feel about your—uh, room?
Do you ever feel mistreated
or deprived in that little tomb?
Snake: Cheesh! Now you’ve made me feel cheated.
Till you came, I never felt defeated!
Jim: Sorry. Why not completely uncoil?
Wouldn’t that feel good for a change?
Snake: Your taunting makes my cold blood boil.
This interview is really strange.
I’ll uncoil if my freedom you arrange!
Jim: How unrealistic can you be?
I’m scared of you old wicked snakes.
Snake: (It strikes the glass) If I get free,
I’ll find you even if it takes
ten years. You know, glass sometimes breaks!

Friday the Thirteenth
By Franklin Price
12/13/2019
Today's another Friday
The thirteenth is its date
Some say that its unlucky
Should take care at any rate
Don't walk under any ladders
Don't let black cats cross your way
If you find a penny, pick it up,
When traveling today
Don't break any mirrors
It's bad luck for seven years
Carry 'round a rabbit's foot
To help allay your fears
The Devil's sign is 666
Bad luck some people say
If you see it, knock on wood
And all will be okay
Cross your fingers, make a wish
Good luck will follow you
If you think, before you act
You'll have good fortune too
FYI
If you want to plan ahead
And superstition is your tune
When a month begins on Sunday,
Friday the thirteenth, coming soon.
If you're counting down to Christmas,
From today it's number one,
I wish you happy holidays
May all your days be fun
Sunbeams flood into my room like a tide on the rise creeping in.
Woe betide me be, wet or dry, warm or cold, enlightened or beam blighted.
Dawn bears beams of revelations, comings and goings, flotsam and jetsam,
Some floating, others dissolved, suspended, dragging in sentiment grains of sand.
Behold sea, what betides in seeps you oozed in?
Seconds or first, ticks or crosses, daze lost, or minutes expanded?
Wins or losses, deposits or payments, credit or bills, older but deeper in debt or bathing in clover?
Will forget-me-knot bloom, rose petals fall off, buds pop open or dead-heads drop down?
Who will call by, drop in, blow in, come in, arrive on door step, or be shown the door with good riddance and boot?
What will the postie deliver, inbox spew up, or social media blurt outs in entrails of you-have-mail?
Will you step up, step forward, take two steps back, make progress or stumble and fall?
Will your dreams be realized, shattered, made, recalled, befallen, denuded, dewatered or deluded be splat?
You can't stop progress.
Time marches on.
'Now' it reigns, and we all get wet.
Fate's clock is never fast.
Destiny blooms and booms.
'Sun' it shines, and 'ce sera tout fait' translates
Good morning
Day its brung!
Forced my hand!
After being scourged, scorched, sored and sold by love, l was no more a believer for she was a deceiver!
The nights l wept alone expecting roses from a company of two, oh what a fool!
She was my queen, to him a quean.
I asked for the truth when she kissed me good morning coming from him or them, her voice quavering with Lies...
So l quaffed the whiskey and gin just to feel sane, l Let her go.... Why was l too blind not see beyond the illusion that is Love?
Months, years and a decade later...
I am renewed, my thought process refreshed, positivism my state of mind no longer posessed by the venomous pliant of romance.
Then there was that gentle lady!
Thy heart once again after a long time became pliable.
Like a parvenu, l had to overcompensate for all the times it rained in my soul... so l fell for you!
You made sense like the sun rising in the morning,
She was the definition of perfection. Which made me a participative partisan to her campaign into my heart....
I could not let a goddess slip through my time line,
Yes l was no more a believer yet l needed a deliverer just to be inspired, you see Love can be a beautiful illustration with no restriction.
Here l go, on my knees invigorated by you, what you do, how you move, invocation as l give in.... a diamond prepared for your finger the death of a bachelor!

Cold winter morning, birds singing as they too are trying to stretch and wake up, safe and snug in their warm nest of twigs and leaves..
As the sun rises to awaken our weary spirits Our Savior Jesus is giving us HIS signs of peace, love, blessings to bring a smile to our face.
Good morning Jesus
as I sit here in the early dawn thus January morning of Ordinary Time, I know there’s no such thing as ordinary when we are surrounded by your many blessings, peace, hope, singing and praising your undying love for us, fir everything alive …
Good morning Jesus, thank you for an amazing weekend of praising your love for us, for my home, my heath, family.. for my warm cup of coffee, the sun shining so we may be of good thoughts today.
Jesus, you came as to teach us, minister to us, “Come Oh Emmanuel” God is with US” Help me Jesus to love as you love us”. You met us where we are, in the darkness of doubt, when we wish to hide, you seek US, when we are Unsure of our Faith, YOU wait, YOU give us HOPE, Peace, Love.
Jesus as we set out to begin our day, help us by being your feet, hands, praise your love upon our tongues. Give Us Mercy when We Fail, “Lord Have Mercy on Us.
I will always love you Jesus, I may fall but I will always seek you. You are my father, brother, Pen Pal I’ve always been seeking, With you right beside me, may I Never Be alone…
“Come Oh Come Emmanuel” AMEN..
I do not attend church but I do believe in God…
like many she’s a God I cannot see
and I am often quite amazed and awed at the signs she sends to me.
Usually I see no-one when I walk in the early morning dark
but today a young couple was sitting on a bench on the edge of our city park.
They looked so happy sitting there I wondered if they were newlyweds
I waved and as I passed by…”Love Ya” they both said.
Love Ya…when I heard those words I was immediately taken aback
and though I did not know this couple “Love Ya too” I instinctively hollered back.
Those two words were the extent of our conversation…
lasting only as long as they were said.
But for the rest of my walk I was smiling as ‘Love Ya’ echoed in my head.
I was amazed how these simple but beautiful words spoken by strangers along the way
could cause such immediate joy and influence my day.
Continuing my walk I noticed a man coming toward me…soon he’d be passing me by
So filled with the confidence joy instills…I thought I’d give ‘Love Ya’ a try.
He said good morning as he passed…and the moment he turned his head…
Good morning, have a nice day and….Love ya…is what I said.
Our conversation was over quickly…lasting only a short while
and I’m pretty sure once his initial shock wore off I saw that old man smile.
Instead of heading home I ran back to the bench
to thank the couple for the love they chose to share
but when I returned they were gone…
which made me wonder…were they ever really there?
Or perhaps they were two angels…
sent down to say a ‘Love Ya’ just for me….
A reminder to me to spread some love
from a God I cannot see.
I step into the frigid air
To gather up the morning news
A long eared rabbit startles me
A maverick rascal breaking fast
One last dash upon the lawn
In his mouth a garden bloom
Through the fence, and down the road
Making haste, without excuse
To fields of barley, and fields of loam
Thunder-blue are lupines bold
Standing oak trees, proud and tense
Dressed for parades of scrambling feet
On Easter morning's golden dawn
He scurries home by sheer routine
In bunny slippers, softly made
I shuffle back into my den
I smile and watch the rascal go
He had his fun, and I have too
The window frames the early sun
Morning coffee perks again
Let the cat out, read the news
Discard the worry, eat the food
I had a laugh, as well I should
Drink the day, and digest the good
