Premium Member Calamity the Great Iii

Swept by waves of nostalgia
Afloat on longing tides
I assessed this oyster compound
where my heart could not abide.
Aphrodisiac pulls of Neptune
were as lava cooled to stone
What use were pearls of luster
when one had no collarbone?

Heralded by sea trumpets
kelp banners flying high
Sentinels of sea urchins
with pink coral by their sides
Calamity, with determined madness
shoved sponges from his path
Provoked by clam injustice
Spurred by mollusk wrath.

I searched for an escape exit
from that cruel, moronic clam
This myriad ideology,
naught but an oyster sham.
When a seahorse bobbing aimlessly
moved closer to my side
I unhinged my oyster carapace
and grasped its roughened hide.

I was jolted and I was jostled
as I settled on its back
Calamity watched in amazement
standing frozen in his track
When an agitated octopus
released an ink black kite,
a galaxy of starfish
sank into the brackish night.

I focused my attention
on my lost and nervous steed
We were climbing ever upward
at a most alarming speed
Breaking through the surface
I swallowed back a scream
Afraid of finding Calamity
I found it all had been...a dream.

Premium Member Possibly Time To Get a Dog

I beseech my muse to return to my dendrite highway.
She laughs and skips away, off to a new poetic interstate.
Come back! I shriek, no longer hearing her red boot steps.
I stare at the pristine snowy white of a page. I can do this.
Ten minutes, thirty, fifty-two, an hour. Nothing.

What kind of magic is this? Were all the ideas Trixie’s, all along?
Did I have nothing to do with the poems she wrote?
I take a little nap, eat a snack of peanut butter on crackers.
Fix lunch. There is nothing interesting about lunch.
Two hours have passed. Maybe it is time to get a dog.

I feel annoyed, perplexed, provoked.
My pen has made swirls, circles, dots.
I have written the words “dance, prance, joy and boy” six times.
I circle them and put stars by them.
Cartoons begin to form. A new hobby? I hope so!

A Lady

She never grows old
Though excessively cold
Her happening explode
Alike a rifle reload

Laugh exists as the valley of peace
Being relished she should price modest fees
Mole at the chin, a catalyst to her beauty
Being gazed she must impose a heavy-duty

The nose has a camel hump
Slaughters soul at occasions, while inside concerns she jump(s)
Shall us applaud her as well
Minor sleep has provoked her eyes to swell

Her heterogeneous attire is love
Never doubtful, the woman a gorgeous dove
Nails she bite
Neglecting meals of diet

A matron, imperfectly perfect
Though cerebrum & cerebellum own enormous defect
Watery eyes are testimony of satire
Earning her heart, people ought to be brilliant qualifier(s)

FATAL DIVORCE

They were the definition of marriage
My parents' union seemed flawless
Their bond was built on courage
In their hearts, love was fearless.

But that night, the thunder struck
I saw a broom and a hen weaponized
I saw the danger anger and trust provoked
The story of their divorce, never fully realized.

Their separation to me was scary
Though I wasn't in anyone's custody
My childhood felt a motherless void
Without God's grace, my light would've been destroyed.

Yet, their relationship is a book
Every page filled with wisdom
A crystal-clear stream
From which I'll always draw knowledge.

Premium Member HEART THAT REPENTS IN TRANSGRESSING AGAINST THE LORD

May 4 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on 1Chronicles 10-11

Key Verse – 1Chronicles 10:13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it.

HEART THAT REPENTS IN TRANSGRESSING AGAINST THE LORD

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While clinging to His might
Upon His power of majestic delight…
Against intoxicating filthiness, obnoxious in His sight
From weakening sinfulness toward His righteous light.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While listening to His gracious voice
Upon His calling that vanquishes humanistic noise
Against alluring vanities of arrogant, yet shaky poise
From tempting worldliness toward His holiness’ choice.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While cleaving to His strengthening
Upon His omnipotence of heavenly investment-shining
Against crashing laziness along slothfulness’ pining
From debilitating idleness toward His diligent service-refining.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While lingering in His favour
Upon His compassion of kindness of generous sharing endeavour
Against poisoning hatred full of bitterness’ savour
From condemning failure toward His loving care’s fervour.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While crying for His deliverance
Upon His security-help of truth-endurance
Against troubling adversities and vexing doubt-provoked ignorance
From deceiving adversaries toward His triumphant assurance.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While longing for His forgiveness
Upon His mercy of patience and gentle graciousness
Against provoking transgressions caused by iniquities’ perverseness
From discouraging guiltiness toward His complete pardon’s goodness.

Our heart repents in transgressing against the Lord…
While learning from His Word for faithful stewardship
Upon His truth of service and ministry partnership
Against criticizing comments that undermine our discipleship
From negating oppositions toward His compassionate fellowship.

shipping accident

The shipping accident

It was late evening when the captain of a Russian owner cargo came down from the bridge where he and the first mate had mapped the route from Humberside to Amsterdam. North Sea is always a busy seaway
In his cabin, lit a cigarette, sat down and opened his personal computer to send an email to his wife; he had a two-month vacation coming soon and said he missed her and loved her, if she came to Amsterdam, they could travel to Swiss
Then, an almighty shudder, he was thrown off his chair, hastily got up, ran up to the bridge, to his horror, his vessel had collided with an American reg tank ship; both ships were on fire, but since it was a calm night, the crew survived.
Back ashore, he gave his version of the accident to the relevant authority, as he left the building, he was arrested for manslaughter by the police; he knew the Russians were hated in England except for the wealthy types

The unreasonable hatred goes back to the time of the Tzar when the Bolsheviks killed the Tzar clan his wife had been one of the Queen Victoria’s relatives; the old queen had relatives in most of European royal households.
Politics entered the fray; the captain of the Russian ship was thrown into jail to await a trial that was not properly investigated since the US ship had carried jet fuel for an American base in a mediterranean country
There was a rumor of sabotage since NATO provoked war in Ukraine, the notorious newspaper, the Guardian, which is known for its anti-Russian stance, didn’t hesitate to accuse Putin for bringing the war to British shores

Daily Inspiration

The sun's rays blast through my bedroom window
Filling the room with daily inspiration
To help me brave the new day that's ahead
Knowing obstacles that await are unknown
I will hold my head high and march onward
Making sure to learn all the day's life lessons
So I'll be a better man tomorrow
I'll learn how to be truly selfless and just
For God is the only one that can judge
A world occupied with shame and happiness
Being ripped apart from the outside
I pray I have the time to repent my sins
Before the day of wrecking has arrived
Provoked by our own mistreatment and hatred
For everyone and all things around us
I'm tired and getting older by the second
My life's days steadily fading away
God, please forgive my belated commitment
All my trust I forever give to you
Undeserving I beg for your endless love
I will take full ownership of my shame
In hopes, you'll embrace me with your love and warmth
When my end finally takes me away

Premium Member Ripples In the Water

Existence is itself like the water of a clear pond
Glancing at it from afar
Anyone would immediately feel charmed
Would want to dip his toes in
Would even want to lie back and float on it
While letting the notes of the skies' mysticism
Fill up his soul and melt his heart!

But then, the still water of existence
Does experience ripples
From time to time
Whether these come as challenges
Or whether these come as catastrophes
Whichever, what matters is that
As soon as one succumbs to the charms of existence
And lets its promising pleasures fool him
One immediately realizes of one's mistakes
Existence is unpredictable
Existence is made of ripples
Ripples sent from the guardians of purity
Aiming to punish us
For simply having felt attracted
To existing in a temporary and transient world!

Pray, we are fragile floating candles
Sitting on the waters of a pond
A pond we thought would give us time to relax
And enjoy the feel of the sun on our flames
So that, rejuvenated, we would ignite ourselves
And show off our flares to the lucky residents of the heavens!
But ripples happen, ripples happen provoked or not
Ripples happen and douse off our ardor
Ripples show us that we are to be scared of them
For they have the power to destroy us
By bringing out our so fickle flames!

The Village On the Water

Heavily laden boats, rectangular sails billowing
    Under seas of low cloud, braving the fierce Yangtze;
Held between snowcapped mountains, earth and sky
   Indistinguishable from steaming mist and rolling fog;
A long drawn straggle of Grey Geese plummeting down
From breathless, rarefied air to stumble awkwardly onto
Plum coloured mudbanks; an unrestrained, excitable
Cacophony of frenzied honking! Then wild monkeys
Provoked into howling each side of the river.

There, at the juncture with Longjin Brook, stilted homes,
Half-hidden by bamboo groves, crouch at the waters
Edge; maidens will come to wash clothes
  Whirling wooden batons, twittering like golden swallows;
   Fragrant wildflowers enhance their sweetness.

At drab, pale, first-morning light, fishermen cast
Nets over the cooling, placid blue waters;
The fish that swim here are said to be the finest
  In the province.
We will exchange Black Carp and Blunt-Snout Bream,
Wrapped in moist bamboo leaf, for glutinous rice
With the clans that tend the terraces inside the fertile
    River valley...
Does not the Emperor insist upon good commerce?
If you are dissatisfied as a peasant
You can take the ancient "old tea horse road"
And burden your back with heavy bales stacked high
    On a rail;
The road will take you all the way from Zigui
   To Tibet...or even further perhaps,
And sombre ravens will soar overhead and taunt your
Every footstep.

But I will remain where I am, in the
  Village On The Water
   Nestled deep within the Three Gorges;
My life, the endless horizon stretched beyond,
Held in balance as if it were Shaseng
    The Shadow Play Stone;
And each new morning awakening to slow,
   Chiming bells.

When the Youth Speaks In Tongues

when the youth speaks in tongues

since our elders finds it difficult
to guide the creativities
of the youth

since our leaders finds it hard to
say the truth to the youth everywhere
nowadays

since the lies of our trusted
governments in Africa are obvious

since the youth are not
included in their political budget or
good agenda in truth and
honesty

since nowadays adults
are no longer like
adults any more then

all that will be left is provocation
and when the youth are provoked

they will speak in different tones
a tone of revolution
in this time is the time
when the youth speaks in tongues
