Premium Member Heavenly Cake

We wanted to make a heavenly cake
But needed angelic ingredients
That were as far out of reach as can be
So we thought of other expedients

Like the famed store of unusual foods
Though it wasn’t around the corner
But then a melancholy light hit me
That we should seek a recent mourner

Who is akin to a newly deceased
Thus privy to a loved one in heaven
So I gently approached my grandfather
Hoping to make a mindful impression

I asked if he thought he could contact
The soul of my loving grandmother
To impart a glimpse of what they cook there
But he said that I should ask another

Making a heavenly cake like we planned
Was more trying than it first appeared
We needed to find some other way
Some way that may be more or less weird

I bravely entered a graveyard one night
With a shuddery moon full and blue
Hoping a spirit would come to my aid
With some heavenly food to pick through

But the creaking only got creepier
As each hour of that night crept by
And though frightened I got sleepier
With no ingredients to descry

Next day I dove deep in the library
About divine dishes present and passed
But couldn’t find one book apropos
So I went to the front desk and asked

The curator ventured to the attic
Where she recalled a very rare book
Aptly titled Eatin’ in Eden
With recipes for a heavenly cook

And on page one hundred fifty two
A recipe for heavenly cake
That purported the impossible
A trip to heaven to undertake

Yet most ways seemed too obnoxious
Even simply holding one’s breath
Which no matter how long it’s tried for
Is never enough for courting death

And if one died and went to heaven
How could they ever make the return
Back to earth to bake a divine cake
There was still much to this cake to learn

We flipped through every page of that book
To decipher somehow or some way
When we wondrously divined that the why
Was not where, but was plain as the day

The cake base is like a rich chocolate
Vastly deep as a moonless night sky
And while fudgy is light and airy
Certainly heavenly certified

Plus shrouded with fluffy cloud frosting
Of downy whiteness from pleasant dreams
That is also sweet as the sunshine
And piped with fresh rainbow hued creams

The cosmos cooks up celestial things
From the blue sky to heavenly cake
So after all that worry and work
It was in essence a breeze to make

Killing Machines

Only eighteen and conscripted to the military,
no choice of mine it was the norm at this time and scary,
barely out of school and still wet behind the ear,
too young to watch an adult movie or have a beer.

Disadvantaged to study and too white to be left behind,
this I never understood till today, rightfully grew up blind,
this pain will never leave me as I walk through life,
explaining, I can’t understand myself, the past strife.

Ready to be trained to kill another nation’s child,
leaving their family with the loss and our side smiled,
dejected as I waved goodbye to my family that day,
my girlfriend was there too and my friends to stay.

To a military camp for 2 years, programed and trained,
based in Kimberley 900 Km to be mentally stained,
infantry intelligence was my involuntary military calling,
not knowing what was in store for our adult life’s stalling.

On my new bed listening to songs of memory and waiting,
corporals, sergeants screaming at youths scared, hating,
nobody knowing what or who, or how, where to show,
disconnected from family and treated like **** dough.

Moulding us into military men without feelings,
chased and forced without asking or dealings,
involuntary wearing uniforms, carrying death,
brainwashed, to march in unison, out of breath.

Bushwhacking, crawling under barbed mesh,
ripping our faces, shredding our young flesh,
many a youth destroyed mentally for gore,
but guaranteed that we were ready for war.

Your rifle is your wife; the military is your mother,
drilled into our minds and began a smother,
fired our weapons at fabricated enemy,
re-loading and then screaming with venom.

Indoctrination and mental instability forced,
not ourselves but killing machines endorsed,
spread across African borders to kill on sight,
innocent, women and child death is our right.

Many a friend made and many a friend lost,
this is for our nation, family and worth the cost,
under the impression of protecting our nation,
living off measly dehydrated and shared ration.

We the soldiers of our South African un-united nation,
proud and ready to destroy, our new minds creation,
all others were the enemy and terrorists,
to them we were the same to kill and create hero lists,

Friends and Time with family are lost forever,
memories of the past in our conscience lost never.

Another Clerihew For a Special Few, Not That All the Others Aren'T Special

Wayland here again with another clerihew to end the year
These will probably never be famous, but that isn’t the fear
Sometimes the honesty is these may be just a little too strong
They're all done in fun, but some lines seem to go wrong

The philosopher lays the blame in the characters included
Only to what’s written here on the soup has he alluded
No outer sources does he ever interview
I say sorry to those victimized by my clerihew

Mr. Bunch, I don't remember calling myself that
Hasn’t been the one known to avoid a spat
Of what he feels and sees he likes to write
These truly are in fun, with little or no spite

Jack E I haven’t looked yet to see his new work
He has so much wit he could be a funny jerk
But he writes and really abstains from anger
If he got mad though, I’d bet there’d be intellectual danger

Good thing he’s Santa with no time to read these
If you see him, probably don’t mention them please
I don’t want to encourage him with another form
The quatrain that is what has become his norm

Advancing in age but he’s still feisty old Saint Nick
If you don’t believe me you’ll have to read his limerick
I said limerick but he’s naughty in more than one
If you want a particular Santa’s Beard is filled with pun

FJ Thomas seems to enjoy being clerihewed
Her comments leave me believing she’s no prude
An example would leave some saying I’ve a dirty mind
I’d have to say did you really read or are you blind

I’m glad Mrs. Thomas decided not to leave
She felt the affection from the comments she did receive
I try to leave affectionate comments for my part
But I know often times my a** is a little to smart

How many of these about PD could I write
If I started now I’d be here till tomorrow night
She definitely is engrained everywhere just read
I still hold that of a new nemesis she has some need

Then she could destroy her imagery is uncanny
I bet under the bullying category she has many
So sweet and innocent my first impression of her
Then I went back and found why she’s called destroyer

Yes Linda couldn’t have picked a better name
The poor souls that were the victims of her fame
I remember a specific one haven’t seen him around
If she’s looking for a new victim, tell her I can’t be found

Once again note that these are all in fun, and only 99% of this should you believe, lol. I had about 5 more but ran out of space and courage haha.

Making It Great In2008 By Watching What Wise Men Do (Part 25)

we're all natural born watchers just looking around
at the TV, the Internet and newspapers all over town
be it something or somebody we usually just watch and wait
to look up to anything that may reinforce our faith
be it something constructive or counterproductive
to watch what others do and then try to imitate
to look at success and then try to emulate

the Wise Men, the Magi were 3 men you should look upon
for they knew to follow that star which was on the horizon
yet King Herod who was the ruler of that little town
could not spiritually ascertain what was really going down
he had heard that the nation of Israel would have a new born king
and then he became paranoid and anxious over everything
he was under the impression that God would have told him first
of the Saving Son who was about to appear on earth

God did a new thing in a completely new way
but many missed the true meaning of the birth that day
but the Magi those 3 Wise Men were in step with God
they were spiritually aware of what was about to start
it's not about man's logic, rationale nor reason
for God is the omnipotent One for all seasons
don't let anyone try to diminish the awesomeness of God's might
don't let anyone try to dim the brilliance that is His guiding light
making it great in 2008 by watching what wise men do
making it great in 2008 by believing that God is watching over you

to be struck by the mystery that is God's power
to believe that He is with you at any given hour
to follow that star whenever you hear the angels sings
to trust that God will guide you in everything
there's no need to fear the unknown or what's down the road
just watch what wise men do when they give God total control
by following a star which led them to a child born in a manger
and not to reveal what they found for to tell would have brought danger
and after presenting the gifts and thus fulfilling the prophecy
they left Bethlehem by another way and continued their journey

when God gives a revelation and then tells you to get up and leave
let no one stop nor hinder you from doing what you believe
don't ever put reason before revelation as reason will only go so far
for revelation is the exclamation that will reveal to you a star
so making it great in 2008 by watching what wise men do
and by following that star wherever it leads you to

Lasting Impressions

His hands are small a lot like mine this I can recall, only to see no mirror upon this wall. Just look at my eyes they are not one of another, they are the eyes you left me with just like my mother. On egg shells we walked never knowing when it was ok to talk, we might say or do the wrong thing only knowing better to dodge your swing. You always said blood was thicker than water, so why did you teach us love was about hurting each other? We were your puppets and you was our master only bound to end in a tangle of disaster. You said you held the world in your hands, I wish I knew where it was that I stand.
Remember the time you said "I raised you the best I could?" Was you thinking the same thing when you were slamming my face into the car hood? Or how about the time you beat me so bad I peed my pants right where I stood? You took something from me that took 35yrs to get back don't worry dad I had to makeup for all that you lacked, while you were out busy dealing and abusing your crack! So many nights the aroma of whiskey lingered from your breath, only to awake in the morning seeing you passed out on the kitchen floor only to be half dressed. Don't you realize how that scared us to death! We were your children for gods sake, but you didn't care because you are nothing but a disgusting snake! All we ever wanted was a loving father someone we felt safe with like we did our mother. We couldn't stay in our house so we had to disguise ourselves and seek help from the shelters. So many emotions you put us through anger, fear, hate and isolation. Heck we wasn't even allowed to play, only time we did is when you were away. As I got older you would say "please stay one more shot and ill put it away". One turned into three knowing deep within me I just wanted to flee I just knew what it was going to be. Me on my knee begging to plea. Then you would say " Your nothing to me just get out and let me be!" I turned and looked at him and said "you know one day your gonna miss me!" He just replied,"I now have the one that I adore she's all I'll need forever more." Only if she knew what was bound to be as she became wife number three and by the way her name is Cherie. Year after year you put us last, don't worry dad because now YOUR just an impression of MY past. Now the tables have turned please tell me how does it feel to be the one put LAST!?

A Blessing In the Heat (Part 2)

Johnny Clare is an example of many a young man who Cowboy'd in the truest sense of the word. He did a job. He did it well. Though he met an untimely end, his life did not go unnoticed. Continental Oil Company put up a monument to a young man who worked for them, but Larry McWhorter's words made him real. The essence of who he was is immortalized in that poem. It is more than a poem about one Cowboy...it is a poem about every Cowboy who ever rode for the Brand. It is a poem about the heart and soul of men who built our country through hard work and sacrifice. It is a poem about one man's basic belief that time may march on, but those everyday Cowboys like Johnny Clare will not be forgotten. The monument stands as a reminder of "where," but Larry McWhorter's words stand as a reminder of "why." His words, a tribute to the spirit of man and a lesson on how to live what you love.

I cried that day. Tears of joy for having shared this moment with Larry and Andrea; for having one of my heroes of Cowboy Poetry recognize me and for his gift of words to me. We have been friends since. I love and respect him and Andrea; because they are good, kind, strong people of the land with deep conviction in their faith and strong relationship with the Savior. They live each day with grace, they give that grace to others and they make all strangers friends. Proud am I that I know them. Lucky am I that I got to go to Weatherford, Texas that day.

I have learned that it's not the trail we ride, but the tracks we leave behind for others to follow that matters. Time may march on, but word and deed live on forever; as does the spirit of any person dedicated to living life to the fullest while serving their fellow man. The impression we leave is our memorial to this earthly life. Building a monument with words and telling the stories about others so they are never forgotten is our memorial
to those we love and admire. Johnny Clare, Larry McWhorter, all those men I grew up with and those I am privileged to call my friends; all living life their way by the Grace of God, all fighting the good fight and marching forward no matter the obstacles, all inspiring us to live life to its fullest. When it comes to great men of heart and spirit the memory never fades and the words of praise are endless. And that, my friends, is the greatest monument of all.

She's the Type of Girl

She’s the type of girl who will make you hold your breath ‘till your head explodes

She’s the type of girl who will never pick up on her cellular telephone

I saw her Wednesday watched her walk by
I call her Thursday to no reply
Then I tried on Friday would you be mine
I got no response I’m done wasting time

This chick thinks I’m stupid she must be crazy
Every part of her body is amazing
My jaw gets weak and my mouth goes lazy
I’m done trying to reach her is this hasty

Then On Monday to my surprise
She called me back and she replied
You think you’re so smart so realize
To be my man there’s compromise

So let’s get together and if you make the right impression
I will show you what love is and teach you a new dimension
So grab your note book make room for a life lesson
I’m a tender lover who needs all of your affection

She’s the type of girl who will make you hold your breath ‘till your head explodes

She’s the type of girl who will never pick up on her cellular telephone

Listen to me because I’m willing to be
The best thing you’ve ever received
So try to conceive try to believe
Every thing I say is every thing I mean

You think you’re so bad you think that you’re queen
When all you do is sit there your attitude screams
You need attention that’s why you called me
I’m not that foolish these eyes they truly see

I think you’re obnoxious oh so irritating
Your soul is toxic as well as degrading
So talk your garbage your looks they are fading
To hold my heart hostage is complicated

Like you said lets get together I hope you bring a personality
Welcome to my reality all in all you are a fallacy
A true walking beauty a beast undoubtedly
Not just a plastic princess lacking individuality

She’s the type of girl who will make you hold your breath ‘till your head explodes

She’s the type of girl who will never pick up on her cellular telephone

I don’t need this I hope that you know I mean it
I would get between it but I would never eat it
You are misleading your outward features fleeting
That is why I am fleeing because you are being
A bitter little chick that gets every thing she’s needing
Unfortunately I’m conceding this conversations bleeding
Me dry that’s why this here guy is saying goodbye

So, so long I wish you all the best long life and all the rest.

****!!!…(expletive)

I’m just playing lets do this again some time.

The Impossible - Ch, 2 - the Cold Chambers of My Mind

The cold chambers of my mind
Lacks happiness and a sense of belonging – I’m feeling soar
Under the snow is where you’ll find me
For, I’m snowed under by your heartless remarks, giving me the impression that you
used to envy me possibly
Under the water is where you’ll see my body
You can’t save me from drowning, so don’t make me change my mind…I’ll do the
impossible and I’ll do the opposite of what you tell me to do – let me go…help me,
somebody!
I loved you, girl…you were my darling angel
My dreams are broken because you abandoned me…carelessly…tactlessly…we used to
lack hands like two grand lands in agreement with each other – we’re those lovers
embracing each other lovingly and without a care
I’m all alone…I’m all alone…without a care…
I’m on my own…I’m on my own…everyone starts to stare
Can you look the other way someday?
Am I that attractive to you all? I’m sorry – I don’t roll that way!
You lead me to another lane…you knew where you were driving
You knew the course from the start; now, we hit a dead end, still surviving…arriving
undone
You ran me over heartlessly
You knew that I’d meet my fatality
You injured me inside and out
You hurt me badly without a doubt
Condescendingly, you burned away one of my favorite times of my life
I did the same thing to you, except I gave you space to regret everything you have done
to me – making me victim to your sinister strife
No apologies accepted…all will be rejected
In the long run, you’ll feel infected…
You are gonna be that orphan, all alone without blankets to wrap yourself around in –
having no time to commit even one childlike crime
You marinate and engorge in your abominable sin…spiraling from deep within you – where
have you been? You were my faithful kin once upon a time
Let me whisper in your ears
About how many times you’ve neglected me – for many years
You didn’t even noticed I have wept a thousand tears or more…you never reflected upon
me like mirrors
Don’t freeze my heart with your malicious, merciless words – its sole purpose is to harm
than do any good
How did you view love? Like a game?
Didn’t you feel this shame without a shameless name?
Don’t strike me with your perilous love…stop making me feel pity!
Don’t play rough! Play fair and please don’t neglect me…
Please don't neglect me once more . . .

One leaves of hurt, other because they are hurt

Today nothing's is gonna rhyme in the poem, cause i wanna try to Show em.

Yes, I did love you and I did care about you, everything you made inspired me and was bringing me joy while both of us were completley leading us in the unknown.
When everything we knew was: We care for another, you thought that I keep writing interesting skills and just offer kindness to everyone and Me thinking: I want to give you my all.

Even if love was measured differently in the deep inner of both of us for another I do believe, when we knew too less, we would've done the same, just not in the same amount.

When we knew too much, both of left in uncomfort every eyecontact felt now like a stab then admiration, every smile felt forced then enjoying company, when conversations were boiling up before but know it has soaked in, every glance was a serious look then a desire to pay attention, language was no more going fluent filled with cammederine, but just brief answeres annoyed and rude, Company is now no option but avoidance and ignorance.

The one because it hurts them, the other because they are their hurt.

My Annoyance and ignorance and being brief and rude indeed gave you the impression that i was already living past it now, which got me let you see your hands going down her waist you never letted going, the doors you open her you never opened, the engagement you give you never gave, the openess you are free to encounter you never encountered, the comfort you feel you never felt, the freedom you live you never lived.

While I stand there and observe.
And even in every seconds, minute, hours my eyes have looked away, every month and year my feeling will leave me gut.

Thoughts like: ,,Won't be "just friends" the answer", were crossed out of my mind because every uncomfort you felt i never wanted to let you feel, and every unenjoyment you experienced i never wanted you go experience, and every thoughtfulness you were while interacting with me i never wanted you to interact that why, now, every comfort you feel (because of me) I never wanted you to have felt, and every unenjoyment you experienced (because of me) i never wanted you to have experienced, and every thoughtfullness you are while interacting *because of me*, i never wanted you to interact you that way.

Let's go ahead to be strangers one day.

Premium Member 1140 Royal Street

The first time I met Madame La Laurie, was in 1832 When she and her third husband (Dr. Louis La Laurie) purchased me. My first impression of Madame La Laurie was that she was soft spoken, of fine breeding, and very beautiful.

Upon her arrival, she wasted no time filling every nook and cranny at 1140 Royal Street with the finest furniture and china that money could buy. No one looking at the plain exterior of this house, would ever expect such opulence within it walls.

She wore the latest fashions from Paris with a flare beyond rival, even by the most inducted social lights of the hour, which did not go unnoticed. Both men and women, would stop in their tracks to gaze upon this regal beauty as she strolled down the main streets of New Orleans.

Soon, with the aide of her husbands connections through his practise, she, gained acceptance into the higher circles of the community and began hosting what would become, the most sought after dinner invitations in all of New Orleans.

This was the one side of Madame La Laurie that the world saw, but it was I, who bore witness to the other side. NEVER could anyone have ever imagined the atrocities this women committed in her chamber of horrors on the 3rd floor as she maimed, tortured and murdered any slave that displeased her.

                                           ~~~
I was burned badly, when one slave, wanting to end his misery, set a fire in the kitchen, finally bringing her reign of terror to and end, where upon she  fled in her hell driven carriage, into the night, never to be seen again.
Today, I stand here at 1140 Royal street, completely unrecognizable. I have a different face now. The only thing left one would recognize from that day, would be the old path that runs between me and the adjacent house.
Lush green foliage now grows along its edge, in what I like to think, a remembrance to the tortured souls who died here.
Between these brick walls
Bright light filters from above
Old seeds bloom again
BUT...IF YOU DARE to walk between these walls, you...like me, THAT OLD HOUSE IN NEW ORLEANS, might see the apparitions of the tortured souls still residing there.
                                                ~~~
