The spirit that remembers the taste of blood
                                          is cold and fearless
Lift your head up, set sail to the top
                                  ride high waves, exceed climax
Liars - Death Penalty - Losers
Knock the nickel nail in the coffin

High tide, rising toxic ... turbo tempo
Rugged, round stones at the bottom,
                                     slippery with long rubber boots

Brutally raped, broken - no virgin anymore
She carries her own cross, weak and weary
A secret place, buried in a rusty box
Woven deep in the ground, gaunt soil

Sleep safe with your mouth closed, not a beep
Under four eyes, an external promise - an oath
                               Frail and disappointment, without mercy
No rest, restart ... move on
Can you forgive poisonous words and perv actions
May your conscience burn brave and blue

Poem of the Day : 28.03.2018

Trip of a Lifetime

We flew through the air on a refurbished plane,
the shakes and the rattles sure gave us some pain.
But we were the ones who fortune had named
to spend years Far East with our dad’s army game.

The journey exciting, we’d not been before
to a place where the winters did not foul our door,
so with overcoats changed for our tropical clothes
we boarded the plane to where God only knows.

With propellers screaming we tore on our way
and rose in the air as the ground dropped away,
though creaking and groaning the plane struggled on
though both the wings flapped as we flew to the sun.

British Eagle, the airline that carried us away,
a turbo prop plane that had long past its day.
But that’s all our army could ever afford
when transporting dozen of families abroad.

Though night time in Turkey, at our first stop,
was not really the place where we found it too hot,
when we landed in India, some time around noon,
I think that it dawned what we’d be facing soon.

As we walked down the gantry to this foreign place
I thought the plane’s engines blew hot in our face,
but as we walked away the hot stream still blew strong
and it soon became clear t’was the wind all along!

But soon we resumed on our creaky old ride,
like sardines in a can we were packed back inside
and as Singapore rose in the sky like the sun
our new life in the tropics had really begun.

From a plane that just made it, next day was a train
with another full day of rough travelling again,
with seats made of wicker on which we would ride
and bunks made of wood crammed with people each side.

The view as we trundled down the track for that day
was worth any discomfort the train threw our way,
plantations and jungle, bananas and palms,
made this glorious Malaya a world full of charms.

Four years in Penang with its warmth, sun and sea
changed not only my life but the essence of me,
though it’s now fifty years since I had to depart
this ‘Pearl of the Orients’ still lives in my heart.

Premium Member Ice Cream Gran 2 - Going Turbo

My old Gran, met an ice cream man
Who welcomed her into the clan
Of superhero ice cream men
Who fend off villains now and then

He gave her top crime fighting tips
And lots of special chocolate chips
They’ll pump your muscles, fix your hips
If two or three should pass your lips

We’ve also got a gadget man
Looking at your ice cream van
He’ll supercharge the things he can
And then we’ll call you Turbo Gran

               *

One week later, first time out
Turbo went out on the scout
When two muggers robbed a man
Turbo Gran pulled up the van

She grabbed some chocolate chips to eat
These would make her hard to beat
She hurled some ice cream down the street
And underneath the mugger’s feet

Their every step did slip and slide
They reached a barn and hid inside
The barn was stacked up high with logs
But P.C. Hoggs had brought the dogs

‘Hey, Turbo Gran, you gotta laugh,
those muggers left an ice cream path.’
The dogs sniffed where ice cream was slicked
And pretty soon those thieves were licked

So now they call her Turbo Gran
It’s written on her ice cream van
With ‘Speedy’ written on each door
Just listen to it’s engine roar

So watch her go, my crazy gran
My grandma with a souped up van
To call her ‘Turbo’, please feel free
But she’s still ‘Ice Cream Gran’ to me

Melissa Reid

Melissa always dreamed of being a beach lifeguard,
But when it got to the age when she asked about it,
She was told she could not because of her eye sight,
Since she is visually impaired and so can't see well.

Whilst studying sports science she found the triathlon,
To be a sport which she could do - a guide sees for you,
And so trained hard every day on a static turbo trainer,
Where you don't need someone to show you the way.

Her swimming background means that she does best,
At the swimming part of the three-disciplined triathlon,
The other components being cycling and running, PT5,
But the honest truth is she really loves the whole thing.

In 2013 in Antalya, Turkey, at the ETU European Champs,
Para-triathlon, Melissa won the hip-hop, most desired gold,
And in 2014 in Kitzbühel in Austria, Melissa won the silver,
At the ETU European Champs, where everybody else was.

2015, and the ETU Europeans again but this time Geneva,
And Melissa took the bronze, then 2016, the Netherlands,
And Melissa bagged another bronze. She teaches swimming,
Was born Nottinghamshire in 1990, and trains in Cornwall.

In Rio she won a bronze and so stood tall on the podium,
When the GB anthem sounded for her and Nicole Walters,
She’s already training hard for the next Paralympic games,
Which are to be held in Tokyo, Japan, in the year 2020.

Premium Member Sweet Sugar

sweet tasting sugar
the icing
on the cake
darling been out
almost all day
fixing the car
lost complete power
coming up
a hill

falling speed
to ten mile
an hour
we striped
down the turbo
nothing wrong
then ran into
the town

to get a new
filter and some oil
because like
an idiot
i did not
check it
in a while
silly clown

i thought to myself
just shaking
my head disgusted
with a big red nose
what the hell
is wrong
with me
not thinking
of checking
the oil

as i always do
ended up
after quite a few
hours of work
it was something
really simple
but at least
the car
got a good service

now i am
laughing to myself
thought all
the time thinking
it was something
very serious

how has
your day been
sweetheart i covered
everything on
my side smiling
missing you
baby beautiful
with icing

Premium Member Stick and Defeat

In the fading heat of a waning falling October night

Trick and Treat travel on their broomstick’s front seat

high speed velocity twin turbo engines in roaring flight

‘We must beat others to hallowed doors and beat defeat’

‘No one must impede our finely tuned Quidditch’s path’

Speeding on angel gas enriched with technology’s potion

they whiz through the busy sky have projected their math

have hacked air control have consulted internet motion

At a gate of a palace of fine marble and extravagant riches

old Scrooge bickers ‘in my day we were lucky to get an orange

and maybe a piece of coal you two modern and greedy es

I have something to teach you a lesson for I am The Gorringe’

Here is a coin ‘that’s the way the money goes pop goes the weasel’

At the Eagle Tavern Scrooge has prepared for revenge in delight

the landlord fills Trick’s and Treat’s goblets from a decanter of diesel

‘Have one for the road you measly creatures please don’t get a fright’

Despite all mod cons they are suddenly grounded high on the fuel

hallucinate happily have glorious visions of hot sausage and mustard

while there in the mood already dream of the forthcoming Pagan Yule

nothing worse than going cold turkey but they imagine cold jelly and custard

When Trick and Treat crash from above because their parachute fails

the old man in his wisdom chuckles to himself because he is still standing

his bones are crackling but a sound mind feeds on the moral the story entails:

‘If you underestimate seasoned wisdom there might be an unhappy ending’

Try Again

There at first and almost lost forever
Months go by in our quiet endeavor

Generally independent, insignificant, and alone
Until you walked into my life and a star shone

Deep thoughts and conversations we spoke
Now feelings arising impatient to invoke

Act now before you lose her forever!
I couldn't ever forgive myself --- never!

Holding you close in the warm rain
Emotions exploding like a turbo freight train

Hands gripped around your waist I stand proud
Body beautifully shaped and chest very well-endowed

Want to try everything intimate with you
But wonder if you believe that it is true?

Kissing your sweet full lips against mine
Wondering when we'll find the time

Wondering if you feel just as true?
And wondering if you want to start anew?

Yearning for the first day you'll be naked by my side
And within your heart, body, and soul I will confide

Sharing the thoughts and saying those words
Flooded emotion washing through my nerves

I want to be with you and try again
But scared to death that I will not win...

Menopause

Menopause uggg

Adam was given work for his sin
Eve was given the privilege to produce kin

Never once was menopause mentioned
Who created this invention?

They say get an ablation, it’s the best thing since apple pie
You’ll stop bleeding and you don’t have to try

What they don’t tell you is, it doesn’t always work
But heck, the no cramping is a perk!!

Whatever!! It threw me right into the change
My life seems a little nuts in exchange
My kids think I’m lazy but in actuality I’m a lot crazy

I don’t sleep, and I stay wide awake
My moods are all over so the niceness is all fake

I wake in a pool of sweat
Only to later freeze, throw me the net !!

Oh the hot flashes are real
It’s great for sex appeal

The man says you must be hot for me
I just roll over and say no, I gotta pee

Weight gain is going at turbo speed
Chocolate is the number one need.

I just want to be left alone and not bothered
Give me peace and I’ll be honored

Don’t wish for periods to end
You’ll never be right again my friend.

Take Your Shot

12/3/2021

       IF you think,
you’re a loser then you are,
       IF you think,
I got this, then you’re a rock star.

     IF you think,
 I can't do this, you won't,
     IF you think,
I will give it a try, then you don't.

     IF you think,
it's all a waste of time,
     IF you think,
your loyal to the ties that bind.

     IF you believe,
 there is a way out'
     IF you think,
 I can, then you doubt.

     IF you think,
you can win you’re a winner,
     IF you believe,
you can be saved then be a sinner.

     IF you think,
 you know, you truly believe,
     IF you think,
you will, anything you can achieve.

     IT all starts,
 as a single thought,
   Give it a try,
 TAKE YOUR SHOT.

Premium Member Ice Cream Gran Gets Even

[For those of you unfamiliar with the Ice Cream Gran saga,
Ice Cream Gran or Turbo Gran is a crime fighting granny.
Guess what she drives…..]

               ****

Ice Cream Gran, in her ice cream van
Turned on her cheerful tune
Today she’s free to serve ice cream…
No crime this afternoon

Her new Black Forest ice cream
Which would normally have cherries
Is now her new best seller
Since she changed them for strawberries

A lady, large and very brash
Said, ‘Large with chocolate chips,
not in a cone but in a dish,
those cones sit on my hips.’

Her snottty son who seemed quite young
Said, ‘Give me ice cream now!’
He then got let down by his tongue
which said, ‘You daft old cow.’

‘Of course, young man,’ said Ice cream Gran
‘Is chocolate sauce all right?’
He grabbed the cone and wolfed it down
And whimpered, ‘Gaaaaarrrrhhh…. Marmite!

But when her secret phone announced
That crime was now occurring
Gran said you’d best be on your way
There’s crime to be deterring

So Turbo Gran sped up the street
Her turbo van high-tailing
Its sirens like that rude young man
We’re positively wailing
