A few more hours
the world will count
a new year in
a new year out
and here am I
within your arms
I count the time
by all your charms
Our bodies sway
you hold me tight
the candles blaze
On New Year's Night
the fireworks
within your eyes
now scintillate
along my thighs
we celebrate
the time draws near
that burst of love
to other sphere
the TV lights
dance to and fro
the countdown on
in passion glow
I see your face
bathed in desire
we're almost there
you rock me higher
And then as one
we burst in flame
the New Year's come
our love, the same
What better place
for you and me
than in the throes
of ecstasy!!!
You hear me sigh
and sweetly say,
"My New Year's joy
is here to stay."

Women in my family
are a poetic bunch…
they are in trance at glimmering sky when
only a blazing red dot visible at vermillion dawn..
they feel mesmerized with
trilling and twittering of homecoming birds at falling dusk.
when darkness descends on mountains, evening breeze
lulls the lustrous petals of purple,
and pink, yellow and maroon flowers.
when fireflies scintillate like diamonds in tiara,
crescent moon inspires them to fall in love..
heart fondly caressed by memories
of untainted youth..poetry of nature unwraps
layers of their
soul

Inspired by the poem of Ellen Bass
My heart remains asleep, until you touch it... (poet)
You are the most' enigmatic existence,'
which will never be mine.
I remain a million waves away,
trying to make beauty from your scars.
Love is a reflective remedy in a world
veiled behind hateful hallucinations.
Envious eyes are an enemy
in episodes of egression.
As you are a mistress of midnight,
and I, a dahlia rejoicing in daylight.
To the one who has composed an
enchanted poem with silken whispers,
concealed within the silent
chambers of my sentiments,
lets go to a place where we can engrave
our own molten bronze memoirs,
where death can never keep us apart.
An eternal paradise for just me and you,
where the hidden passages of unheard chapters,
no longer remain unspoken and untouched.
Kiss me like moonlight on meadows,
caressing each blade of my oasis
in shimmering, silvery sensations.
Knowing my memories will appear
at dawn, in the form of dewdrops.
When aroused embers emerge,
uncontrollable words flow on virgin fibers,
as each intimate beat of hypnotic hearts,
floats along psychedelic paths of harmony,
where perpetual petals blossom like rainbows.
Heavenly scents scintillate senses,
as glittering butterflies float like our souls,
with shadows of satin stars serenading
our spellbound, sensual, sparkling spirits,
in realms with breathless nights and
velvet sighs echoing like lulling lullabies.
Each scribe springs into life in vivid visions,
like a divine dance, easing us into a tranquil trance.
A place called forever, illustrating immortal vows,
overwhelming like a Michelangelo masterpiece,
outliving the breaths of time in pristine clarity.
We must not take everything for granted
Freedom of speech, your voice
Poverty and war
ravages in large parts of the world
What is important to focus on
A dialogue with respect,
whether one agrees or not
One must listen and learn
as sibling of the same mother
Where a seed can sprout to a new plant
Grow in large groups in grass meadows,
and in roadside around the world
A guarantee of the present and the future
Work hard to create an earth where peace can flourish
The day is here now: Let all the colors of the rainbow shine
and ...

A Rose by any other Name - by Maria Williams
2nd place in the contest
When fields gleam aureate and song birds sing
and transient stars in clusters scintillate,
when sweet perennials are coaxed by spring
to blossom forth, he comes with sprightly gait.
He wends his way along the mountain trails
past opalescent rush of streams and rills,
goat-footed, on the paths that ribbon dales
and wind around and up and down small hills.
Then nymphs appear as, through the woods, he trips
to flower-smitten meadows. Fancy-free,
he leads them with his reed held to his lips,
till blithely they embrace his rhapsody.
So hear the music; watch the wood nymphs spin. . .
Then captured by sheer merriment, join in!

Shine Bright O' Golden Pen
To Empower & Inspire The Masses Of Men,
Burn Ever Luminous & Blaze As The Sun
And Let Thy Ballpoint Scintillate Like The Chosen One,
Fill Thy Longhand With Prestine Manuscripts
To Great Endeavors That Shall Sail Afar Like Ocean Ships,
Guide Thee To Depths Unknown
When Many Are Lost & Have Lost All Hope,
Illuminate Thy Ink Scrolls For All Of Time
With Knowledge & Wisdom & Light Divine,
Oscillate The Great Duality That Always Was
And Let It Transcend Through The Sword That Descends From Above,
Infuse Thee With Essence As An Emerald Stone
So I Shall Articulate These Jasmine & Fiery Poems
Seedier media’s spewed a lot of late
Crude is all about lewd Bazball’s fate
Ben eschewed then stewed had to wait
On Stokes & ECB feud did concentrate
A tomfoolery catapult at a summer fete
Deranged but change won’t contemplate
Glummer fans can berate but no debate
Won’t halt dumber all out assault template
Fawn this new dawn to thrill will facilitate
Once did reinvigorate now does agitate
Ban this bland brand just a T20 ingratiate
Test tragics thirst perverse curse won’t sate
Hiss Brook took the piss & will aggravate
Ben we no longer trust and must castigate
When he then lost his zen & did denigrate
His men & all the plaudits he did generate
As Test cricket’s saviour we didn’t hesitate
Defending best sort of our sport appreciate
Stopping unwise franchise rise we participate
Tests out of date follow a reprobate mandate
Cogitate let's all just trust Bazball & meditate
New chapter couldn't create must abbreviate
Lust did rust so deviate to your ego capitulate
Ben did abrogate before he then did abdicate
You bled said in red Tests would emancipate
New autobiography a publisher did ingratiate
Was a helluva scheme to your team castrate
Then on Test cricket you literally did defecate
From embers lets remember when did venerate
Rule of cool cats & sexy sultry strut of their gait
We did anticipate how they did titillate & titivate
In the thrall of the gall as Bazball did captivate
Is this the future of Test cricket we did ruminate
Rid of Covid new bid to stop the skid scintillate
Calling card is freeing the old guard to salivate
Enjoy the game again as wins did demonstrate
The swagger turned to stagger did defenestrate
Of course horse bolted.. before closed the gate
We’re entertainers the reason they did extenuate
Facts and their foolhardy acts will still repudiate
Our chagrin as on seriously thin ice they do skate
The plain disdain for the WTC did really infuriate
England is in such a state has enough on its plate
From the ruins nothing to excavate as we excoriate
But blunder here and down under won't exonerate
Uncouth truth can’t be hid from livid fans who hate
Bazball gesticulate just a cheap buzz like amyl nitrate
Joy of Christmas tolls hooray, buoying elation of Santa’s sleigh
As celebrating the birth of almighty sacred church bells ring
Reverberating in melodic music ~ chiming, jingling merry way
Halls of happiness aptly display, glittering décor of golden inlay
Where in rhythms of pious hymns carolers gaily dance and sing
Joy of Christmas tolls hooray, buoying elation of Santa’s sleigh
Around tree’s ornamental arrays children sway, pry, and play
While echoing from heartbeats of glory pulses of prayers ding
Reverberating in melodic music ~ chiming, jingling merry way
Moonlit stars scintillate glaze of silent night’s cheerful-- yay!
Streaming themes of angelic euphony, praising heavenly king
Joy of Christmas tolls hooray, buoying elation of Santa’s sleigh
Boughs of green holly, donning red berries, venerate holy day
Conferring glee in blessings of divinity, as spiritual rhythms swing
Reverberating in melodic music ~ chiming, jingling merry way
Invoking eternity in wreaths of flowers devotees earnestly pray
As faithful cling to missives of peace the beloved angels bring
Joy of Christmas tolls hooray, buoying elation of Santa’s sleigh
Reverberating in melodic music ~ chiming, jingling merry way

************
After basking in yesterday's afterglow,
I divested my vestments
to shift in cognitive mindset.
I stroll toward the horizon.
where the azure sky
embraces the vast sea blue.
Waves dance.
With silvered clouds,
Creating an orchestra
The wind and light are present.
Sallow shadows scintillate.
In Moonlight Melodies...
As dusk settles,
casting a shimmering awe that echoes of
The splendor of the galaxies abounds.
In every breath,
A promise resonates,
to the dawn
that dwells within me.
Gliding on golden wings
a sovereign among the kings
As light swirls beneath the Milky Way,
The cosmos shines brilliantly.
In a pearly gown.
Angels slide,
Unleashing their power
to restore their lost throne.
With flickering wings,
Wield the sword of stone
their footsteps inscribe
a path of golden light,
As they conquer the onyx depths
of an obsidian night.
Loving blasts their souls.
angel wings shake in sadness,
where grief and despair are hefty,
seeking an aerial citrine nirvana
I recall it sharply,
as if it were yesterday,
Tears mar the silky pillows.
as honeysuckle
It oozes from eager lips. —
There is a longing for satisfaction.
Lipstick etches its mark.
He left an imprint on his bare skin.
Even now, those intertwined chains
of Memory ensnares me.,
As well-oiled fingers traverse
the curves of the sensuous body,
ordinary yet glowing in the sunlight,
filled with a relentless passion.
Nervous tension shattered,
striking, akin to a diamond on ebony velvet.
As her body warmed and became silky,
Her lips melted and tasted delicious.
They expressed love ardently.
and hugged fervently.
swept up in passion and longing,
wishing the moment might last forever,
cocooned in each other's arms,
and felt blissfully pleased,
Polishing words into gems,
dusted garnet, with sunset slips
In citrine clouds cast
There was a ray of magenta skies.
I wish for unending delight.
and utter bliss in the afterglow.
Self-seeking combined with appetite
unsettles our global foundations.
Arrogant malice yields agony
as volatile as dynamite.
Diplomats dream up celebrations
portraying worldwide euphony.
Dazzling garlands line the street
winking past the gluttony.
Roses from all nations
scintillate, incomplete
harmony.

The last three lines are a quote: 'Roses from all nations scintillate in complete harmony' from A Rose by any other Name - by Maria Williams. My apologies, Maria, for altering the essence of your line. Scintillate may also mean a flickering, wavering, bewitching light.
The form is new to me, the curtal sonnet, created by Gerard Manley Hopkins
