Death Gives His Word
You thought you were invincible,
blessed by being so young.
You thought you had plenty of time
to cut loose and have some fun.
But consequence has caught on up,
your health falling into gloom.
Your youth, it cannot save you now,
I am coming for you soon.
Your spent all your years building
an empire that made you rich.
You did what most could never do,
and you earned it without tricks.
You’ve made sure your children will
grow up with their silver spoons,
but all that money is nothing to me,
I am coming for you soon.
You brought the world magnificence,
beautiful works of timeless art.
Your images amazed the brain,
and fired up the open heart.
Your name will be forever known,
this fact will always be true,
but all your fame, it cannot change this,
I am coming for you soon.
The child in the hospital bed,
struck down by a cancerous plague,
the doctors, they have tried their best
but this one they cannot save.
It seems so cruel to do this
to a child still in early youth,
but tragedy is called such for a reason,
I am coming for him soon.
By now I think you understand
just who and what I am.
My harvest has taken everyone,
save one soul in Judean lands.
But He was the one who made me
and set this task that I must do,
He has a plan to save you all,
that’s why I’m coming for your soon.
Do not believe the old fictions,
because in truth I’m Heaven-sent.
I come to help with the transition,
I’ve never been malevolent.
For good folks death is not an end,
in fact it is quite a boon.
He means to have you by his side,
I’m coming for you soon.
Don’t be afraid…
the pain will come to an end…
I give you my word.
