If I had one wish it would be to go back in time
I would walk right up to Adam and Eve and open up their eyes
I wouldn’t go as the serpent but as an angel in disguise
I’d say unto them “don’t eat the fruit, please try and refrain”
Because if you do, you will bring forth suffering and pain
Women will miscarry and endure the pain of childbirth
The heavens will open up rains and end the earth
However, the earth will be again
Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes
We will all speak one tongue then we will
Be divided into classes
We will all be men of color until one will claim to be the master
When that day comes, there will be legions of disaster
They will reign over the years living off others blood, sweat, and tears
There will be a king and his name will be Martin
He will do everything in his power to stop them
There will be no resolution
Because Martin faced execution
All men of color will be under observation
They will be a majority but still a small part of the nation
Men will suffer within for the rest of their days
Because of fornication and misbehavin’
There will be a plague of AIDS
But my father is a God of mercy and wrath
Adam, please don’t taste the fruit
And this desire too will pass
You have the world in your hands
If you do not choose
You will curse the people and condemn the land
In the end you will lose
So as your guardian angel and guiding light
I only speak the truth
I say to you “please make things right”
“do not I beg, taste of the fruit”

Humbly He took my human flesh,
humbly dwelt in Mary's womb,
humbly walked the dusty roads,
teaching, healing, breaking bread
Holy is the Lamb.
Gently He gave Himself to me,
gently touched my fallen form,
gently lifting from the mire
my broken, needy, sin-sick soul.
Holy is the Lamb.
Freely He gave His all,
freely suffered scorn and shame,
freely bent beneath the scourge
within Pilate's judgement hall.
Holy is the Lamb.
Surrendered to the cross,
surrendered, bearing all my guilt,
surrendered to death's bitter call
He gave his utmost, gave me all.
Holy is the Lamb.
Risen, to give me new life,
risen that I might bear His name,
risen that I might never die
the second death but reign with Him.
Holy is the Lamb.

Picture a sunset on the brink,
abstract art inked by Nature's muse;
using crimson and scarlet hues.
Gold gilded, misty clouds of pink
gather around a dying sun;
acknowledging His reign is done.
As a doe dips its head to drink,
tranquility surrounds the scene;
for it's anything but routine.
Fascinated, you dare not blink,
awed by the perceived pause in time;
as ordinary turns sublime.
A scarlet sun ceases to sink;
time is suspended for a while:
hypnotized by Nature's profile.
Allowing yourself time to think,
you live in the moment of now:
and all you can say is, 'Wow!'
Picture a sunset on the brink,
gold gilded, misty clouds of pink.
As a doe dips its head to drink,
fascinated, you dare not blink.
A scarlet sun ceases to sink;
allowing yourself time to think.
Have you ever had a day, you wished you were dead,
what makes these thoughts pop up in our head.
It has been a while since it came to me,
but I was already dead, I just couldn’t see.
My whole life washed down the drain,
but to then, be cleansed of its reign.
How this life can change in a second you see,
and those things we lose, sometimes sets us free.
If you keep those feelings, in your heart,
in life, it will be hard to find your part.
Sometimes, the people places, and things,
have their very own, deadly stings.
I no longer wish these thoughts, you see,
my heart belongs to God, the way it should be.
All kinds of these thoughts, that comes to mind,
trust in Jesus, and you will find.
A life that is worth the living, you see,
that’s why, He died for you and me.
To take these thoughts, and turn them around,
they will set you upon, higher ground!
Thank you for your service and your ultimate sacrifice.
You wore that badge with honor always willing to pay the price.
Your family must be proud of the man that you became.
Your life was cut to short but in God’s glory you now will reign.
I’m sorry for your child and your understanding wife.
I’m sorry for their loss but I’m very proud of your life.
The path that you did choose was a special one indeed.
Your integrity and valor will have forever left its seed.
I mourn for all of your friends and your family as well.
I think of all the beauty in the kingdom that you now dwell.
You will always be remembered by the stars that you’ve aligned.
Thank you, Officer Holte, badge number 639.
*I wrote this for a 29 year old Grand Forks Police Officer that was Killed last week in the line of duty. He left behind a young wife and a 10 month old baby*
November's cold wind fuels December's freeze,
although the sun is still beaming golden rays.
On a canvas of leaves, Jack Frost tints the trees,
as longer nights encroach upon shorter days.
November dips its brush in a golden sun,
gilding green canopies before it is done.
And Autumn leaves are a visual delight;
a splash of color, preceding Winter's white.
Chilly mornings whisper secrets to the grass,
while frost glitters like shards of glittering glass.
Fleeting hours of warming sunlight swiftly pass,
beneath a sky of azure and fading brass.
Nature's winds laden with snow and freezing rain,
shun the sun; welcoming Winter's bitter reign.
Yet, topaz beams struggle through the cloudy grey,
to light the world before Day is chased away.
INSTEAD OF WAR
HISTORY IS A MYSTERY TO HUMANITY,
SOME KNOWN WITH AN EVIDENCE,
SOME UNKWOWN WITHOUT A TRACE,
PEOPLE EAGER TO KNOW WHY LIFE IS WHAT IT IS NOW?
IN OUR STRUGGLE TO LIVE,
WE GOT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT SENCE IT MAKES TO LIVE WITHOUT WAR,
THE HIGHEST STUPIDITY OF MAN KIND, IS THE ACT OF HATE,
LIKE A BIRD FLY,
WE FLY WAR,
LIKE A LION FEED ON FRESH MEAT
AM EMPIRE SUCK DRY THE FURTURE OF THE INNOCENT,
LIKE A VAMPIRE,
WE WAR FROM DISTANCE PLACES,
INSTEAD OF WAR
LETS TOGETHER PULL OFF THE MARKS OF ISOLATION
THEN THE RUMOURS OF WAR WILL EXIST NO MORE
LIKE A GLASS FALL,
BREAK THE BOND OF HATE,
THEN YOU SEE UNITY WILL ALWAYS KNOCK ON THE DOORS OF OUR TOWN,
LIKE A RETURN OF THE PRODIGAL SON
INSTEAD OF WAR
LET LOVE FLOW FROM THE TOP TO THE BUTTOM,
LET LOVE FLOW FROM OLD TO YOUNG,
LET LOVE FLOW FROM GREAT TO SMALL,
INSTEAD OF WAR
ON EVERY CONERS OF THE WORLD,
LET UNITY REIGN LIKE THE AIR,
INSTEAD OF WAR
IN OUR 21ST CENTURY,
LET IT BE WRITTEN THAT WE LEARN TO TOLERATE ONE ANOTHER,
DESPITE OUR DEFERENT OPINION,
LET IT BE SAID IN DISTANCE TIME,
HOW BRAVE WE ARE TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF PEACE,
INSTEAD OF WAR
WE NEED TO ANSWER THE CALL OF NATURE,
THE CALL OF LOVE,
LET MAKE USE OF THE TRUTH IN US,
THERE IS LOVE IN EVERYONE,
INSTAED OF WAR
LET THE MOUNTAIN HILLS OF ILLUSION BE DRONE DOWN,
WITH TOGETHERNESS IN UNITY,
LET THE TEMPLES OF SATAN BE BURN ABRAZE BY OUR STRUGLE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER,
WE NEED NO MORE WARS IN THE WORLD,
LET THUNDER STRIKE DEAD THE PULPIT OF THE PROPHETS OF DOOM,
LET THE EARTH SHAKE AWAY THE TREASURE OF BABYLON UNTIL THEY BE BORN AGAIN,
LET THE SUN HEAT DOWN THE WEAPONS OF DISTRUCTION,
OF ALL SATANIC VAMPIRES,
INSTEAD OF WAR,
WHERE DREAMS ARE SHATTERED,
INNOCENT BABIES CRY FOR HELP,
BUT NONE TO HELP,
MOTHERS BLEED TO DEATH BY MEN ON KAKI JACKET,
SMOKES OF DRONE ON EVERY CONERS OF THE INNOCENT STREET,
CHANTS FOR HELP LEFT AND RIGHT,
UP AND DOWN FROM THE LIPS OF THE POOR,
BUT WHO IS TO HELP?
ALL FOR WAR,
INSTEAD OF WAR
LETS MOVE TO A BETTER WAY,
THE WAY OF LOVE,
THE WAY OF UNITY,
DESPITE WHATEVER IS,
THE WAY OF PEACE
I REST MY CASE.
Love, like an emotion beyond explanation
Come to me and dissolve me in your mysteries
I will swim in your endless oceans and
make memories of a lifetime to remember.
Gracefully as the spring leaves when her reign is over
Brush away all the pains from the chambers of this heart
Dwell deep inside the broken soul behind this smile
You might get the opportunity to cast off these sheath of tears hidden underneath
Touch me gently for I might break
The wounds of the past have left me fragile
Delicately run your tips all over my body
Give me a night that I remember till the end of my days
Like a sunset full of passion and colour
I yearn to be united with my one true lover
But the dawn steals away my dreams
And leaves me lonely to dwell on my scars
Next time hold on to me permanently before the sun rises
Reflecting our true selves infront of transparent light radiating from moon
So that you can clearly see deep inside me
The parts of my Body that echoes only your name
This was year I came into this world
so much changed in all that time
many events in society wouldn't believe
let's see if connection do rhyme
In UK Queen Elizabeth 2 was crowned
this great lady even now does reign
such a great example so very faithful
morally righteous without a stain
In the movie world beauty we saw
Russell and Monroe graced the screen
'gentlemen prefer blondes' was the one
simply stunning was to reign supreme
The wedding of the year appeared
JFK and Jackie Bouvier were matched
sadly the president's life ended
Jackie's dear hubbie from her snatched
The first colour television appeared
for just $1,175 it was on sale!
not knowing then how TV would advance
it's moved so fast overtake every snail
So 1953 was indeed my year
into this world I did appear
I maybe wasn't greatest highlight
but still here so abundantly clear
