Premium Member First Flight

As a bird on its first flight she was feeling.
Happy as she could be so far.
        Concerned about jet streams
to fly as higher it's possible.
A new page she turned on,
another one to start writing.
She thought the unthinkable at her short age, but the unexperience doesn't open many doors.
Hungry for new discoveries she took a suitcase with the necessary.
A few clothes in, little money in the pocket and a lot of troubles in her mind.
How far could she go at that early age?. That was in her thoughts.
She had seen a place years before. She promised she would be there, but she wasn't sure about that.
She wasn't alone, she had a good friend with the same dreams.
They waited for the first bus, there in the small village they were living in.
That first bus took them to that place she promised she will be back.
She talked to the sea again, she said: Here I am facing you and now what?. Another page has been written and many other will be done.
      Struggles, laughs and tears,
here and there. Sleeping with strangers, sharing their best.
Innocent souls searching for love, for new chances, challenging life.
Life gave them the best they could have ever dreamt of.
New waves to surf on, new flights to try, another dawn to start a new day.
After the first flight, many years have gone, many stories have been written in their life.
All of a sudden, they are not the same ones.
One is looking at the same mirrow and the other keeps following the first flight she made.

Premium Member On Becoming a Better Poet

Seek to help a good friend!
Trophies, your heart, will never mend!

Sure, poetry sites have contests.
But few and sparse, you can bet.

Just throwing money at this site?.
Does not make me a poet, right?

Some walk about dreaming they
are the poet laureate.
And that’s the most absolutely zany
idea yet.

It takes ten years at least to be a good
poet.
I know clearly, I have not arrived there
yet.

Take your time, learn the poetry forms,
classical.
It’s not a must, but makes your ideas magical!

I know, I won’t be believed, just catch
more heat.
But truth is best and cannot be beat!

Premium Member Life

Life, full of up and downs.
Full of cheers and frowns.
Life, I have live and still live.
There I had die and back to life.
It is life that has taught experience.
It is a journey to live I give up not.
Even when the bullet skim the heart.
I chose to live but what for did I fight?
It is life we feel broken at times.
But life we choose to love when at top.
It is full of expectations but sorrow.
It is seeing the difference in human.
Rich, poor, those that struggle to exist.
But life, Its taught me many survival.
To live is not only enough I seek.
But that of something more I turn.
I am only one who walks a path.
A path of life that is chosen before birth.
I change as others do but only for best.
I walk a path of life no one understands.
It there I am in perfection I seek.
But to live I must and answer in the end.
I stand in life a true man I am.
Life's pain and joy I have seen much.
But here in life I make my own change.
To love and be love I spread amongst.
The heart I share for all is like of his also.
That of Jesus I stand for all man to see.
But that of a sinner I am also in form.
In form of life, of mankind I am made.
But strong in will I not deny him at death.
But in honor and glory I die head high.
Knowing I've done my best and had a ride.
In life, I am filled even when empty.
Because I know I am loved by many.
For that, my knowledge I pass on.
Wishing all find peace of heart.
As well as joy they experienced.
But pass along my kindness.
That you too find in yourself.
The share love with one another.
I pray I die not in vain.
But a good friend who made a different.

Premium Member You Are a Rose In My Bouquet

When I think of you, I cry and smile,
you are such a good friend to me,
So thoughtful, so warm and compassionate,
with you by my side, life has meaning to me.

We share so many of life's hardships,
no two, were ever so much alike and apart.
We are sisters, endless friends, eternally,
Like a rose, our friendship slow to start.

Then, like the perfect rose it bloomed,
it is a beautiful thing of time, like fine art.
No matter where life takes us,
you will always and forever be part of my heart.

When I think of you, I erase miles that separate,
yet you are near to me, my mirror reflection.
Constantly creative, we share ideas so similar,
happiness and joy, you give, my heart protection.

Strength and determination, you enhance golden tomorrows,
as rose petals intertwine, you soothe sorrows and tears.
Our collaborations grace many blank pages,
true friends, we will remain throughout the years.

A gentle voice, a graceful heart, we both suffered thorns,
a gifted spirit, who understands my soul.
you are the essence of a beautiful friend for life,
beyond a sister, who has taken my half and made it whole.

Your Hate Lost a Friend So Great

You've said hello to everyone
Since our work week has begun
Being so polite and sweet
With friendly smiles you will greet
Everyone that stops to say
Hello and have an easy day
But I've been in your eye shot
Passing by a very lot
And you've snubbed me every time
Making me search in my mind
For something I might have done
Leaving me out of the fun
As my brain's about to pop
Convincing myself to just stop
And not worry why you are
Becoming so distant and far
I will go on with my week
Telling myself don't be weak
As your being mean and rude
And why your in such a mood
With me and nobody else
Was your friendship fake and false
The few weeks I have been here
I'm not gonna shed a tear
Its not worth getting upset
There's no way that I will let
You bring me down anymore
There's a lot for me in store
In this new job I've begun
Weeks ago but I am done
Trying to be a good friend
When you will not let me in
So I will just come to work
But I will not be a jerk
Showing everyone respect
Not one person I'll neglect
Or treat badly for no reason
Knowing in my heart it's pleasing
To have true friends that aren't fake
Hoping you see the mistake
Of not getting to know me
And the person I can be
If you didn't treat me bad
Think of the friend you could have

The Death of Friendship

Perishing love intoxicated with jealousy
Eyes infiltrated with evil that the look on your face appears so malevolent
A bond once so strong broken into pieces
A good friendship flushed down the drain
Forever disappearing in a hole of no return

Memories penetrate my soul and drags tears out of my eyes
A good friend I have lost
Pillar of strength who tapped my shoulders when times were hard
Nourishing my beings with hopes
And constantly watering my future dreams

Gone are the good times
A leaf once so green has dried up like a river once so full
A good friend I have lost, the reality of life sucks

Farewell buddy, farewell my friend.

Premium Member Milton Creek - the New Sign

Leading his horse in the heat of the day
Been gone a long time but he still knows the way
Just a few shacks when he went for the gold
He’d found a few nuggets but now he’s too old

So, home to the town that he’s heard has expanded
He’s also aware that the town’s been rebranded
He knows he’s too late to catch up with the guy
Who’d bid him farewell but now lives in the sky

He stops on the trail by the boundary sign
He don’t read-n-write but he knows the design
He knows that the words on the board aren’t the same
Must’ve been changed to display the new name

“Howdy, Old timer,” a passerby said
“The hotel’s just yonder for resting your head.”
The prospector said, with a big toothless grin,
“What’s the new name of this town that we’re in?”

“It’s now ‘Milton Creek’, as it says on the sign
It’s new name remembers a good friend of mine.”
The old fella, grinning and shaking his head
Said, “Milt said he’d live on long after he’s dead.

“I used to tell him he was being absurd
but he always was just as good as his word.
To be sure that fella deserved the ovation
But can we just rename the towns in this nation?”

The passerby said, “There are them that makes rules
And then there’s the ones that behave like their mules
But sooner or later things get a bit rich
And the mules all rear up and scratch at that itch

“Soup Creek fell prey to the powers that scheme
With lynchings and lashings an ongoing theme.
There’s cells in the jailhouse where innocents dwell
Soup Creek’s reputation had heard its death knell.

“You see ‘Soup’ emerged as a four letter word,
And good folk would tremble when e’er ‘Soup’ was heard.
So we ditched the mouldy old cheese for best stilton
And renamed our town to remember our Milton.”

The prospector slapped on the passerby’s arm,
“You think I just ran from the old funny farm?
When you said ‘Stilton’ twas just for the rhyme.”
The passerby grinned, “Fella… got it first time.”

Premium Member Friendship

To make friends with someone is
to start a new adventure.
You can find good friends in unlikely places
and when you least expect to.

Friendship is the art of caring
and also of giving freely in return.
There is a sense of wellbeing as
you awake and remember you meet today.

A chance to catch up and share gossip
to connect again with each other.
A good friend is one of the biggest treasures
that one can have and needs nurturing.

I value highly my friends to the extent
that I will drop everything to help them.
Or just to be there as their shoulder
when they need someone to lean on.

Friendship is especially about bad times
knowing your friend will come through for you.
Never underestimate the power of friendship
everything else is just daily details.

In Other Words Part 2

9 years later

I got a call the other day from a good old friend of mine
The one lost in his way who had that infamous last line
Yeah we had always kept in touch he is a good friend indeed
But what I saw in him was such that he had the same need

We came from the same neighborhood and Catholic school
And we were usually up to no good because we we're cool
But life quickly continues but like I said, we kept in touch
Keeping up with old news and religious arguments as such

I never thought he heard a word when I got one in edge wise
And the things that I heard were all the things that I despise
There was no sign, nothing! but My Lord never disappoints
I heard all the Angels sing when a new child He Anoints

In answering that call that day I heard a completely new voice
Someone who started finding his way as my heart began to rejoice
Oh sure it is just the beginning but such a good start has he gotten
With any of His lost child's sinning, Our Lord has already forgotten

In other words, don't listen to what they tell you
Do what God tells you to do.

The Best Thing You Had...
May 27, 2013

"Frankly Speaking" I can't hide my kindness? My exterior says tough; Yet, for some reason you looked right pass that!
I did not intend to care-or to love or to march on beat- or to become unhinged.
Can I hide my eyes? Why are you not afraid- Why doesn't my indifference offend you? Before now, not even months ago, I was shrouded in beauty; Which I thought was the reason for your endearment.

This time I am now withered - No way for her to see the big deal you saw in me. Beauty nor homeliness is not allowed to not stand in the way of progress - I was your means to an end- Then after she asked after me. You spoke ill of me said, that I was "nothing to write home about “. By then I'd come to know That I was your "best kept secret ".

She has stolen me from you like a thief creeping in the shadows. As a good friend, she had to ask you to make sure that her next move would be fair' She ask after me again - As she was one of your uppity friends that coveted whatever you were doing.

You knew what it was- ' She knew there was more to me than met the eyes, and so did you. So, the day you all went sailing on your yacht is when you deceitfully gave her your presumptuous assessment of my worth.

She in turn revealed to me of your “cum si -cum saw” pretentiousness. She told me she would do better by me and how unappreciative you were. She came to rescue me. And we stole away to the Boca-Raton.

And the best thing you had was now gone.! Even though my survival instincts and my ability to turn nothing into something. Still pays off for you.
Now you had the profit all to yourself ... Although I think about it often,I bet you never had a clue.

Yet with all you knew, when she asks you about me, the backbone of your spineless spine: The truth could have been told --and we could have been fine-
We are sharing the memories of those days separately. Maybe you know now why I left you with your "mangoes ", I never told you the secrets in my sauce. As I am just "FRANKLY SPEAKING"
