I hear the echoes of a distant time,
As wailing gnats embrace the wind chime,
Their tiny wings are a symphony of sorrow
In the winnowing winds—their cries borrow,

For now, I am but a freshwater stream
Trapped between valleys, a mere dream,
But deep within my soul, a fire burns,
A longing to break free—to bear my turns.

I crave to be an ocean, wild and vast,
Where waves crash and dreams are cast
Touching continents with a powerful might
Drawing them closer, day and night.

My power is at its—height
As the sun shines with all its might
Air and water temperatures rise,
Underneath—cerulean skies.

A swirl of water and air my power unleashed,
Destroying all in my path—unappeased,
With every twist and turn, chaos ensues
As I revel in the destruction I choose.

The cool air wafts off lakes so serene,
Mixing with the heat above—creating a scene.
The surface of the lakes, now disturbed,
Ripples and rages, as if it were perturbed.

With furious eyes of fiery red,
I unleash my wrath—filled with dread
A tempest of fury—a dance of might
Engulfing the world in a relentless fight

No shelter can protect—no fortress can stand,
Against the force of my wrath, so grand
I tear through cities, leaving ruins behind.
Leaving no trace of mercy for mankind.

No Status Quo

The world is rumbling
our society is crumbling.
The winds are blowing
the Lord’s power is showing.
The fire rages the smoke pollutes
it’s his power without refute.

Tides raise and recede
another day there is still need.
The strength of our human condition
will struggle and grow from this rendition.
We will do more than revive
and even more than survive.

Living to grow strong
learning to right our wrongs.
Not settling for the times of yester year
for this I, must make absolutely clear.
I’ll accept no status quo,
If that’s what you offer, then my answer is no.

In this world of sublime,
that warns of the end of time.
I will fight for the hope of love anew
and struggle for my hearts renew.
This, is the life that I strive for
know this, as I knock at your door.

A heavy fog, misty gloom, sadness
Spreads all around me, sinking deeper
Into my spirit, my heart – my depths
Singling me out for the doubt
That feasts on my broken dreams
Devouring all my happiness and breathing
Slowly, urgently…. Through my veins
Flowing uncertainty, suspicion, skepticism
Powerful plasma of despair and dread
Sinking my joy into the intense blackness
Stifling every splash of inspiration,
Shining panic, terror, through my silent
Need for something to heal, to help
Comforting the disquiet that leaves me…
	Anxious and afraid

A vague sense of ambiguity, desolation
Sweeps through my heart, my thoughts,
Discouraging, daunting, dampening
Every feeling of goodness, acceptance
	hope

The joy that once danced there within me
is numbed, stiff, frozen beyond thawing
tenderness, once liquid, is cold and solid,
like a prayer that has faded into the past
leaving only the memory of how amazingly
	my heart has been blessed

Night creeps into my bones, shattering
All the optimism that I’ve known
Ominous, ruined songs of anticipation
Mysterious suspicions attack, even my fantasies
Feel like pessimism buried beneath
Masks of gladness – the nervousness
Rages through my stillness, covering me
With threads of incumbrance, alarm, trepidation
Fear is never ending, always there, speaking
Louder in the silence than it is in the noise
Intensity pouring out hopelessness through my soul
Dimming even my very best aspirations,

Courage is gone and I am ashamed
That this fear, this dread… it wilts my pleasure
Recedes into the shadows, weakening
Failure shrivels all my inspirations, colors me
In hues of death, grief – lasting phobias

When the panic rises, on the inside
I know only to hide – beneath the silhouettes
Peace, prayer, praise… they wane, vanishing
Into the cryptic secrets of mental illness
Where light grows faint, reflecting only
The sighs of a night so yawning it speaks
In a voice of demise, a voice of passing
A voice so afraid it is as garish, stark…
	As fear itself!

MOODS OF NATURE - WEATHER

Everything in life is so unpredictable, even in nature.
Hopefully everything will turn out ok in the end!
Wishing you a wonderful day!

MOODS OF NATURE - WEATHER

The clouds suddenly go dark, gloomy and grey,
A rumble of thunder in the distance,
"We should take cover!" I say.
Electrifying!!! The lightening, lights up the sky,
The storm is definitely heading this way!
Crashing noises of anger,
The thunder now rages and roars,
Torrential rain,
The heavens start to pour,
Bouncing and dancing,
As the rain hits the floor.
People running quickly to hide inside,
Shivers start to run down my spine.
Looking anxiously for a shelter to find!
Heading for shops, cafes, joining the crowd,
CHANGE OF MOOD
Ten minutes later, we no longer hide.
The storm has quietened down,
People start to go back outside.
The sky is no longer raining tears,
People smile and look up towards the sky,
A bright coloured, magical rainbow appears!!!
How beautiful!! It brightens up our day,
We carry on and continue on our way!

Moonflower Aglow

To Flower
by Michael R. Burch

When Pentheus ["grief'] went into the mountains in the garb of the baccae, his mother [Agave] and the other maenads, possessed by Dionysus, tore him apart (Euripides, Bacchae; Apollodorus 3.5.2; Ovid, Metamorphoses 3.511-733; Hyginus, Fabulae 184). The agave dies as soon as it blooms; the moonflower, or night-blooming cereus, is a desert plant of similar fate.

We are not long for this earth, I know—
you and I, all our petals incurled,
till a night of pale brilliance, moonflower aglow.
Is there love anywhere in this strange world?

The Agave knows best when it's time to die
and rages to life with such rapturous leaves
her name means Illustrious. Each hour more high,
she claws toward heaven, for, if she believes

in love at all, she has left it behind
to flower, to flower. When darkness falls
she wilts down to meet it, where something crawls:
beheaded, bewildered. And since love is blind,

she never adored it, nor watches it go.
Can we be as she is, moonflower aglow?

Brave

Woven into the fibers
Of the forming child
Was the message of disdain
Unwanted, inconvenient
...must be brave

Survival is the fittest
Not babies without desire
Mothers who endure consequence
Of ignited fires
...must be brave

Anger rages like lava
Under the surface
Til the pressure erupts
Wounds heal, guilt steals
...the brave

Teenagers are the worst
With all their fears fully clothed
Destined to please the boss
Feelings must be lost in the loathe
...of the brave

Behaviors, behaviors
Buy us a favor
Please love me, if you will
I promise to be who you want
If you will never ask for the reel
...to capture the BRAVE

When fiery language rages
                                                     our worlds collide,

That even new moonlight pales
                                                     as night-stars hide

Into shadows of inked duskfall
                                                     through night and bleak rain--

Where pin- pointed gazes flare
                                                      an out-pour again:

I hurl a tempest , wild my yells
                                                      You, a cracked windstorm--

Till holy silence overcomes us
                                                      turning gust to milder form

Precious reveries slowly abide
                                                      clear as lustrous dew;

Unforgotten in time's intervals
                                                       scenting passion anew .

Oh dream-makers clutch unto love
                                                       Tender the wave of sky…

When velvet kisses rush and meet
                                                       drenched in rain’s lullaby.

War for the souls of mankind rages
Serpent of old, against God he debates
between heaven and hell, battle wages.

Father of lies and accuser of the saints
Insatiable desire to destroy the human race
War for the souls of mankind rages.

Hidden fury flashes through evil eyes
Thunder and lightning in blackened skies
between heaven and hell, battle wages.

Hungry to devour, he crouches in wait
Spiritual armor he cannot penetrate
War for the souls of mankind rages.

Appearing as Lucifer, he attempts to create
An aura of light, in his heart is pure hate
between heaven and hell, battle wages.

Stand firm in Christ, do not hesitate
Do not be deceived or it may be too late
War for the souls of mankind rages
between heaven and hell, battle wages.

Power Behind the Throne

Is it man or woman who controls this land of ours
Historically it's man who's shown that he has all the powers.
But women know they're certainly, the Power behind the Throne,
Controlling man so totally, as he brings the bacon home.

Just lately it's apparent that the female of our kind.
Have ceased to be content in just controlling from behind.
They know their strength and now insist on strutting it about.
Taking credit for their mastery is what their game's about.

So man now feels he's threatened, he was quite content before,
He was happy doing as he's told behind his own front door.
He’d go to work and struggle making woman’s dreams come true,
And carry out the orders that his woman said to do.

But even mice can turn you know, and man's now had enough,
He's the one who feels that he is in control and tough.
So now a battle rages for his standing in our land.
Please woman of the world be nice, why can't you understand.

You've always had control of man, since Adam lived with Eve.
Your wishes came before his God, he proved it in one deed.
But know you fight to take his pride and make man fall in line,
I wonder as the roles reverse just what will come with time.

Maybe we'll see a different world as woman take control.
As man reverts to second place, accepting his new role.
But slowly as all men evolve to be the ones at home.
I wonder will this also change, the Power behind the Throne!
