Premium Member Tug Mcgraw

Frank Edwin was his real name.
This southpaw went on to garner fame.
With great accomplishments and few regrets,
he became the closer for the New York Mets.
This native of Martinez, California
finished his baseball playing career in Philadelphia.
He is indelibly etched in Phillies fans’ memories
when he struck out Willie Wilson in the World Series.
That was in the magical season of 1980.
What a colorful act on the mound he was to see.
Unfortunately, Tug is not around anymore.
He sadly passed away back in 2004.

Estrelas

Estrelas

Pense: os Sonhos
são como estrelas
se você segui-los,
chega onde quiser chegar.

Benediction For Lord Apple Macintosh

Today the Sunday special brief
iCloud online worship session, I did attend
(via remote support)
     found me feeling pampered,

     when adept technical support
     didst figuratively bend
over backwards, thus aye defend
glorious, righteous,

and zealous Gurus who did expend
their religious fervor, without proselytizing
and sanctified dedication they proffered
as if this secular chap hapt tubby

     a long time Facebook friend
diligently persevered amidst
     my woeful yelping alarm
where bot sized wetbacks, setbacks,

     and drawbacks,
     required a secret char
which this netizen vaguely understood
     as unfair be-tidings disallowing

     thyself to purchase additional farm
ming out iCloud storage
     in the deleterious harm
akin to buggy ah mush swarm

comprised documents
     (painstakingly slaved over with zest)
plus sundry data necessitating mooch hoe
     legal tender (probably every

last red cent of mine) to in vest
concerted efforts of
at least one expert to test
her/his mettle in an attempt

(dim prospect) performing an in quest
to retrieve valuable data lost amidst a nest
of inaccessible "lost" information
     (bantering with computer

     jargon more so jest
with no intention to "FAKE"
     trumpeting minimal knowledge
     judiciously impressed

upon thine fifty plus
shades of gray matter, at my be hest
expressing scant cumulative
     disc cussing duff frag

     minted understanding lest,
a personal goal
     to incapsulate in poetic best
not abandoning frustration
     with this Macbook Pro
cuz, positive experience
     wrought with Apostles eye attest,

so rather then vent
     my spleen in vein
hie desisted
     to rage against the machine,
     and tack toward being urbane

thus, rejoicing with a cherry,
     hearty, and mighty byte hooray,
     asper driving,
     exercising, and foisting

     gentle circuitry vis a vis
neurotransmitters and neuromodulators
     nudging pull-ups
     within cerebral terrain.

Premium Member With Myself and Me

The number of my Destiny is 7.
Solitary Seven it is sometimes called.
My birth path number 5 is fun and sociable,
but honestly, I love to be alone!
Alone I read my books,
alone I write my poems,
and alone I watch the movies I adore.

I love the company of family and friends,
but since my siblings all live far from me
and my own two kids are off and on their own,
and since my friends are mostly all online,
and the people that surround me at my workplace and at church
are mere acquaintances, busy with their own families,
it's by myself I usually can be found.

It's like that time I spent on my first cruise
paid for by my husband's mother to accompany her grown daughter,
a person with whom I share no common interests.
Instead of going with me to attend the talent shows,
the many ship activities like games and competitions
or enjoying karaoke, she was often off alone herself!
Meanwhile I just blended in with all the crowd -
laughing with the members of the cruise,
watching them all dance
(I must admit I longed to have a partner then),
but all in all, I much enjoyed it all even though I mostly was alone.

I have no problem seeing movies by myself.
At matinees I'm sometimes the only person there.
I put my feet up; no one's there to care!
Frugal, I rarely go out to eat.
My husband is so quiet, the few times we eat out,
it would not make much difference
whether he was there with me or not!
I have no friends with whom I go to classes at the gym,
but I am there to exercise, not socialize.
I'm content to have just the right amount of social interaction
every morning when I'm teaching at the school.

Yes, I am a solitary sort. It's always been this way.
In my childhood, alone I read upon my bed
while downstairs my siblings liked to play.
At times I joined in with them. In school I cherished friends
and hung out very often with my pals,
but in the end. . . .
I find enjoyment in many things,
and many of the things I most enjoy
I do quite comfortably
with myself and me!

Santa and Ms Claus

’Twas the night before Christmas and Santa was checking,
That his daughter was ready, the reindeers confessing,
That she’d left her partner for the few days that begged,
For her attention, for her spirit to be released and pegged;
That she’d done all her sit ups and exercises in the gym,
Which she enjoyed every other day with or without him,
That she’d posted her last blog on her Cool Dude site,
About what people values to use for a lonely kid tight;
That she’d bought her last surprise present for her dad,
Online, in the last minute christmas bargain sales to be had;
That she’d bought new boots for this years trek alone,
Since her old ones were worn, holed, and needed sown;
And he asked her if she’d enjoyed her girlfriends’ party,
For christmas cheer and good essence to spread hearty;
And he offered her a sample shampoo he got in the post,
If her friends hadn’t made her hair so glamorous, the most;

She then uploaded a photo of her and Rudolf for Instagram,
Which was viewed by many diversities and nationalities, slam:
So they both took off in sleigh with bells loud with chime,
Because this was the day that was their favourite time.

Merry Christmas everyone! With love

Premium Member Lou Rawls

He was born in Chicago in 1933,
and became one of the best acts anyone could see.
In the fifties, with the “Teenage Kings of Harmony”,
with classmate Sam Cooke, he gained great popularity.
He joined “The Pilgrim Travelers” after the army.
In a South car crash, he was a near fatality.
It took more than a year to regain his memory.

Lou Rawls became popular with his deep velvet voice.
His more than seventy albums with hit songs were choice.
He made his mark in the sixties with a recording
that went to number one called “Love is a Hurting Thing”.
“Lady Love”, You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine,”
and “Natural Man” were his biggest hit songs so fine.
Lou became great with raising funds for some charities
that would help black colleges and universities.
This was a man who achieved so much during his day.
In January 2006, he passed away.

Premium Member I Guess I Am a Poet

A Gemini, I get bored faster than most people walk to their mailbox.
My hands are always moving- painting, cartooning, sewing, gardening.
One day I was stuck at work for eight hours, and no one wanted to see me.
I volunteered to join all conferences, but no one invited me. I am the counselor.

I was sitting in my office staring at my computer and this phrase hit me.
“Why don’t you try writing poetry?” I immediately looked up poetry sites online.
One that sounded user-friendly enticed me, I ran out to my car and got my credit card.
I paid for six months and wrote a poem. It was fun putting it up on the page.

Someone commented, so I put up another poem, and another poem and another poem.
By the end of the night I had posted eight poems, and I was commenting too.
It was like having pen pals all over the world and they were responding to my stuff.
I discovered poetry types that night at home and began trying sonnets and diminished hexes.

Within a month I had tried limericks, ninettes, nonettes,
haiku, haibun, and other types.
The site was filled with nice people who were upbeat and positive
And way too polite to let me know that most of what I was writing was prose.
I did not figure this out for months, but by then it was too late. So, I guess I am a poet.

Bet You Don'T Like To Read Poems

Nicely penned poems are very rare to be adored.
The brilliant wisdom expressed through words is always being ignored.
People care less about sharing what poets want to convey.
They care more about the issues of others; have much more things to say.

A rhyme royal poem is nothing compared to a Facebook meme.
A disdained Dizain is more silent than a Twitter’s scream.
And so my folks will give you thumbs up for a cleavage post.
They get more a thousand hearts than a magnificently written prose.

If poetry can only flabbergast the world once again and trend,
Its words can be passed through ages and transcend.
For what is worth to listen and read is a literary masterpiece.
Not to mention my neighbor who shares rumors online; I never get peace.

If all that is going on in the media can be transposed to poetry,
It would make books of elegies and dramatic monologues in my country.
But I can sense the people’s loss of interest; many poems are ignored.
Nicely penned poems are very rare to be adored.

Note: I always feel that my friends on social media have no care at all about poems that I posted. I don't know but I just find things really very weird.

Read once again Daniel 6, use the New Living Translation which is online for your use for free.

Eye of storm
Slight adjustment east
Just enough
For me; now
I know God kept me so safe
From harms awful reach

Then God spoke
That is a selfish thought
Others prayed
As well too
Thirty-five died and some hurt
Did they not pray, Sara?

I'm wrestling
God, help me out here
One cousin
Who lives more
In its path, You protected
I remember now

I prayed for
Our whole family
But others
Prayed as well
I am sure that they did pray
Well, maybe they didn't

Premium Member Wedding Cakes and Freedom

Melissa and Aaron created wedding cakes
When asked to make one for gays, they declined
The state of Oregon didn't give them any breaks
To religious conscience, the state was blind.

Over a hundred thousand was confiscated to start
They were told to make such cakes in future
Given a gag order, not to say what's in their heart
Then came an online surge of hate

Their life and their kid's lives got threats
Their truck was vandalized, they had to move
Melissa and Aaron may have had regrets
But went to the Supreme court their case to prove.

The U.S. Supreme court said that the state
can't force them to violate their belief
In free lands you shouldn't crush debate
With anonymous messages like a thief.

The Klein's bible condemned how some behave
The Kleins didn't hurt anyone, they left folks alone
To assert their beliefs, they shouldn't have to be brave
And waste years defending against a mob with stones.
