Premium Member Story of a Stray

Just a stray
                                                    Rejected, unloved
                                                          Just a stray
                                                           Unwanted
                                             Abandoned, lonely outcast
                                                  Seeking a safe place

                                                        She wanders
                                               House to house, hoping
                                                        Tired, hungry
                                                        Cautious, too
                                          Looking for someone who cares
                                                    Looking for a friend

                                                            Pretty cat
                                                    Lovely tortoiseshell
                                                             Beautiful
                                                         Eyes of green
                                                Come kitty, kitty and eat
                                                     Don't you be afraid

                                                          Home at last
                                                    Grateful, yet skittish
                                                            Suspicious
                                                           Outside cat
                                                    With an inside family
                                                     Wandering no more

12/15/2012

Written about a stray cat that adopted us a few years back.
Still won't let us get too close, but she knows when dinner time is,
and always shows up. She never wanders far from our house.

One Track Mind

Relentless.
My life keeps rolling
down the same
old train track
Chugga-chugga-chugga-chug!
rhythm in my brain

Like toy trains
mechanical and
steady, their
throbbing beat
predetermined path repeats
predictable loop

One track mind
takes me nowhere, but
feels oddly
comforting
stifling complacency
the near death of me

Frenemies
my lagging caboose
I let loose
so relieved!
Plugging ahead, no restraint
Chugga-chugga-WHHOOOO!

And 'though I
cannot control the
scenery
or weather,
I find freedom in
unhitching whole rail-cars of
passengers and freight

Disruptive
adding too much weight...
Made it hard
to climb these
necessary mountains and
keep moving ahead

Lighter now
I look for ways to
still improve
add more coal
on inner fires, dreams and
desires fueled up

Gaining speed
this loop is too small
to contain
zest for life
my feisty trajectory
what is best for me

Terrified
I hit the switch and
pray that my
timing is
on target, switching the tracks
before it's too late

Brand new scenes
unfold beyond me
Truthfully
they're scary!
Unknown opportunities
frightening to me

Limitless
too big to express
these tracks called
Hope- sometimes
threaten to derail me, but
get me back on course...

And 'though I
have no idea
where I'm bound
what I'll find
I know I'm going somewhere
...no more one track mind!

Panchmukhi Ganapati

Five faced Ganapati relates to embodiment of all potencies
They symbolize the five fleshes in the subtle anatomy felt.

The flesh body, the breath or energy body, mental body
Body of upper consciousness and body of Cosmic bliss.
The fifth body being the highest level of Yogic experience.
Thus the five days of celebration is for that five potencies
First day-atonement, amends of misdeeds like Thanksgiving.

Create vibration of love & harmony among family members.
Second day among neighbors, relatives and close friends
Create harmony among business associates on the 3rd day
For arts, culture, music, dance and religion on the 4th day
On last day experience love, tranquility from God Himself.

"I carry your heart with me(I carry it in my heart)I am never without it"

                                                     Quote _ by E.E. Cummings

dear brother,
did you ever know
what hit you
late at night
as you sat all alone on
the curb of a street?

the car slammed
straight into a tree
The driver
didn’t see
that you lay under his car-
dead upon impact

young and drunk -
girlfriend on his lap -
he killed you,
dear brother,
with such pure stupidity
on that dreadful night

much you had
to give the world, for
you mattered
so much more
than the ignorant young man
who ran you over

How random
the act that killed you -
you- the best
of us all -
taken instantly from us
on a lonesome street

I think that
you knew you were doomed!
You sent us
long letters
(something not common for you)
before you met fate

forty years
goes quickly, dear Dale
You missed so
much from life.
When I join you, please be there
waiting to greet me

John a Dear Friend Gone
"I carry your heart with me(I carry it in my heart) I am never without it"
 Quote _ by E.E. Cummings
Miss you John
A dear friend has gone
So used to
Seeing you
In the residents lounge room
Now a place of gloom.

No goodbyes
Taken by surprise
Though you fought
The onslaught
Of all you’d been going through
We knew, John we knew.

Though deceased
In autumnal breeze
We’ll hear you
Behold you
In displays of russet leaves
Swirling down from trees.

Seasons come
And we are sure chum
You'll be near
Never fear
When the cold north wind doth blow
In sun, rain or snow.

We’ll treasure
The joy and pleasure
Of time shared
Of souls bared
In our heart and memory
Always, constantly.

Time to fly
To beyond the sky
Carry love
Up above
A keepsake to heaven sent
Sleep in sweet content.

~Friendship Bracelets~
(Shadorma)

Beautiful
Nice friendship bracelets
Colorful
So pretty
I love making them all time
And wear them, they're great!

Folks like them
Many make them too
Some wear them
Some sell them
Many just give them away
To a special friend

Wonderful
Are friendship bracelets
With threads knotted
Made with love
And ready then just to wear
On your very wrist

Just like them
Very much indeed
I believe
They're so cool
Very neat in every way
Not so hard to make

I make them
One, two, three, four, just
Follow steps
All the way
With any colours chosen
And number of threads

They are fun
To wear all the time
They're so nice
They look great
In any color you want
They are just awesome!

All handmade
Make them all with love
So special
A great gift
Some take a long time to make
But all is worthwhile.

A Shadorma

Oh spectre
of the blackest ink,
satin shroud
feathering;
ignorance begets terror
though you are a bird.

Poe’s penning
only adds darkness
to legends
greatest plight;
feared by those who believe myth,
unfounded tall tales.

Cailleach did
feast on men’s bodies
in disguise,
a raven,
her dark disguise projecting
into human eyes.

Totem for
the great Bran; guarded
by your kind,
the tower
of London paints the sky black;
inky feathered swarm.

Great Arthur
Once and future king,
was transformed
into your
breed, so that he might return
to reign once again.

In truth you
are only a bird,
like others
you raise young,
though stories the world around
feed creative minds.

Note 1: Cailleach, in Scottish legend, was an evil hag who dined on men’s bodies, disguised as different birds, including the raven.

Note 2: The Welsh diety Bran’s head is said to have been buried beneath the Tower of London after he cut it off himself and rests there securely guarded by the ravens.  Reference: https://treesforlife.org.uk/forest/mythology-folklore/raven/;

Triple Scenes On Life, Love Powers And Faith

Come light come
Invade willing soul
O bless be
Life to thee
Knowing dark world takes its toll
Eat from love's sweet tree.

Come night come
See Heaven's bright moon
Hold that sight
True love's light
Understanding arrives soon
To negate world's blight.

Come right come
Dawn gifts its new glow
Stand thee proud
Sing aloud
Let kind heart and soul thus grow
Blue sky gifts soft clouds.

Tombstone Tales

Through graveyard
meandering, just
me and Dad
stories sad
abbreviated down to
mostly names and dates

So we tell
their stories by turns
like poor Duane
Dinwiddie
died at age thirty-three of
bee sting allergy

So tragic
how she caught a chill
Angeline
age nineteen
who died before her wedding
day, her groom grieves still

Or the war
heroes, Frank and Finn
taken in
the prime of
life, no child or wife, they were
just children themselves

Gunther Gold
did what he was told
gullible
on a dare
lost his life to win respect
bullies didn't care

Bartleby
hypochondriac
cough, sneeze, hack
was ignored
by the whole village, but he
got them back- with plague

Len Kramer
the lion tamer
tried to save
his wife when
she unwisely came in, but-
got eaten instead

Philetus
on flying trapeeze
an ace- the
very best
until he had to sneeze- then
sadly laid to rest

Then Daddy
looks at me and I
look at him
giving in
to sudden gales of laughter
glad to be alive
