Ripples In the Water
Existence is itself like the water of a clear pond
Glancing at it from afar
Anyone would immediately feel charmed
Would want to dip his toes in
Would even want to lie back and float on it
While letting the notes of the skies' mysticism
Fill up his soul and melt his heart!
But then, the still water of existence
Does experience ripples
From time to time
Whether these come as challenges
Or whether these come as catastrophes
Whichever, what matters is that
As soon as one succumbs to the charms of existence
And lets its promising pleasures fool him
One immediately realizes of one's mistakes
Existence is unpredictable
Existence is made of ripples
Ripples sent from the guardians of purity
Aiming to punish us
For simply having felt attracted
To existing in a temporary and transient world!
Pray, we are fragile floating candles
Sitting on the waters of a pond
A pond we thought would give us time to relax
And enjoy the feel of the sun on our flames
So that, rejuvenated, we would ignite ourselves
And show off our flares to the lucky residents of the heavens!
But ripples happen, ripples happen provoked or not
Ripples happen and douse off our ardor
Ripples show us that we are to be scared of them
For they have the power to destroy us
By bringing out our so fickle flames!
