Shadow Play

While Freud sits at the mind end of the couch phallus in hand
shapes others’ dreams in unspoken imposition ‘must-abation’
analyses abuses his daughter in metaphorical incest projects
his own aggressive sexual drives and neurotic megalomania

Jung after killing the father figure sits with and under shadows
gathers the zenith of clouds rays collects collective conscience
unconsciousness retrieves ancient symbols propagates mythical
archetypes to archetypical conclusions reflects tainted sunshine

He forges gently I surmise poles and vaults of contradictions
opposites polar juxtapositions seemingly un-mutual mysteries
and ponders light and darkness tearing torn apart thus healing
in the complementing contrast of void change completeness

Where Freud posits polymorph perversity bit by sexual bitter
sweet bit in a bid for so called science of mind over matter Jung
morphs perpetual change crafted and cast through a different
lens admits to poetic licence narration oral traditions and growth

******** in mind not of the ***** castrated in fear not envious of
phallic dominance over clitoral defence wombs groomed entombed
by guilt transgression sexual submission shallow **** oral penile
ossification of flaccid resurrection Jung begs and offers to differ

In complex incomplete never-ending search a path from change to
change and beyond dialectical synthesis played enacted in parallel
processes and progressive psychological drama of a different kind
he much kinder more reflective less regressive and adventurous

Lets shadows erect and paint play dance reflect and move on

Premium Member The Pleasure Principle

I'm not sure what Freud's Pleasure Principle is all about,
or was about Health and Safety;

Whether it's in
or out,

Whether hedonistic
and narcissistic
or the mundane
secular
capitalist
corporate product
of efficient sexual therapy
and heartless entertainments.

Whether the Principle is applicable
only to secular masters
for optimal "sacred rights" experience

Or also accessible to sacred slaves
as our secularized vocation
to provide for our nasty property owners,

Whether it is the primary purpose
of capitalism's efficient,
if ruthlessly competitive,
corporate monocultural deformation
into post-climax apathy
and cynicism
and cruel and unusual punishments,

Yet, somehow,
as I merge into this stream
of organic fossils
still miraculously refueling,

I am sure this Pleasure Principle,
Beacon of Health and Safety Bliss,
Paradise Pursuit

Could only be entered
by those wise enough to recognize
it is cooperatively
globally
multiculturally owned,
managed interfaith communion,
interdependently experienced
and multiplied

Into raptures
of organic/cosmic
internal/external climates
of and for personal
political
economic
ecological
theological
neurological win/win Climax

Of spaciated bilateral Time
dynamically equals revolutionary bicameral Space
in NonZero-Sum
open-holistic yet still emergent
equipoise waves
of self/other co-conscious
co-passionate
co-empathic
co-intentional
co-operative comm-union comm-unication.

Well,
thanks for sharing all that.

De nada;
my Pleasure.

did Freud know you as SuperEgo,

Out of the Box

The moment I am out of the box
Foxes and hyenas surround me
Needy greedy aggressive seekers
Those who even a second before
Lay hidden in hibernation
In the tightly closed boxes of steel
On the verge of elimination
Thanks to the cultural policing

Now pouncing for dark and dense satisfaction
In a paleolithic plunder
Quenching reddening hunger
In the black and brown forest
Of unchained unrest
In pursuance of almost unconquerable
And incorruptible pleasure principle
Of animal happiness

Night and day
Sense buds making hay
Out of the aesthetic box
Wreaking senseless havoc
Our rose and rhododendrons in decay
Our seagulls
In infirmary and hospitals

Out of the box
The Spanish bull and ox
Flummox our poems
Into the imagery of
Ingrained instancy
For our tumultuous ascendancy
On the pinnacle
Of crimson churning
And the giant jingling
Tapering off to
The momentary Nirvana
Of the
Intense distraction
That arose out of the box
A moment later
In an inertia again
Of the restless vein
For the overwhelming rain
Into deep brain
Teeming with craving lanes and bye lanes
In the dim light delight

Out of box
The red fox
No mailbox
No riverine knocks

The box is very important
For our civilization
Into the flowers
Of sunny sublimation

My Favourite Footbridge

At the footbridge day and night
Dreams meet and dreams avoid
The footbridge is never annoyed
Smiles Sigmund Freud

At this end the highway
At the other the park
Connects the two contrast
The footbridge smiles in the dark

Dreams in the dark chamber
The fountains turn and toss
Listening to the footfall chaos
The footbridge I walk across

Hurry up says the red bird
The police inspector is there
I run across the footbridge
To my easy chair

On one side the blood and dust
On the other your restless bird
The footbridge one has to trust
To bear the world very hard

Trust and honesty is so rare
in our world nowadays all around
but we must start at home
with ourselves to get off the ground

We need to be absolutely true
check ourselves to see it real
nothing must be held back at all
make sure we are the real deal

This is a very good exercise
for if honesty can’t be found
in ourselves we can’t ask others
to show the honesty sound

So be sure you are fully true
no matter what the outcome
at least we’ll sleep sound
know our honest line is plumb

(‘Being entirely honest with thyself is a good exercise’ - Sigmund Freud, Austrian psychologist) (1856-1939)

Premium Member Freudian Slip

A poet's soul lay in slumber,
his pen a distasteful adversary.

A suffering soul lost in yesterday,
stumbled upon his somnolent path.
Enchanted eyes felt her nakedness
through barriers of her cryptic veil.
Echoing tremors of her broken soul
gently charmed his hardened heart.
Enraptured by her enchanted tears
he joined her capricious journey.

Her enigmatic elegance inspired his
zealous zealot pen to ooze musings
praising their charismatic camaraderie.

Drifting into the anomaly of her mind,
he became a victim of a Freudian slip.
Voices tormented her malinger mantra,
suffocating her into a maudlin malaise.

Reprehensible words led to bruised ego,
unjustifiable actions led to lonely silence.

An aroma that expired with her last petal.

A poet's soul lays in slumber,
his pen a distasteful adversary.

Freudian slip
a slip-up that (according to Sigmund Freud) results from the operation of unconscious wishes or conflicts and can reveal unconscious processes in normal healthy individuals

I'M Justin Sane, Not Just Insane

People think that I have a sick and twisted brain.
They think that when I tell them that I'm Justin Sane.
When I tell people my name, they think that I've lost my sanity.
Everybody thinks that I'm a serious threat to humanity.

Employers never hire me, I can't get any work.
They won't hire me because they think I'll go berzerk.
Nobody believes me when I tell them that I'm just as sane as Freud.
I live in a cardboard box and believe me when I say that I'm annoyed.

People won't even let me in homeless shelters to get some food.
I'm going to break my foot off in their asses for being stupid and rude.
I'm tired of taking people's BS, it's too much for me to sustain.
The only way that I'll get any respect is if I change my damn name!

(This is a fictional poem.)

the end nears with Jesus and witches

let us hope there are no more glitches

little baby wears a mask in the manger

conceived socially distant without danger

no Golgotha crowd but liked tweeted clips

zoom calls for blurring out the Lords hips

immaculate censorship under lockdown

Amazon send the Saviour a virtual crown

due to panic buying there is no shortfall

of hygienic wipes for disinfecting our wall

by divine fortune rusty nails are also on offer

only the blood of Christ is scarce to proffer

Netflix shows reruns of a sound-bitten tale

a broker insists Christmas must be for sale

Wall Street continues with arms as a treasure

delivers lost lives and legs for good measure

conspiracy theorists say the Messiah was real

Wikileaks concurs but is brought to heel

by purveyors of halos spiked rosaries and zeal

as smoke cries for free ashes for dispersal

on graves boneyards and rotten rehearsal

a cat pees on the tree and needs to be spayed

Sigmund Freud calls for complex castration

of subconscious death wishes and propagation

in need for seeds to be neutered for creation

reality caves in and we must remove the stone

together we’re united Sisyphus is never alone

video calls remind us that the virus lives on

crosses borders without passports to and from

no visa required no customs only free trade

for hypocrisy bigotry Egos not easily slayed

what I would give for rewinding the legend

and attend carol singing and school’s pageant

in person not be stuck with oversized meals

walk freely to food banks attempting to heal

falsity ingratitude injustice entitlement schism

the infant itself may not be above criticism

but glitter and presents wrapped in blindness

are no substitute for love and true kindness

compassion does not require an opulent mall

no masses no pining nor spruce ever so tall

It’s time for reflection faith reason emotion

not notional piety and once yearly devotion

for Christ’s sake let’s stop moaning and start

to share from a warm and good-natured heart

Premium Member Back to You

Well, I’ve played every game and I took every chance
Not looking for love, just a bit of romance.
Could never just sit, had to get up and dance…
And I’ve broken some hearts I have to admit.
Forcing that piece of the puzzle to fit.
But, go looking for love, and see what you get…

But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…

Well, I’d run and I’d hide and try to avoid it.
While family and friends would all “Jung” it or “Freud” it
And I’d sit in fear that I’d really enjoyed it.
And I’d look back and laugh	but with no satisfaction.
Just chalk it all up to the rules of attraction.
A mutual choice, or a balanced transaction…

But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…

Just ponder respect or rejection, neglection.
Or try to reflect on protection, projection.
It is cause and effect or just imperfection?
A subject once taboo leads me right back to you…

Well, I’ve played every hand, took it well past the limit.
No river too wide, I just had to swim it.
Grew out my hair and let no woman trim it…
But the stakes went too high and my wallet too thin.
I’d scream at the lifeguard and the tide rushing in.
Then I found myself back where I’d already been…

But I keep coming back to you…
All you say and all you do
Fills my heart with something new.
I keep coming back to you…
Here a love so rare and true
Keeps me coming back to you…
