Dear Mama,
I can’t believe this time has come
When you’ve always been the one
To comfort me and help me to see and believe
That everything will work out for the best
Now, it is my turn to say to you, dear Mama,
Everything will turn out ok and you will be fine
Even if you must meet Jesus tonight
I know your heart is right and you trust in the One
Who is God’s one and only Son.
You know I don’t know how I will go on
Without you here to support and encourage me
You’ve always done your job so perfectly
Making me feel like I could always come to you
Dear sweet Mama, How I will miss you if you should go.
Only you can know that this love I have for you
Goes beyond the depths of my heart to my soul
Dear Mama, how I love you and want to tell you…
You are the most important person in the world to me
I love you more than anything
Maybe the last letter poetry contest

Sometimes I wish I could go back in Time,
salivating for intelligent conversation...I think,
Shakespeare would have been interesting --
Most people today, seeming more programmed
than ever before in history – afraid to be alone
with independent thoughts; distracted by
background music, beeps, and screen prompts;
A society that has become reactionary, opposed
to Free-thinking and Self-determining (Ripe for
abuse!)
Would not be surprised to see a Cathedral being
built, Cross on top, "Church of Social Media" --
Next-door to an Abortion Clinic, "Preschool for Applied
Robotic Thinking" --
On the same block a Rehab
for those addicted to Traditional Marriage
and Monogamous Sex....
Didn't know it would hurt this much,
I wasn't prepared for it. I loved your imperfections and the memories I
didn't think I had, flown in abundance
and that is what hurt the most. I'm
honestly left with the good ones and
the bad ones make it better. I'm tearing because I hoped to see to see you again.
The real you and not the lifeless one papa. Your first grandchild will miss you. I'll miss when you scold me for not calling you enough. When you offer me pap in the morning when I visit, even when you know I wouldn't take it. When you jest about giving you a great-grandchild when you had a bunch of grandchildren invading your peace already. I'll miss the vocabulary you use and I have to go search for the meaning. Your wife would miss your little quarrels, how would she stay alone without you now? Your sister. She's the reason I feel more pain, she would be so lonely now. It was just you and her left. This would hurt her so badly and I can't help it because I feel her every pain, she's the closest human I love the most on earth. The young ones will call for you, search for you and knock on your door until they get used to never seeing you again. Rest now, rest well papa. There's no pain anymore.
I hope you have United with my uncles above. Tell them it's been more than a decade and I'm still not over them. I still think about the both of them and it hurts Me like a fresh wound melted in salt. We love you and this is a great loss for us all. I didn't think I would wake up this morning with such news. My eyes are swollen and my head bangs. I really wish I wasn't miles away. Watch over us now Grandpa. Adieu Papa.
My muse died today.
Although how could I lose
abuse
or amuse
what was never mine to use
as I see fit,
hear fitness,
feel fitfully?
This muse dies tonight
not from old age
as I had long predicted
must be my sad and unread case,
but for a new voice
or vice,
for deeper lyrics
and wider melodies
and globally local choreography
perhaps a ridiculous younger person's game.
They say
not to write, unless you must;
Not to paint
or sing
or dance
or become a prostitute
unless you would otherwise eco-bust
ego-lust away this lifeline.
If you can live with something,
most anything, else
to occupy your time
and pay the rent,
then do
and be those more civil relationships instead.
It never occurred to me
perhaps because They didn't say so,
I might do most everything else
so I could retire into writing
and reading
and singing
and dancing
But not prostitution
because no one would pay
for what I can not give away
with integrity intact.
I miss this muse already
but doubt she even remembers me,
a right hand
useful
responding to her labored demands
too ponderously telling,
psychic yelling,
when I longed to show in grace
integrity's newest face
rhythm pattern pace
divinely humane race
robustly timeless space
without dissonant disgrace
Showing
not telling,
Belonging
not longing,
Dancing
not marching,
Singing
not shouting
to and with and for
tomorrow's mute muses,
today's deaf listeners,
amusing to move on
with overflowing emotions
not mere museless motions.
Now I have broken
my only two rules of unself-conscious writing.
1. Never mention the muse aloud
or dead
for She abhors a nonvacuum
of light,
and
2. Never write
about writing,
For the same non-reason
that optimal sexual
sensual
neural experience
cannot happen
if my sole
and sold-out purpose
is this Great ******
of we-consciousness.
My more retiring amusement died today.
Although how could I lose
abuse
or ever timelessly muse
what was never mine to use?
You thought you were invincible,
blessed by being so young.
You thought you had plenty of time
to cut loose and have some fun.
But consequence has caught on up,
your health falling into gloom.
Your youth, it cannot save you now,
I am coming for you soon.
Your spent all your years building
an empire that made you rich.
You did what most could never do,
and you earned it without tricks.
You’ve made sure your children will
grow up with their silver spoons,
but all that money is nothing to me,
I am coming for you soon.
You brought the world magnificence,
beautiful works of timeless art.
Your images amazed the brain,
and fired up the open heart.
Your name will be forever known,
this fact will always be true,
but all your fame, it cannot change this,
I am coming for you soon.
The child in the hospital bed,
struck down by a cancerous plague,
the doctors, they have tried their best
but this one they cannot save.
It seems so cruel to do this
to a child still in early youth,
but tragedy is called such for a reason,
I am coming for him soon.
By now I think you understand
just who and what I am.
My harvest has taken everyone,
save one soul in Judean lands.
But He was the one who made me
and set this task that I must do,
He has a plan to save you all,
that’s why I’m coming for your soon.
Do not believe the old fictions,
because in truth I’m Heaven-sent.
I come to help with the transition,
I’ve never been malevolent.
For good folks death is not an end,
in fact it is quite a boon.
He means to have you by his side,
I’m coming for you soon.
Don’t be afraid…
the pain will come to an end…
I give you my word.
For those who wonder where I am
or where I can be found
I'm in the mid west of my country
in a well known college town
How I got here or purpose being
might be easily explained
but looking at this thing called providence
a street just one block away
The hand of God is mighty strong
much stronger than we'll ever know
but trusting God with unseen faith
Is always the next place to grow
My newest job I tried to avoid
all these long years
but being humbled by my God
I no longer have that fear
I applied my art at being the best
and going beyond my duty
but really it was simple
just do what my conscious told me
Life has connections
and sometimes they are people
but making the right connections
may not always be someone we know
I have yet to see the end of this journey
somewhat still possessed by the middle
I think I see where this is going
and the miracle just started showing
But in my imagination
I have this budding dream
I'm in the right place and at the right time
What's this showing in my mind?
Perhaps what God has made me will finally come to life
I am so much more different than what I was in life
But I do posses things that God gave to people I like
Now that most of them are dead, I must continue the fight
I don't know how this story ends
I think I'm just in the middle
Of Gods plans for me I know very little
But if what should happen, happens.
And if life takes off with me
if dreams came true for me and you
I wonder where I'll be.
Libby Lou was a professional intermeddler
She had her hands in all most all of the towns people’s pots
Adding carrots and potatoes to some, digging tomatoes out of others
Criticizing the amount of thyme and pepper,
Constantly tasting, moving between their houses, burners and pots
Taking out, putting in, advising everyone, fixing things
Stirring, stirring stirring. Constantly stirring.
She came up missing in the middle of winter, chili fixing season.
We did not find Lilly Lou’s body until the park thawed out in March.
Murder was afoot.
There were potholders placed over her dead not-now-prying eyes.
It must have been a woman killer, the police chief said.
It is potholders, right? A woman’s weapon.
But wait, what about Marty, the short order chef.
Does he use potholders?
Coroner could not figure out cause of death.
Police gave up after a year or two.
Too many suspects.
Whole town knew Lou.
She had been fiddling in their stews for a long time
Criticizing everyone’s pot.
Just over four years ago
A question was asked
Do we get a pet
And answer our ask
So we consulted the kids
As they gave us choices
For in our family
We listen to voices
A cat would be nice
But sadly not
As we have asthma in the family
So a cat was not sought
No bird or rabbit or even a fish
Was in the thoughts of our children's wish
One thought, that did spring to mind
A breed of dog of the most beautiful kind
They are small and cuddly
With different colours of coats
But the one we went for
And we forever dote
His name is Digger
Which is his Pedigree name
He is a Golden Cocker Spaniel
From dog show fame
Through good days and bad days
He is always happy and playing
Our most delightful pet
Who treats all days the same
rain soaked sakura
beguiling beauty burgeoning...
blushing blooms cascade

*sakura is a Japanese word for cherry trees and each year in April they burst into the most exquisite pink blooms; a most glorious sight to behold and one I was lucky enough to see in April 2010 in the picturesque city of Kyoto, Japan.

The world is full of violence, death, chaos and so confusing
And it seems that in most of us our minds we are losing
But there is this one thing that I want you to take to heart
That no matter what's happening in your life you are important to God
Now God can't come down to earth and fix things with His own hands
So He puts us in positions to carry forth His plans
Yes, God sent us a play book perfect in its commission
He just wants us to remember what is our position
To be in that place where we have the ability to receive the Holy Spirit
Positioned in that place where we are strongly connected to It
Now able to download the anointed word of God
Positioned to take it into the depths of our hearts
To understand that we may have to leave our comfort zones
Believing God will never forsake us nor leave us alone
To clean out that hard drive full of memories that won't allow us to move ahead
To remove the cookies from your chip that are unused, unread and dead
Able to let go of long ago hurts, pains and bitterness
Making room to download God's righteousness
Now with the capability to upgrade and receive the heavenly key
For you are important to God and He wants you to increase
So allow God to position you where you will prosper and be strong
With the key of perseverance in the place where you belong
For God will upgrade you through trials and tribulations
As the sweetest victories always come after difficult situations
Yes, the world will judge you based on your performance and whatever you do
While God is only concerned with your character
and the level of perseverance that's in you
Now perfectly transitioned with godly maturity
For you are important to God and He'll send godly opportunities
Just don't allow the enemy to discern your expectations
And give it the opportunity to determine your destination
Perfectly positioned, fully loaded, upgraded and transitioned
As you are important to God so go forth with your Great Commission
