from your first born, when you grab a dusting of talc, crushed with late night feeds, stirring in bouncing and stories on a knee,
adding a layer of stumbled steps, with a batter thickly made of learning to say “No”, doughy rings of crossed arm tantrums,
glazed slowly with parent’s evenings and bringing first dates home (sprinkled with questions from Dad) before adding candles for sweet sixteens and exam results,
packaged carefully in a ribboned box to protect from life in a university dorm, your tears adding moisture to an increasingly distant mixture,
silver lace can be wrapped around to celebrate a wedding, supporting that newly added layer of Mr and Mrs, matching mortar boards made from icing, surrounded by love heart shaped chews,
you buy an electric whisk when your hands hurt from stirring, still rustling up cookies for grandchildren using grandma’s special sugar, butter and flour,
until you go back to the trusted cookbook, scattering gold dust over fifth birthday cakes, dyed icing and sponge into the colours of a superhero – a grandchild’s eyes bigger than their belly,
your cakes gradually change from pottery to silk, from gold to diamond, for your anniversaries past, you contemplate making a Victoria sponge in black, allow yourself to grieve your husband’s last,
until a great grandchild grins and brings you a cupcake all aglow, revealing a one hundredth birthday candle which is your very own to blow
Shame the bright way my parents bestowed Christmas magic
was not equally a part of every child’s memory package.
When grown and living close, Christmas joy remained parent sown.
Such delight seeped into their grandchildren’s holiday tone.
There were many special Mom things, many unique Dad deeds.
We would learn, one less the other lacked Christmas success.
No matter the duration of my earth-time endurance,
Christmas will not come again without heartbreak occurrence.
Was a Christmas day when Dad was gone to hospital lay
as a tragic three days crept up to take him forever away.
For twenty years we have self-persuaded our Christmas’ eggs
to be as delicious as the ones Dad yearly made perfectly cheesy.
On Christmas morn, one of us will sneak-stick a bow upon face
and when noticed all will laugh to feel Daddy’s trace.
Grief does not cease when gifts need mechanical or electronic ability,
no, at those times, our shared mourning cradles stupidity.
Christmas eve drives to tour bright lights, cannot be made right;
no one reports on Santa’s progress as Dad did with perfect stress.
Brother, sister and I need seek some Christmas eve side-by-side time.
We sit with the children we used to be, and all return eagerly
to floor sit again, like back then, by Dad’s candle’s dancing flame,
to visit the sweet Christmas times when Dad’s voice expounded lines
from the bible about Mary, Joseph, the manger and Christ’s birth.
It is a special sibling Daddy Christmas love-glow death cannot fold.
I’ve made love in the morning;
I’ve made love in my car;
I’ve made love to the girl next door
and to a movie star.
I’ve made love on an airplane,
just to join the mile-high team;
But, each time that I’ve made this love
it’s been only in my dreams.
I’ve made love to a cheerleader
underneath the football stands;
I’ve made love to the lead singer
in the most popular girls band.
I’ve made love to a Senator
with a vow of silence I must keep;
But, each time that I’ve made this love
I’ve been fast asleep.
In reality I’m just a bachelor
living in a made-up fantasy world;
I’ve never even asked one out
let alone kissed a living girl.
I am still an unloved virgin -
destined to stay that way for life;
But, that doesn’t stop me from falling asleep
with a super-model as my wife.
I’ve made love in Hawaii;
I’ve made love standing on the moon;
I’ve even tasted that special delight
in the early afternoon.
I’ve made love on a submarine,
sitting on the ocean floor;
I’m sure that when I fall sleep tonight
I’ll be making love some more.
As the sun goes to sleep, the heavens turn into a deep velvety night. I search the shinning stars, both near and far. I am looking for one special star, one I can call my own. The universe is vast, 10,000 stars for all to see. I am looking for just one star, just one for little old me. I find one on the edge of the velvety sky, it has no name. Bright and shining, glistening like a diamond in the sky. I will adopt you for me, Crystal White will be your name. Tomorrow I will file the papers, then you will be all mine.

You Told Me Never Again My Love
Love’s a most sacred trust between two people meant forever,
And yet you treat it, at times, as a sham and forever is never.
The bond of love is considered sacred in God’s very eyes,
And you should know dear one—that God tells us no lies.
My thoughts and feelings for you are beyond earthly measure,
And the love we share is quite special and always to treasure.
You once told me you would never again ever doubt me,
And yet I’ve found your doubt is back now to haunt me.
Love’s that infinitely complex and most perplexing emotion;
Its mysterious power is the very alchemic force of its motion.
And so my love, it’s time now for us to seize once again our life,
And to renew all that’s special between us, and not just the strife.
You told me never again my love, and say I the same to you my dear,
For life with a true-found love is one we must nurture year by year.

Who will make the bread if everybody is dead
Who will get the children out of bed and get them
And put on their shiny shoes and take them to school
If everybody is dead who will cut the lawn
When I wake up at dawn and just before the break of day
Who will wipe my tears away the mountain is very high
And my vision is resting in the sky but on destiny I will rely.
If everybody is dead, who will make up the bed
Who will make my favorite tea and who will go
Walking with me by the sea, and when the sun comes up
Who will sunbath on the beach and watch the fishermen
When they go fishing in the deep blue sea? I will never exchange a gown for a crown or bargain with you when I grow old, I will plant a sword in the ground to seal the promise that I will never die for redemption is buried in the lining of the sky.
I have a hunger for life but I just cannot get enough to bite
There is so much that I want to do, to make your dreams come true, it’s already done but you must get if off the ground and wrap it around your waist and give it some space to lead the way.
Who will build the wall and take the family to the mall if everybody is dead and when I am tired of surfing who will keep my company in the morning? You have to go paragliding to get it right and night dancing to see the light and then we will end the vicious fight. I have a special passion for life and I will live
So take me to the gym to build my muscle and strengthen the vessel and end the painful tradition of man killing man.

How can people in war ravished countries
Ever think about anything else
Can any one of these tortured souls
Ever sit down and write poetry
And if they can, could they ever write about happiness
Would their poems only be about killing and destruction
Or could their humble spirits rise above the turmoil
And write about a different, happier world
It is something I've often thought about
I would hope that the human spirit would prevail
But I can't imagine it would under such duress
It would take a very special soul
That could rise above these horrible conditions
I would be interested to read something
From any brave soul that could manage
In spite of their situation, to come forward
And express the anxieties but as well
The incredible human spirit that shines through
I wait with great anticipation!

Sacred Night – A New Original Modern-day Christmas Carol,
a Collab with Cecilia Crasto
Once again, a beautiful poem by my sister Cecilia Crasto has been transformed into a lyrical Video musical, complete with special effects to convey the story of that historic Christmas night when the Christ Child was born. This New Original Christmas Carol celebrates the timeless spirit of love, hope, and joy that unites us all, regardless of our beliefs or traditions.
I trust you’ll enjoy this heartfelt creation as much as we enjoyed bringing it to life. Wishing my family, friends, and everyone here a season filled with peace, kindness, and good health. May this time of year inspire warmth and togetherness in us all.
A Happy and Joyful Christmas to one and all
When the brother you care for
is led to his bed by depression;
When your special needs' son
has yet to learn patience lessons;
When your beloved elderly Mother
uses your endless love like a weapon;
When the man who has your devotion
now poses in anger-based aggression,
You may wonder if all is now testing
your belief in God's active presence.
Still, you will send your prayers up to heaven
to seek His loving signs for duration.
You may ponder if your life is as destined
or a series of wrong decision dressings.
Soon, you will likely seek faith's expression,
hold it steadfast as your best protection.
A year of this life has me anxiety clasped
by things I never even meant to catch.
