Love Poetry Needs Your Help

Love may stifle and kill,
may break a tenderness over jagged rocks.
Love lingers after its burial,
it crashes into slow burns.

If you look for love it will evade,
waylay and capture, it may
entice you into a haunting fire.

Fall in love anyway
God made you a chemical reaction
so that you could be a catalyst
for the prayers of the penitent.
Love will bring lasting joy
when you suffer it to remake you.

When you love
in the very gene pool of life,
that pool will be your ocean,
it will become you
as you become it.

At the very least
it will produce true or raw poetry.
Poetry you can keep updating
as you travel on.

Poet in the House

He hits the snooze alarm twice
before getting up. He’s already
been up three times during the night.
Two cats are waiting for him downstairs
but for now they leave him alone.
He wistfully looks out the window
as gray skies cast a soft glow.
He says he had a good dream
but can’t recall.
He calls out a woman’s name
but I’ve never met her.
His right shoulder aches.
He mentions something
about the years he bears.
A ravine lies at the end of the street
and bare trees reach for clouds
as they wait for spring.
He says that life on a dead end
is more than it seems.
He jots down a line or two
on a blank page. He plays
a song or two on You tube
and lets inspiration stir
for a moment.
His fingers stroke keys
and bring a poem to life
then holds up the creation
to light.
He showers in haste
pets the cats
and they watch him
as he runs out the door
and goes for a drive.

How do I thee .let me give you praise
How do I love thee,for your winsome ways;
In these eyes still my bride ,and still
Your wedding ring,I wear with pride;
These many years of marriage cheer
Two hearts as one,with love held dear;
Each others secrets to confide,
Needs and desires to never hide;
Tribulations together bear
Witness,these love-lines we share;
How do you love me,this poem will chart
The unease we notice,if apart;
How do you love me,no words can convey
Your touch,your kiss,your gaze,thrill me each day.

A faithful love,will stay unique,leaning,
Mutually we ,in submission seek.

Words On the Page

Words on the page

A face and a hand in a grand illustration,
still in the corner I hide
Formed of this feel and its lengthened frustration,
longing to come but inside

Thoughts that I bear, like a weight ever growing,
changing my whole point of view
Staring the crowd it is who I am knowing,
given the old and the new

Reaching a bit, to evade their detection,
what would the words seem to say
Scared and amiss and in fear of rejection,
cast but the hours away

A shrug of my shoulders, the look on my face,
all as an act and a dream
For I have fallen this road to retrace,
words on the page they do scream

Take what you want, it won’t wait any longer,
nothing to lose but regret
Tell her your feelings and watch it grow stronger,
jump in, get both your feet wet

Still I stand firm with my legs feigning motion
fearful of answers to find
Happiness laughs like a fool hearted notion
wishing to only rewind

When you appear and my pulse reacts pounding
courage I force to my veins
Reading a poem of love so resounding
checking my voice as it strains

Seeing you smile in the grandest expression
taking my trembling hand
Sighing my words are your deepest obsession
gladly you do understand

Now as we dip in the future’s endeavors,
drenched in the moments apart
For in this fountain we’re swimming together,
writing of love from the heart

Well, I did it again. I wrote this for a contest and THEN read the rules…duh.
It’s too long but...I wrote it so here it is

When I was a child, I love Charlie’s angels
Now I’m adult, I love Poetry Soup’s angels
Top of them are our beloved Community Builders
Leading Ladies, the Princesses are our dearest PD, Skat and Anne Lise.
Many of them are on the list
But our angels with their support is boundless ever since
Very talented poets, so welcoming…they lovingly encourage
To snuggle down in our second home as we share, spill the ink.
Since my lines of poem are only limited to ten
Get one more, Princess Sarah K and no more line so I end.

My Beloved Lady

extreme polite and honest figure
she is my owner when to others speak
                before her every mouth silence
any ravishing awful look stops ...

               So she feels admired
               in dying modesty it compares
to an angel who came from heaven
showing miracles so lit up ...

candid appears to those who contemplate her
passing in the eyes sweetness of heart
that only captures those who feels her

From her mouth flies, when inspired
a spiritual breeze, full of love
that goes on saying from the heart, "sigh"

Unconditional Love

Hey you, the one residing in my Heart !!
Awe..My dear soul-mate wake up and listen to me for a while: My ideal match,
I know your pure true love..
You're the one who loves me earnestly
provoking my hormones to glow all time;
Always offering me a bucket of encouragement whence I'm withering;
Refreshing me with the best memories
to spark up my growling brain;
Hushing my tensed heartbeat by
your rhythmical romantic tone..
Ha ha ..Stop tickling me.Okay if I continue, endless may it seem. Will cease my morning trouble.
Another few seconds hear my words that bubble..
My love, you yearn to witness my smiling face everytime..Isn't it? Oh yes I will Smile.
Only wish you always be with me.
You are my strength. You are my World.
I extend my naked soul to combine with you as a token of thanksgiving..
My heart is pregnant already with your overflowing love.Would nourish it with Care.Accept this magical word~Thankyou !! Always loving you...
Yes, you may now continue your sleep.
Be ready for the future incoming messages.

You give me the desire
a love for composing
word symphonies
yet you give me
the cross of mediocrity
to bear
day by day to know
there are others
who are prodigies
and I must hear
the thunderous applause
while at best
I get the praise
of those who seek to console
my dying soul
I must eat my heart alive
while the words burn inside
demanding expression
soul confession
unborn masterpiece extrication

I fall to my knees
and plead
While I beat my chest
in fervent heat
"Bless me...Bless me...
Make me like him
Make me like her
Make me more than all of these
Make me the best
a word genius
For this love of words will not set me free
Till it is MY name that they chant
My name on their tongues
My name branded on their minds
the Maestro of Word symphonies
Oh, Let it be ME, ME!
BLESS ME!"

Yet...
day after day
night after night
and in my dreams
I see, I see....
I see them take their bows
I see their work showcased
praised
immortalized
while I?
I sit at my desk
and try once more
to write
to...WRITE
the sublime....

The movie Amadeus rocked my to the core. "In it, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was killed by his jealous rival, the court composer Antonio Salieri. Salieri cleverly took advantage of Mozart's fondness for drink, his financial crisis, and his obsession with pleasing his deceased father, and tricked Mozart into working himself to death."

Murry Abraham did a wonderful job of portraying Salieri. There is a scene where he argues with God about the wonderful musical talent he has gifted Mozart, who seems undeserving to him, while HE has to live with mediocrity in musical talent. I can relate. I LOVE poetry. It is my life, and yet...I have to watch as others write so effortlessly and reach the pinnacle of fame. It is hard to do. :( Some days are better than others. On the good days, I'm happy that I can write a poem now and again. On the bad days....I want to cry for not being another Shakespeare....or Donne, or Dickinson, or Gibran, or Rumi, or....and the list is endless.

A Perfect Song

I know why it stopped to rain
I understand every bit of your pain
How an emotion twisted
Can leads to an ill-fated end

All I need is one chance
To take away the hates
The tears suppressing you
Making the sky turn away from blue

It is not easy harboring a negative past
It's like the clock ticking anti clockwise
Nothing is going to work outright
Don't need a soothsayer to tell you that

Can you let me pull my world close to you?
So you can see the picture in full
Take you back to your best memory
When you used to be happy

All my life, I tried to write a perfect song
But the keys to the note are misconstrued
The moment, I set my eyes on you
I found the inspiration needed, I found love in you

It is all I needed to compose a perfect love song
I cannot wait to play it to you all day long
I hope this brings your smile back
As you listen to the lyrics in the track

To you what more can I say
So much fun for me this form is…

Afraid I am already addicted to this

Playing with words from the heart they come
Playing with words from the heart they come
Already to this afraid I am addicted
From the heart playing-they come from the heart

Hooked on verses of every kind
Hooked on verses of every kind
Toying with words, moving the lines
Toying with words, moving the lines
Of every kind hooked on verses
Moving the lines-toying with words

To you this form say more
With words and verses of every kind
Already addicted moving the lines
From the heart hooked on to this
Afraid they already come playing
With so much fun.
