If our Moon could be judged as a sex
Female, male- some of both, it's complex
Since its phases do change
And its shapes rearrange
Its true gender could be multiplex.
Glowing round on a clear starry night
Poets think it's a she when they write
Perfect curves and a smile
Moon is set to beguile
smitten lovers to swoon at her sight.
But less feminine- Moon takes a turn
Looking gray amid storm clouds that churn
Like a sailor at sea
The Moon then seems to be
Manning tides as his only concern.
So, for sure, when we think of the Moon
As a gender, find out very soon
It's the setting that shows
In the way that it glows
How we feel its portrayals commune.

donning sheepish pirate(s)
at heady roiling waterway
fending off trolling rapscallion
much more thrilling

in Palatinate, Germany circa 1789
moved to nearby village of Kallstadt
where his grandson, Friedrich Trump,
the grandfather of Donald Trump,
born in 1869 gamboled
upon grassy fairway
whereby grandson notorious

but especially renowned
windblown coiffure
kept intact courtesy "fake" hairspray
said product he did fulminate
against and inveigh,
cuz he envied (as does yours truly)
the trademark thatch sported by J.F.K.
At long last, a stalwart adept candidate
unwittingly saddled
with onerous figurative freight
COVID-19, homelessness, joblessness
sober statistics impossible mission to inflate,
whose physique slender and lightweight

he quite savvily can operate
personable and suave demeanor doth resonate
allowing, enabling, and providing
law and order to materialize,
and accomplishments downplayed

Concern still prevails
regarding that woman user

If prognostications allowed me,
at bedtime, when a supine American,
one garden variety and generic
sleepy Joe among madding crowd
will experience glee
at prospective buoyancy, decency,
fraternity, harmony, jollity, levity,
nobility, prosperity, serenity, tranquility...
wishing no ill will toward

now ranks among status quo

Chronological benchmark ye did attain
plus major purchase of second automobile
(2002 Subaru Impreza) skill ye did gain
curious if family/friends helped ye maintain
being calm, cool, and collected -
quite a taxing acquisition, one need be sane.
Said significant decision
perhaps makes heart skip a beat,
but analogously, and literally
puts ye in driver seat
tending to maintenance
of vehicle sweet
figurative taste of liberation,
while familiarizing feet
to become acclimated
accelerating at velocity
with precious fleet,
obeying Sir Isaac Newton's
first law of motion.
More important gently
and timely to apply brake
lest police siren wails
finding ye to quake
thus requiring thee
to summon nerves of steel,
cuz friendly police thirst

issuing moving violation

unless fatal accident occurs,
whereby family and friends attend wake
mourning beloved daughter
forever ruing grievous

Even after time tested practice
acquiring consummate skill
experiencing diverse situations
manning steering wheel will
unexpectedly introduce during
different seasons frightful scenarios
analogous to getting
spooked by ghostly chill

setting sterling pride to self
giving ego uber lyft till

I can only conclude,
That you are suffering from temporary blindness ,
And that you will recover your eyesight,
Before you find yourself alone for real and for keeps.
I pray every day that the recovery will give you,
Insight into the fact,
That others are close by,
With the same needs as you,
The same headaches as you,
The same excuses as you,
And who need help just as much as you,
But still manage to recognise that there are others in the same boat,
And are frantically manning the pumps,
To keep us all afloat.
Not blindly rushing about,
Unaware of the damage they are doing,
To structural integrity,
Or the potential cost in time, money, and lives,
Their blindness can cause.
Looking forward to a time when you,
See us,
The way we see you,
As the alternative,
Is downright heart-breaking.
I flew to Chicago last Friday night
my great uncle was turning a hundred.
The plan was to fly-in Friday, party Saturday,
and fly out Sunday. No missed school.
The air felt colder in Chicago, the wind really bit,
and the sun seemed to be at an odd angle.
We stopped by the beach of a lake so large
that there were waves breaking on the beach.
The party was great. EVERYONE was there.
But then there was the choreography of luck.
I woke up sick Sunday morning - really sick -
deathly sick, you know the drill, weak
like my muscles were falling off my bones.
At 8am Charles called - I should have met him.
I couldn’t lift the phone - I poked the button.
“I’m not going anywhere,” I told him before falling back asleep.
KLUNK I heard my hotel room door open, it was Charles.
He came in looking like he expected a threat.
I could only open my eyes for a second.
“I’ve GOT it,” I told him, (not knowing what ‘it’ was)
“Get out, save yourself.”
So went Sunday and Monday - I didn’t eat or drink.
Charles canceled flights, extended hotel room bookings,
and the car rental. Finally, Tuesday morning, he said,
“I think you’d better try.” So somehow, we flew and we made it.
There was a famous football player across the aisle from me
He’s retired now, like all of my heroes - Brady, Manning.
He played for the Ravens, I’d hated the ravens, I’d hated him,
the way you hate someone just because they’re great
but they play for the other team. I didn’t tell him, and sadly,
I didn’t warn him that I might just throw up on him (I was masked).
Charles bought me one of those horseshoe pillows and I passed out.
Before I knew it I was back in the dorm.
Being sick and helpless, away from the comforts of home is the worst.
I’ll have to remember that - someday - If I’m a doctor.
“Situations”
In the morning when I rise
On Sundays watching the game with the guys
At the table when I eat
In the car bobbing to a beat
At the job on the paper chase
In a session with smoke in my face
In the church listening to the Word
In my notebook combining nouns and verbs
In the gym while making baskets
On the court hitting balls with rackets
In my bed lying all alone
On the field trying to reach the end zone
At the bar buying a drink
Under the stars just trying to think
At the board ironing my clothes
In the club throwing them boes
At the house just trying to chill
At Mama’s house enjoying a meal
At the track kicking up dust
On the corner catching the bus
On the couch taking a nap
In the circle trying to rap
At the mall buying some shoes
In the room feeling the blues
On the porch staring up at the sky
In the encyclopedia trying to find out why
In the yard manning the grill
Under the weather waiting to be healed
In a boat pulling fish out the water
Under the hood putting on a new starter
On the side of the road fixing a flat tire
On my knees saying prayers getting ready to retire
In the kitchen cooking it up for my lady
At Victoria’s Secret buying a gift for my baby
With my boys bragging on my girl
On the clock slaving just to give you the world
But regardless where I’m at and regardless what I do
The only thing constant is I always think of you

Before you are handed
Your ice cream cone
From the man
Manning the ice cream van
Adorned freshly with a flake
nuts and sprinkles
And whichsoever sauce of your
own very choice and persuasion
Just be wary of the passing fairies
and angel's
Getting to grips with it before you first
Because even they themselves believe
All work and no fun or play
May leave you exhausted feeling
down and sick
Sometimes everyone needs to take
a well deserved break during their day
As it is going nowhere
As neither are you
We all for the most of us
Are merely come to think of it
Just running fools errands
In order to complete
One more day
Of which one can only hope and pray
Much many more
Are in future to come
If you indeed find yourself in possession
Of a rude state of health
And mind your step
And so to busses and vans as well
Whence approaching a busy road
or intersection
Banquet of people like wildflowers, shemales swaying thier county sides from left right, funky cat shoes, bikinis
all that stuffs, some religious ones were odd though.
Every male manning his Oars. Things seem clearer now .
Some smiling in between pains, some laughing while
the pain is under, some buying attitudes some selling .
They say "life is such a business," "buh what think u?"
Me!," "what u do with it today is what u get from it the
Morrow & what u do away today is what u
do without the Morrow."
Suddenly Nene came, but Dada has just gone on a sudden journey
never to return. Momma is lonely and I can't comfort her.
Lola is a bleeding heart and Junior has marked another sexy figure.
So I roadbed my phases & titled it " three phases of my life "
"experience is a name that men give to their mistakes"
Sorry your kids can't come into
school today
As all the teachers are out on strike
wanting better pay
So are the doctor's and nurses and
paramedics as well
If you are sadly unfortunately feeling
unwell or have any form or other of
medical emergency or have an untimely
fall
As they also want a fairer living wage
to take home at the end of the month
And even if you wanted to go anywhere
and don't have your own car
I am also sorry to inform you that both
the buses and trains are currently out
on strike as well
So it seems like nobody is going anywhere
at the present moment in time
Because you can't or may be unable
to go or get anywhere anyways
And chances are no one will be there
or is probably at and manning their
work stations anyway
As everyone and everyone seems to
be currently out on strike
Seeking and searching for better pay
come what may
Only problem is nothing seems able
to be or is getting done for all and
sundry
And the negotiations between both and
all parties concerned
Don't seem to getting or going nowhere
either
Because and after COVID there
is hardly little or no money left in the
pot we are more so in debt since
world war II
