Mother Earth
We all share this green planet we call earth
We all have been here since our date of birth
We all are guests on this planet we call home
We all are given this gift we neglect to atone
She gives us the air we breathe to sustain all of life’s continuance
She gives us the sky above, shelter from abysmal space imminence
She gives us variances in all of her terrains, many places and wonders
She gives us stability beneath our feet to grow, explore and wander
We rape all of her resources and consume them at will
We have been doing this for years, and continue this still
We pollute all her air, her lakes, her rivers and her streams
We live at the precipice of disaster, yet do nothing it seems
I am in awe of her beauty, her resilience, her strength
I am aware of all the damage that we all inflict at length
I am consumed with the fear, all we love and cherish may come to an end
I am confused that we, her guests on this planet, are not a better friend
Ask yourself this question, what can I, just one person do to help, to save
Ask yourself, have I been one of many that have consumed the all she gave
Ask yourself, have I been a true friend to her lands, a true human being
Ask yourself, do I take personal responsibility for all I have been seeing
Mother Earth, my deepest apologies
When I awoke, a woman I'd become
The spirit of many, contained in one
Strength and beauty, mystical tears
Magical entity, who hated mirrors
Looking at reflection, I seen my flaws
Yet in the background, I heard much applause
Others seen me, with much different eyes
I listened to their voices, discarded my lies
The blood of creation, flowed in my veins
A brave warrior, a vision with brains
Nurture and strength, complicated friend
Passion personified, a master of pretend
Layers of lovely, deeper than a well
If you love me, I have a secret to tell
Loyal and fierce, sometimes hiding my face
Push me to far, I'll be gone without a trace
My day had ended, time to go to bed
Still words unspoken need to be said
Yet in the end I turn back into a man
Enriched by women, I am who I am
In honour of women on their special day
By: Richard Lamoureux
In honour of praise I kiss the sky,
When I am speechless my words lie tied,
In honour of kindness for what it's worth,
It's a valued commodity which love gives birth.
In honour of music, I can hear the bells,
It's truly magical as it casts its spells,
In honour of art and how it speaks to your soul,
There's no greater filling to make one feel whole.
In honour of friendship and the joy it provides,
Great friendships last and will never subside,
In honour of poetry and to poets themselves,
May you each have a book that lives on our shelves.
In honour of this life, we are all blessed

I thought of her smile, her love, her life,
many lovely moments in the past,
a great mother and devoted wife,
when she breathed her last.
many a purpose her life avail,
many a role and many a cast,
her feats in life had carved a long trail,
when she breathed her last.
Never a moment to stop or rest,
Never her life zeal would fly half mast,
she gave family her very best,
till she breathed her last.
what praise or glory can one bestow,
on a mother’s kingdom timeless vast,
we bow in her honour as tears flow,
she has breathed her last!

(Poem in honour of the ancient Christian named "Alexamenos" who was mocked with Christ and named in the "Alexamenos graffito" in Rome)
A man who looked up high towards the blood-soaked cross of earthly strife
Lovingly devout to Christ, Christ who became the tree of knowledge and life
Even though he was mocked as a donkey, you saw his white raiment
Xtian who bowed to the lamb who rode on a donkey in a king’s garment
A man who lives with the living, who has died to the dead here present
May blessings be upon you who was reviled and in much torment
Even the lamb was hated, though without him no one could see the divinity
Now your name and devotion are set in stone for eternity
Overturning the mockery crafted to be a thorn crown of blight
Strong in the shouts of mockery, you took up your own cross of plight
Majestic and grand, a wonderous mythical creature,
The central horn on their head is the prominent feature.
I’m afraid I don’t know much more about the unicorn,
But not sending you a birthday wish, I become forlorn.
So it seems I don’t have the knowledge to do this write,
And so I thought about this problem with all my might,
Did some research and found you something really neat,
It’s made in County Meath Ireland, canned unicorn meat.
Really pleased with myself to achieve such a perfect find,
Then I read, you can’t eat the meat ~ just blows my mind.
Seems the contents are torn apart stuffed unicorn parts,
Imagine someone thinking up this item, they had the smarts.
Well Poet ~ Destroyer, wish you the very best birthday,
Sorry my poem on unicorns didn’t have more to say.
View the ad on www.thinkgeek.com its really sweet,
And I hope the joys of your Birthday are truly complete.

“Spoil me- with Unicorn poems”
Late but received her first cheque for alimony
Shot off to this new market based on a raving testimony
She circled and circled… was the ad phony?
No signs… no arrows… was it hidden this Chez Tony?
Suddenly a little hole in the wall behind some random pony!
Groceries for one, a dose of reality, the fish was bony
The smell reminiscent of rancid sanctimony
She settled for cheese and macaroni
a pound of baloney
in honour of their matrimony
and a devil cake for the irony

Oh! London what future awaits you?
Oh! London what is in the coffers for you?
Oh! London do you still weep?
Oh! London I hope you'll still be priceless.
She held your reins firmly,
She chauffeured you with undying zeal,
She polished your armour with dexterity,
She raised your walls with unabated strength.
Your doors you opened to many,
Others you brought into your train,
You stood by them like a mother hen,
Your hands guided them to safe grounds.
Your streets saw no one homeless,
Your gates didn’t bar the indigent,
You embraced the lost ones,
They built their homes with your bricks.
You walked with astonishing elegance,
Your beauty rekindled waning hope,
Your ethics bewildered many,
You stood tall among your compatriots.
You battled your assailants,
You weathered many storms,
You pushed through turbulent seas,
You strengthened your feeble knees.
Oh! The city that doesn’t go to sleep,
Let many still find solace in you,
Oh! The city that is cloaked with beauty,
Let your allure stand like the summer sun.
Who comes to ride your horse?
Who comes to pull apart your curtains?
The departed still smiles,
The Book of Chronicles still honours the departed.
Let’s stand in honour of our Queen mother,
Let’s salute her bravery,
London has you etched in her memory,
London has your name scripted in her parchments.
October 22, 2022.
Did not the promise of my life unto you pledge eternity
Within the scriptures of the pages of our love
Inscribed upon the parchment of this union
As we created the intimate, the divine, and the sensual
Did I not hold you in the palm of my hand
Raise my hand to my mouth
Swallow you whole
Did I not devour this love
This intimacy, this divine sensuality
Then my love
As pure as the connection of our spirit's wine
Did I not drink from the chalice of your soul
Lick my lips to savour it's elixir
It's life force
Did not the very banquet of your body
Become the food of my heart
Then my Love
As the end of days on earth stepped forward
As the breath exchanged between us
Every inhaled and exhaled breath of love
Did we not become reborn in Eden
Then my Love
Then
Did not the permanency of this bond ensure
Our love will last forever
As I take your hand
Raise it to my lips
My head bowed in honour of this love
Then my love
And Only then
Tell me you understood
“My chains fell off, my heart was free
I rose, went forth, and followed thee"
-Charles Wesley (Amazing grace)
Divine light beckons towards thee,
though darkness blinds, wind howls a cry,
I hear no voice but you call me,
Christ, pray be my strength, be my guide!
Tredge my way anew to be free,
earth trembles wrecked by woeful sins,
walk towards thee but cannot see,
Christ, pray be my strength, be my guide!
Glow of truth lights my heart with glee,
roses in bloom where desert be,
if It be thy will thy decree!
Christ, pray be my strength, be my guide!
