In earlier year pages
there were the time of sages
prophesying of things to come,
but today, it is the ground that rises to speak of nature spun
the messages of what may yet be if heard without heed
if history remains forgotten and unbelieved.
Rumbles and shockwaves scored
tremble on the land and shores
windswept dreams of magnificent edifices rose then torn
and the sky grayed and clouds were restlessly formed
along the surface of the ocean storms forewarned
to respond in upheaval irretrievable.
Beneath the towers made by man
everyone and everything is washed away to sand
and in the aftermath of the world's demise,
soft somber whimpers scour foolish man's pride
and as it all begins to disappear by fires seared
the empty earth cries.
colicky shadows
sad mimes
time wanders
lover's treasured ballad
a circuitous serenade
melody familiar
rolls
echoing
irretrievable lyrics that stay
conscious
and your absence
this present offers
stony pillows
nights
upon days
an uncompelled heart
following
a paper plane's pathetic
trajectory
wakerife emptiness
most indebted
shamefully to dissatisfaction
knives that cut thick
and the unbearable balm of wounded cellos
Snow gathered momentum to a chorus of confusion
Echoes of tortuous silence
A vacuum of restless reprieve
Like moist drift sand it spread its treacherous message
Opened trap doors of innocence
Coalesced sinkhole’s dredged mud
Answering unspoken questions it decanted crystals of pain
Touched sentient clouds in transit
Sounded fog horns in distant mist
Before spring melted its steadfast grip on a slippery path
Night fell onto wild thunderous icicles for
Shadows beginnings and irretrievable end
Under cover of ice in the underworld of impermanent frost
The journey man brushed defeat
In cold blood’s sad circular flow
Endless void refused to halt rock bottom’s crushing arrest
Torched dreams once light faded
Shed darkness oblivion and surrender
Snow boots and shoe strings draped a noose of relief
Suffocation took one ultimate breath
Embraced nothingness and final demise
And yet the midnight sun sent just one single glimmering ray
A threadbare rope ladder of shivering hope to guide
Him to remove the pick axe from a lost mindless brain
A comet sparked fire from rage and ember from blizzards
The moon croaked on its mocking laughter’s disguise
For an avalanche had protected a glimpse of his soul

I must have lost my friends,
I should not have clicked "send",
I meant to email you instead
My mind was half asleep,
I called them lazy sheep,
now they cut me dead.
I don’t know what it was,
Maybe just because
The mailing list starts with "A"
Now I'm so uptight
I stared at that screen all night
The screen that led me astray
(chorus)
There is no hack
That can take it back,
No magic “undo” key.
Friends may be sheep,
But the cost was steep,
When the truth-teller was me.
(bridge)
Next time I’ll pause and breathe,
Count to ten before bytes leave.
Read it twice before I click.
Because now I feel sick,
I jumped backwards off the crag,
The cats escaped out of the bag.
In social effigy I hang
No sense of humor in that gang
I've become a hermit living in caves
A wild eyed maniac who rants and raves
I still feel the hurt, still feel the pang.
When I hit that key, and the first phone rang.
Luna appears
pale, pocked,
and blemished by time;
rising majestically above the horizon
to traverse the ebony dome
of the night sky.
And as a Goddess,
She sits high above the planet,
monitoring the comings and goings
of humanity:
an unenviable enterprise.
For Man is a pernicious invader:
polluting the pristineness of space
with thousands of bits of accumulated junk.
And yet, it seems, nothing can dampen
Man's enthusiasm
for the exploration of space.
No matter the irretrievable, encircling debris,
left orbiting the Earth in His wake
as He attempts to touch the face of God.
Wordsmith's worst nightmare
fortunately thwarted courtesy
mine tall tale telling flair.
Mine irretrievable brilliant masterpiece...
all for naught after mental cogs and wheels
I did apply creative juice metaphorical grease
regarding tour de force pièce de résistance writing
forever lost to the annals of human history.
So much for escaping to paradise island
(Garden of Eden) and experiencing zen
Impossible mission to earn untold yen
concerning prosaic poem/ poetic prose titled
The old battleaxe and her henchwomen
irrecoverable linkedin to sinking feeling
hours, days, weeks... all spent for naught

A transcendent awakening
occurred within noggin of one simian
a clothed outlier caged within human zoo
predicated upon his overactive imagination
inextricably favorable ratings did woo,
albeit ephemerally savored renown, and true

brief brush with fame and glory

that charming humble fellow

I once was childlike, pure of thought. I tasted and opened my eyes to the world; became flesh. Within myself, I occasionally lose all aspects of life. In doing so, my thoughts diverge from common sense, to irretrievable loss as past happiness. Definite conceptual knowledge of reality and an obedient witness inspired by God's word. Love showed me the purest joy; a yearning thirst willing to attain. Without love in my world, there is no world, but sadness and pain, a non-existing life. Without faith, how do I have hope? Love makes me feel excitement within my frame. The presence of the Holy Spirit, giving me hope and faith. Regaining my sight, seeing the world through the eyes of a child.
through his eyes we are
eternally his children-
he sees our life needs

Without your friendship I have gone astray
I'm lost in love without your heart to show the way
Roaming around I watched adulation turn dire
Looking for you brings wayward desire
Searching all day forfeiting devoutness
You are absent and I find fondness
I missed you at a turn and found devotion
Adrift from you and I noticed emotion
I skipped my chances and saw a yearning
Took the long road and witnessed passion burning
Scanning the sky I detected a crush
Hidden from you I saw tenderness blush
Invisible to you I gazed at delight
Irretrievable affection is out of sight
I glimpsed at fidelity while it was at sea
Disappeared respect is absent in me
Without your friendship I have gone astray
I'm lost in love without your heart to show the way
I preached to my flock, "you voted them in
"The knaves and fools who did freedom in.
"I know a new place to settle upon
The hills and the vales of Avalon."
"We'll take a stout fleet, built for you all
We'll leave our mistakes; we'll stand again tall
It's a magical place, where wishes come true
There's no other choice, no more we can do."
"You've took rights for granted, now you grieve
Come to the island, you won't want to leave
The stars will be silver, the moon will be gold
The veil will be lifted; the magic take hold."
We sailed out of Boston, and out of Maine
Took cover in the clouds, hid in the rain
Then we saw it, rising from the sea
A green pleasant land, where men still were free.
But a man rowed out in a hollowed kayak
He got close to my sailboat, shouted "turn back".
He spoke to me; his stern face made me shiver:
"Don't promise what you cannot deliver."
I said "we have nowhere to go, freedom fell
"If we must storm, we'll storm gates of hell
"We take our chances in your bay by the sea
"We've paid our dues; we want to be free."
Over the velvet land was a misty veil
We tried to move forward, but to no avail
A force pushed us back, from that life-raft land:
The wind had become an invisible hand.
Some of us made it back to a blood red dawn
We lost the dream of emerald Avalon
Almost made it, almost found a new start
So close, so far, the pain lasts in my heart.
for love too sometimes conflict inevitable
even with desires rested life not so simple
for we live not alone and justice must prevail
others depend upon us so we must not fail
to defend as of ability path of righteousness
outcomes as any heart open in graciousness
yet by specious reasoning wrong looks right
so to get to clarity we employ spherical sight
rotating polarities and positions and opinions
visualising with the detractor our divine union
before embarking upon any action irretrievable
we dismiss our own ego cravings inexhaustible
thereafter what will be will be
