A HUNCHED BACKED MOBSTER
It’s sunset in late afternoon, where towards a water pan,
A pride of lionesses, approach with a much rehearsed plan,
Followed by a clan of mobsters,
Hyenas cackling luridly like monsters,
All wanted the impala buck, upon seeing them he ran!
The impala was unfortunately no match for these fierce lions,
Nor the clan of hyenas running after them in defiance,
The lions caught it with a crunch,
But the hyenas wanted this munch,
A stand-off between two enemies, who have no alliance.
Hyenas with much stronger jaws and now many in number
Threatened the lions, who did not fancy forever to slumber,
And decided to not argue this kill,
Hyenas hunchbacked, thick necked, will
Now demolish this meal, free from any lion encumber.
The Hyena a predator and scavenger with intense criminal intent,
Classed as a species of only few, the Hyaenidae, this meant,
Was regarded neither as dog or cat,
A thief, a lowlife, a rat,
A brazen mobster, who leaves behind him a rancid scent!
FOOT NOTE
But should hyenas bump into the king of the bush and his brother at the Kruger National Park,
Visitors, will be in awe as hyenas back off, outgunned and outwitted,
They will slink away!

The wild wind’s whisper haz
touched the budding roses
giving them life
The gawp from the writer
before the readers
yep
wuz jaw dropping
Yep
I’ve seen other roses

yet these which were before me

*Les clins d'oeil de poete
Who names a traitor? I will name a heart,
For hearts alone forsake the sought-for good.
The Captain Will surveys his seaman’s chart
To plot a course to guide his ark of wood.
Yet he forgets each sailor is a man.
‘Gin mortal foes a man be brave and strong.
Whoso is valiant, bid him join the van
To prove his manhood in the battle throng.
Yet, what fears that combatant beset,
Who, standing lone and single in the ring,
Beholds the trident and ensnaring net
Of him that is the ocean tempest’s king?
Aye, some outwitted Neptune’s rocks and ire,
Yet perishèd. What man resists the siren’s lyre?>
"and, as treason begins in the heart, before it appears in overt-acts, so he accused you as a traitor on that account, and therefore insisted you should be put to death" Jonathan Swift, Gulliver's Travels, Chapter VII
Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.
James 5:7 NIV
AN INVITATION OF BLESSING FROM THE LORD
Hollow bells echo through October halls, stirring of starlings on video.
Cheeks of children long to be red and cold, wrapped in season’s knit.
Harvesting time brings excitement, lifting homeschool from the pit.
Scarecrow sentries stuffed with hay, outwitted by smart-alec crows.
A season for pies with buttery dough — apple, pumpkin and pecan.
Mom’s wearing a vintage apron. Picture the prize with flour on face.
How inviting an Autumn kitchen is, filled with laughter and grace.
Couples, parents with children, cuddle up — moonlight and afghans.
Compassion and mercy on display in Fall’s Cornucopia, therefore be calm
as the land blossoms in corn and pumpkins, green-yellow warty gourds.
Former rain, its arrow unleashed, an invitation of blessing from the Lord.
Angelic breezes, maple-winged cherubs crunching oak - nature of psalms.

Life I miss you dear
For my time, it nears
I know you think
You’ve preached
And I did not hear
But I am now here
And with in my most
Towering moments
I can not help
But to be sincere
For when hours become
Too long for days
And days seem to
Outstretch our years
Out in the clear
Fate seems to come
As it appears
I reached out
For those
Who would not respond
I look here and beyond
When there was no one
To be fond of
Missing hours beneath the sun
Days have become long
And less fun
With no where to run
Soon I will be done
How can I be peaceful
When I take two steps here
And get knocked back six steps there
Nothing more to reach for
For quiet times
I questioned my blessings
Outwitted suicide
Residing to stressing
To visualize
Our opponents in the making
Days, this life
It’s here for the taking
I see through the souls of men
My near awaking
I’m home but I’m not
I’m in your arms but
I will soon be forgot
Could you hold me still
If I rested my thoughts
Should I take you there
Would you even inhale our air
Fore these seasons I donot care
A homeless man
With casual intensions
Please be ware

We love feeding and watching the birds which is why in the mountains when we’re there
if you visit us there’s a good chance you’ll see bird feeders everywhere.
It seems like such an easy task..fill the feeders…and see what birds we’ll greet….
but there are squirrels and there are raccoons who also like to eat.
The squirrels attack the feeders in the day…
while raccoons like to feed at night
both have one trait in common…an unending appetite.
As anyone who has ever had a bird feeder is aware
squirrels and raccoons are selfish…they do not like to share.
We’ve come up with a host of well-thought-out plans…but each one we’ve had to repeal
when the little bandits kept devising new and better ways to steal.
Until we remembered Deborah’s father…
he was gardener who always planted extra vegetables
for any animal who happened by….
and decided with the squirrels and raccoons…his solution we’d apply.
So we purchased extra bird seed…and opened the Balsam Birdseed Café
Now…we refill the feeders as needed when the squirrels feed throughout the day.
And we make sure our feeders have a little birdseed in them before we turn out the lights…so the raccoons will have a little snack when they visit in the night.
This way everyone is happy…we have a host of birds we get to meet
and their neighbors the squirrels and raccoons get enough to eat.
This also makes it easier to come to terms…
as each new day and night unfurls…
how for years we have been outwitted by raccoons…
and outsmarted by the squirrels.

I told a friend A standard set up
and she confirmed the same the reverse can lead to
it's that part of love and loving confusion
that no seems to say when the arrangement is swapped
a situation where thus is non-traditional in
when this arrangement is swapped A standard order
To those accustom to a certain
way of doing things
it can be a difficult
adaptation
to be ruined, defeated,or outwitted,
through trickery or deception
cheated or swindled out of something
cursed cause I failed to win
polite and less informal
won't go that route again
exhausted exploration of something else
"euchred" if they fail to win
the number of tricks they promised
tired in the literal sense
the general sense in meaning
use of the word to express
the way this man is feeling

Angels announced a special birth:
“Be not afraid!” Born in Bethlehem,
Come and see the Christ child,
Desire of Nations born in David’s town.
Emmanuel means God came to earth,
Favored One, first born of Mary.
“Glory be to God in the highest”
Heaven come down to dwell with men.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
Judah’s Prince of Peace, He was and is...
King of Kings, all-knowing and kind
Lord of Lords, lauded and lavished
Months later by Magi who marched to His star.
Notwithstanding King Herod’s claim, they
Outwitted him and offered Christ presents -
Provisions which paid for passage -
Quick escape to Egypt from the
Retaliation of Herod’s rival schemes.
Some people, sheep with no Shepherd,
Totally reject this account as a theory.
Unbelieving souls and others deny Jesus’
Virgin birth, divesting Him of divinity,
Wonderful Counselor, Wellspring of faith.
X-mas excludes the Christ from Christmas,
Yeshua's miraculous birth, which the
Zeal of Zion’s God accomplished.

I rode a bicycle frae ma Highland estate
The heather was purple, the weather was great
Then my cell phone rang, the news verra bad
Ma hoose was on fire, everything I had
My crypto passwords could go up in smoke
My Ponzi scheme clients would not think that a joke
My offshore accounts, my ill-gotten gains
All turning to ash, all down the drain.
**(Chorus)**
Oh pedal, lad, pedal, yer empire’s ablaze
an orphaned blockchain, an untraversable maze.
From hedge funds to hedges, it’s all gaun wrong
You can’t outrun fraud on a bicycle, son.
I knew there would be hell to greet
So I reversed, pedaled like an athlete
Three miles back I ran into sheep
An endless flock like a mudflow did creep.
I jumped the wall of the M-90, my bike and me
Nearly became a historic debris
A lorry driver honked, let out a curse
I gave an appeasing smile, couldn't get worse.
Jumped over the wall to another rural road
Orange haze rising—I was in panic mode
Then a large stag stepped calmly in my way
Looked at me like he had all day.
A copper on a motorbike came from behind
I thought this was truly the end of the line
I told him the missus and bairns were ahead
But really I had to salvage crypto instead.
He shot in the air to make the deer go away
I made it to the manor, the firemen bade me stay
I saw my years of conning disappear into the sky
A few ashes flew past like a sarcastic goodbye
Noo folk frae the shadows are seeking their fee
They’re no keen on excuses—they’re hunting for me
I’m hiding on Mull where the sea eagles cry
It’s bonnie as heaven… I’m likely tae die
Outwitted by sheep… and a stag wi’ a stare
In Scotland, lad, crime dis-nae get ye far there.
Intellectual peer pressure
The faces change from smiles to sneers
from effusive praises to contemptible jeers.
A man whose wisdom has been seen for years
now forced to face his prideful peers.
A man whose intellect is simply beyond compare
those who read his works just stop and stare.
How can someone hold their own and debate such a man?
His thoughts and reasoning's are as well laid out plans.
His eloquence, his observations, are without any match
outwitted, his enemies, launch and scheme a hateful attack.
He knows their devotion, to unproven theories, is like a religion
He does not cower as he faces their vitriolic words of derision.
The odds are against him, hundreds to one, but he declares his faith in God!
Silence is deafening for a few moments, then one brave soul applauds.
The crowds turn against the two of them, in a heated hateful rage
Ignorance and prideful enmity, is clearly on display!
Without acknowledging that he might be right, they were both voted out!
But, forevermore in the back of their mind there is that lingering doubt...
