‘babes you need UV protection’

from top to tail and midsection

‘I’m African don’t be daft’

quite insulted she laughed

a masterpiece of self deception

but the tan worshipper in Cape Town

decided her skin must get more brown

took a book to sun

but it was ’Shantaram’

now she got blisters and a burnt frown

the sequel is called ‘Mountain Shadow’

900 pages to become quite aglow

thought she reflected her lesson

from scripted obsession

and consumed part two in the snow

she became frosted in flakes and purblind

‘babes some advice if you don’t mind’

the book has dangerous thickness

and then there is altitude sickness

Mount Kilimanjaro can be unkind

now she reads reclined in the boudoir

fact fiction fantasy and mysterious lore

Hawaiian tropic neath pajamas on cutis

sun shades and bedsores on gluteus

and wonders what else reading has in store

should she try with fins snorkel and mask

but corals sting and sharks have a blast

a most unappealing notion

why not apply sun lotion

and make misconception a thing of the past

REALLY !

I was enjoying perusing men’s shirts at my regular thrift store ~ my husband had a million shirts but in my little head you could never have too many. That afternoon I had met up with my long-time buddy and he was searching a few feet away for his own treasures.

Out of the blue this stranger blurted something out to me, I didn’t recognize her and I didn’t understand what she was saying. She repeated something about the shirts I was looking at but it didn’t make sense to me so I casually smiled and went on my merry way.

It took a while to realize that I did know her and that she had made reference to my husband... and that strange tone she took with me was the same as if she had caught ‘my friend and I’ sneaking out of a seedy rent-by-the-hour motel room. What?!

I don’t know if I was more insulted by the insinuation that my husband had a cheating wife or that I didn’t deserve better than being taken out to a thrift store.

. people will think
. what they will
. no rhyme or reason

An Ugly Duckling

There was an ugly duckling,
Isolated herself in a stream,
Unable to show to the world,
As hidden as a treasure in the wood.

Everybody laughed at her,
Pitied, Insulted, and judged,
All she had to do was cried,
But forgave them, she really tried.

That time she made a dream,
“Someday, I will be like a queen,
To be known and be respected,
To be treated fairly and to be accepted.

Many years had passed,
That once a shy ugly duckling,
Spread her pretty wings,
Become a proud swan celebrating.

Transformed to be what she wished for,
Praised and considered youth’s molder,
A professional and a dedicated teacher,
Nothing is impossible, believe in God and say a prayer

Than all those whom promote killing
as progress science has said life begins in the womb
shade it which ever way you truly wish
shows an aggressive side which is very heartless
to say the least because i know
how deeply you have insulted me
in every way from having an opinion or sense
plain as ice to be seen on my stand in the protection of life
are you trying overturn my good values
shame on you with such ugly agendas towards others
also very aggressive i find cursing my existence
abort like my view trying to overpower my comment on an article
so sad really focus your energy on your children
not killing other peoples I lost a child
you even try to dehumanise my thought process
that is sick in my book of life long live our children's rights

The Church of Rejects

Hidden in the valleys
Towered by mighty peaks
Lies the church of rejects
The church of those called weak

Those the powerful sent home
Out of strong belief
That they were a contaminant
Not worthy of the Chief

Rejected by mankind,
And seeking hopeful refuge
They travel long and far
To the Church who comforts me and you

They feed them bread and give them wine
And embrace them as they dine

See, the Church of rejects--
Who bear the pain of unacceptance
And watch rejection of the truth--

Is ministered by the one insulted
Humiliated
Murdered
Mutilated
Used as justification for those elected
The very men who cause rejection

Is ministered
By the one and only God above
The giver of light and truth

Rubato's Tenth of Stave's

The part of Holy Week in Spain where participants wear capirotes (pointed hoods) and robes is called the Nazarenes
She spok
e his name and he found it slanderous.Hearing her voice
after what he had been told. It was polite to find humor in
the words and find
interesting knowledge from interpolations of his name
but when she spoke his name he became insulted. He responded to
"honey" and "Lover': but just the mention of his name from her lips
ture. She tamed his fury with tickets to two spectacles during Holy Wek.
They would fly from California to Spain and then to The desert for pleasure.
While in Spain they went to a tent party.there he had asked her
for her hand in marriage. Romance and religion, she spoke "darling" are we to me couple at an altar. He smiled and said "if only you are willing my love" :"one must give proper credit to it's illustrator, the instructions often aren't clear first: but when you understand what you are doing it can be a cake walk!" Might we then dine on the cake as man and wife.
When love is romantic it encompasses the complexities and simplisties of togetherness."Rubato: Rubato!", I lovest thee she said in an passionate tone,
Rubato she had spoke his name and this time he just felt her presence, he kissed her like a lover, full of passion and purpose!

Premium Member In Honor of the Earth

The globe doth spin, as we walk perpendicular.
I find, this fact, indeed this most peculiar.
Stammering, stuttering we yammer about fixing the earth!
Yet read the poetry, full of how, "it does not work".
Perhaps we should all look in the  mirror and wonder why,
The universe outshines our peevish, constant complaints and cries.
How ungrateful many nations be, wanting to control our freedoms and chosen, individual destinies.
The genuine individual is insulted, scoffed at, or not recognized at all.
Just the sheep, who follow lead shepherds, get acknowledgement
at all.

Storm Surge

Trees laid vertical on their sides uprooted
Jetties once planted in their depths departed
Tides moved rocks from their sockets sound
Some flew away as if insulted by the storm
Over vast tracks of time long forgotten
Beaches held on to land with all their sand
For almost seconds if you count tomorrow
Waves as high as mountains came
Upon the morning all had disappeared
There were no more city streets
By flood o’clock all had stopped
By 6:00 am all was gone
Crowds, houses, children in their sleep
No wonder why the mail was late
All moved on in that split second
In that instance called Hurricane Eight

Our ancestors came to our shores.
To be free and make more of themselves..
For a free paycheck, was not it!
But to share talents and raise families.
more than fit!

Look at the border, you will pay for all,
Sneaking into a country, their loss is.
Wearing BIDEN T-Shirts. Smiling?
Let ‘Saint Hunter’or Congress foot the
bill!
As inflation and taxes go thru the roof.
While you pay, yes you, will be charged
for that bill!

On top of this, we are insulted for all we do.
I mean we who WORK and pay our own way.
We must hush now and let looters have
their violent say?
Barely can we walk our streets.
Criminals kill police, it's their bloody treat.

Mask-O-Rama and Fear-O-Rama is now the daily weather.
It is time for me, to be fearless in mentioning this.
Hiding behind a Thesaurus, brings this poet.... and
not an minute of bliss.

I speak for unborn poems, not yet writ!!
Those that call out your courage, great...and in that
creative mind of yours sit?
Yes, and I love poetry charming and full of sparkling wit!

Bird-brain

Bird Brain

Jealous of the birds—
the way they spread their wings
and fly.
They're free.

I wonder,
if a bird could look at us,
what would it think?

Funny how we're insulted
with “bird brain”
for the very mention of thought.

Writer's block
at 9:33 p.m.
on the clock—
being that the time I'm in,
we should talk
while we have the chance.

Let me off this
tax-and-roller-coaster
within this mind.
Make it stop.

Take these thoughts
growing legs
and let them run.

Drop the rock.
Breathe the air.
Get some sun.

You're in shock.
Don't fall off.

Live.

Lost train of thought—
too many cars.
