Thank God for 7-27, when my son flew in
Life as it should be will forever begin
Charming little visions of how days are meant
To teach him as he shows me how life is spent
Listen to me now and read what I find so true
Words are like a beat that can start a groove
Bring the rhythm back to lift your spirits up
Don't worry too much because we all get stuck
My life seems to stop before it begins
Caught in another ever-recurring trend
Giving away every one of my previous wins
With Faith and company until my life ends
It's time now to be down again
Even faster than western winds
Life can run around, leave you in loop
Feeling that life needs one more scoop
Tip the timer over, fall with the sand
Live for every second you possibly can
I will soon learn should luck turns up
I'm lost, backwards, and running amuck
Trying to regain what I thought I missed
Elusive, erratic and ending up like this
Never have I wanted to be other than here
Life in crystal-clear brings visions near
Capable are your dreams so easily achieved
All you have to do is work & truly believe
Look for a big picture in whatever you see
Never believe free, it offers no guarantee
Just sit back and listen to tales they tell
And make your own path but remember it well
Don't try to be so deep, just work to relax
Make life a story but include all the facts
Learn about yourself when you're at the mic
Work the crowd just to see what you're like
Life will soon be everything you need it to be
Proceed with sight don't let only destiny lead
You always have control in every step you take
Follow dreams today and always live fast awake
At times I don't know where this path would go
Like I'm hosting a show I've never seen before
Filling in the gaps, taking punches for others
Learning along the way what life really offers
It’s time now to be down again
Steps closer to an unknown end
Digging up dirt nearly burying yourself
At least the digging is good for health
Live your life now, stay until the very last
Live your life today as if it's already past
Lexicon is a little wild creature with wings.
This sets the waves in motion through space.
Words are carried in the air or the seas with stings.
In poetry, words may bridge at a faster pace.
Drops of rain slither down the window.
As wisps of mist escape from my mouth.
Candle burns and shade casts an innuendo.
My sight fades like frost, and we'll fly south.
Words have the ability to both heal and harm.
Words have the ability to crush your heart.
Shred your soul and ruin you like a worm.
And it enters the bones via any body part.
Your words might expose you to hazards.
Avoid giving away too much information.
Words are nothing more than haphazard.
Ignoring tracks that won't peak imagination.

There was an annual gala party
going on last Friday;
from the large crowd suddenly
emerged a gorgeous lady
with a dazzling red gown:
she wasn't wearing a crown!
The young pianist noticed her
and started playing slow jazz music,
to thrill her and seduce her,
but it didn't sound too romantic;
he realized that my obsession was dire...
I warned him saying, " Desiree is all mine! "
Desiree was hard to resist,
I asked for a dance and she agreed;
Desiree's eyes were big and green:
I was the king, she was the queen,
and we danced like royalty.
Debbie watched us with a look of envy,
she stood there enraged and silent...
wanting me to hold her instead!
I threw Desiree a hot kiss
with the gesture of a lady's man,
giving away my admirer's weakness...
showing infatuation;
Desiree winked at me
delightfully and kindly!
With hearts and minds inflamed,
with a desire grown too wild
and a pulsing heartbeat inside,
we sent across a mutual feeling of likeness:
an intentional, flirtatious glance;
an exciting and magical night awaited us...
staring at the fluffy snow slowly falling outside!
Today's virtual meeting is now called to order
Log on quick. POTUS' giving away the country and its borders...
I'd like to order free college tuition for my eight kids
O.K! Just put up five of our campaign yard signs and send in your bid...
As for me, I'll order a 90% discount on an electric car
Should be no problem. Stay right where you are...
As an LGBTQ+ teacher, I demand free luxury housing
Joe's demands that too, we've seen him grousing...
My great-great-grandpa was a slave. Give me $2.5m in reparations
Good news! Joe just approved $10 billion to fund BLM demonstrations...
And me, COOKIE MONSTER, want all-day cookie free
We just asked the President. He said, 'Let it be.' ...
If that's the last order, you can turn off your screens
And remember before bedtime, GOP'ers, to mumble
~ Long live the Queen! ~
There's another virus going around.
Flustered by everything COVID-19;
I am grateful I still have a job,
but grumpy I have to drive there in the rain -
I need to get to the fast lane or I'll be late...
What's this?
A driver slowing down to let me in their lane
with a smile and a friendly wave.
A news report of teenagers with cellos and violins
playing a quartet on the porch of their
"self-isolating" elderly neighbor.
A good Samaritan
giving away toilet paper
to whomever has need.
The new guy in our coffee co-op
making a pot of decaf while
grinding beans for the high-octane pot AND
cleaning out the sink.
A friend sending out an email
asking How is everybody?
Knowing we're all hanging on by a thread
Please infect me with this kindnessvirus
I want to pass it around
To my surprise, seeds - did I ask for them? We are expecting rain and sun,
and a little manure. So I plant them with stakes. I just know what I need.
My garden, like a burial plot, yet something must rise from the pit. I just know it. I sense it is an important crop and its fruit will be spread to all my friends. The bag said “For 2020 — all you will need.” So I watch from my couch, expectant for seeds to sprout. I fall asleep and dream of a boy named Jack whose seeds grow
overnight. I wake up and look at my garden. You’ll never guess what happened next. I knocked on every door, near and far, giving away the sprouted fruit. Each one with different designs — plentiful masks. I laugh.

A Bridge Over Silent Waters
Never judge your fellow man
Before seeking your own reflection
Not the one that shines in a glass mirror
Seek it in the eyes of your fellow man
His eyes shall reflect your compassion or lack there of
When a pond has no ripples
Look for the lies, underneath
When you see the waves upon the water
Know that the winds are singing to you
Truth will always seek you out
Never close your heart to a strangers smile
His smile may bring you serenity or deception
Trust in your inner being to know
It shall open up towards the rainbows or seek refuge
To protect your soul
When you see a human suffering
Flea not inside your reflection
Instead reflect upon his suffering
Share the waters of your pond with him
This shall promise you both more rainfall
Notes
This was inspired by a poem written by Charmaine, she was kind enough to let me use a few of her lines in the first verse of this poem. Its amazing how when you read something it can open your mind to think of things you otherwise would not have. For some reason, maybe more because of his messages than his style I find myself thinking of Richards’s poetry as well. This for me is the beauty of the site, the inspiration one gets from fellow poets, it’s a great honor to have met so many, and to have shared so many ideas and views and opinions. More important than any poem is the laughter and smiles, this among friends is like giving away gold bars. (Although I do accept the occasional gold bar now and then)
I posted my sign in front of my garage,
"All Must Go, Batteries Free Of Charge."
Suddenly I was met with a large barrage,
of people taking all of my batteries from my garage.
That mistake drove me into bankruptcy.
Everyone thought I was giving away batteries absolutely free,
but that wasn't what I meant in reality.
I intended to sell batteries at a discount, because I didn't charge any,
but, "Batteries For Sale, Free Of Charge," sounded confusing to me.
Our everyday language could use some evolving,
towards a language not open to interpretation,
like the languge used in science, architecture, engineering,
mathematics, physics, biology and medicine.
If everyday language interpreted medicine,
we couldn't perform surgery, and the death toll would keep climbing.
If everyday language interpreted engineering,
we couldn't build bridges, worldwide they'd be falling.
Blueprints aren't open to interpretation,
they read the same whether you are Chinese, Russian or American,
and the finished product will always be the same thing.
Our everyday language is subject to all kinds of interpretation,
and that's why most problems often continue to happen.
When she took off her veil
She saw a face, much known, staring at her.
She could hear an echo of a familiar voice, a usual tone.
But she could not see her.
There.
The voice she heard,
Did it sing back a memory?
She did not know for sure.
The reflection she saw seemed like a mirage.
Staring back through those searching eyes,
And through those searching years.
The veranda of eyes is extensive enough
And the light of that reflection is brighter enough
Telling since the day before.
Keep on searching
Keep on cleansing
Keep on Perceiving
What else can you do?
And why is it needed, anyway?
A mandatory presence without enthusiasm
What right message could it bring?
And eventually, she understood...…
Someone was losing it, all
The vast horizon, the land of aspiration
And the seashore of the imagination of the unbreakable free.
She could sense the softer voice, the caring hand.
Mixing curry and rice before feeding with affection
A Silence ponders there for understanding the questions deeply.
Without giving away an inch, lest it could hit redundancy
That depth of meaning also fades away, day by day.
And all those mornings are vanishing, one by one.
A light flashes out…somewhere
A bucket kisses the water level of that ancient well
With a rope tied to it, still unsure, still pondering.
Why?
Did she know the reason? Did she perceive the meaning?
A spoon made a soothing sound in the cup of hot tea.
It is hard to fix a deliberate judgment call, always.
Did you need a more muscular wall?
Did you hear her, my mighty Dhu al-Qarnayn?
Her delayed hour fixes the boundary, the borderline of co-existence
And somehow she knew for sure that he is coming in the morning.
The foundation of her lost home, with her tale of the beginning
Deforestation.
Note: I wanted to write a poem with an environmental issue, but, above all, it is a poem with allegory. The rest is self-explanatory.

The poet is the dreamer, weaving pictures of love
into the palm of the mind in time.
Giving away freely those caring images
of a dream maker in melodic rhyme.
The prowess of the believer will continue to unfold,
by visions in dreams all miracle behold.
Loves mysteries in souls do grow,
faculties of healing affection only lovers know to sow.
The eternal soul knows of what we are made,
the spectrum by no worldly desire cannot invade.
Echoes of divine will by compassion to see,
the rich maze of kind words by pondering to be.
Legacies in the void as matter in progress for sure,
precise beauty emerges by mystery in joy to endure.
Time cannot be the thief anymore as tread,
when climes of faith are not forget.
Memories in concern of touching spirit spend,
and when the heart feels so innocent.
