You might say that I'm just an atom,
But the universe, I extoll.
I view everything in creation
As one big shape shifting soul.
Even individual beings' bodies
Are really something more.
Microbial cells in flesh and bones
Outnumber human cells galore.
A body's cell confederacy disbands
When fate says the time is right.
No longer guided by human hands,
Its atoms spread in flight.
Scientists show atoms on a table
For everyone to see,
But there's nobody on God's green earth
Who understands our energy.
We atoms formed in the blazing heart of stars.
Is there reason to our rhyme?
We've been everywhere in history,
across the fabric of space-time.
The atoms from your neighbor, Mr. Jones,
Once, were part of Shakespeare.
Those guys had many different names,
Such as "a rose" that he held dear.
Some atoms were forged into a lethal sword.
Some in the blood that flowed
Onto the flowery battlefield,
Next to a marigold.
Some of them had found their way into
A princess's golden hair.
Some were in the arms of the handsome prince
Who held that maiden, fair.
Others spoke the words that broke a heart,
So devoted and so true,
While some gushed forth from the heart that broke
As it was severed into two.
Once desperate criminals, once victims,
Once oppressors, once oppressed,
Once cruel masters, once abused slaves,
As atoms' energy expressed.
Time and space is one cosmic tapestry,
Atoms join the heavenly jamboree,
And everything is we and we and we.
Oh, there are days when I still wonder why
I'm here upon this place we call our Earth.
And, there are days when looking at the sky,
I wonder how or why, or what it's worth
to live each day like yesterday, and then
give in to sleep till dawn, as night demands,
to then awake and find I start again-
the same routines until the day disbands.
But, there are days when it is all worthwhile
to know that just 'to be' is God's great gift;
the question 'why' brings me a little smile-
for only I have answers that can lift
me when I know I've done the best I can,
have taken pleasure in this gift 'to be',
and that's the reason why my life began-
to give and take with love...alive and free!
As time and space dimensions jelly-fish…
Quiet falls the cement-turf of lock-box seas;
Milky Way kisses answer my wish -
She nestles ‘neath an orchard cloak of apple trees:
---
Gray! Everything is gray! Gray is the sun!
But there she is…Providential Happenstance;
Butterflies turn. Acceptance - There’s nowhere to run.
Besotted silhouettes all but shadow dance
Achromatic Royalty speaks by way of muted denial.
Her silence floats fire upon fairie-flute notes. Clair de Lune.
She is a piano; She is forbidden fruit.
Unwrapped, she plays me to please the colorless moon
But still, magnets dance in tight embrace -
Our feet float fire upon cement courts at Wimbledon;
Wrapped by love - loved by shadows their hearts erased -
A queen’s colorless eyes briefly firefly flicker forbidden sun
---
And now, when time and space dimensions intertwine,
And with my fate convene while I’m in dream;
Where sleep disbands, awakened thoughts opine -
Not unlike pink, does Cleopatra seem.

Glorious brace glow from beams of shine
Yellow orange peeps streaming strip lines
Darkness disbands eaten by the sunset
Conjuring baby blossoms to life's sweat
Graciously drowning beating the twilight
Waving hope to a spick-and-span fright
My shining star, healing my aged scars
Into the sunlight, my knight on sight
New dreams burst jar, allowing spar
Top of the world, I find and whirled
Into the sunlight, spirits wake sprite
White no more tars, breaking all bars
Glorious brace glow from beams of shine
My shining star, healing my aged scars

The Circus gongs excite the Throngs in nighttime Never Land –
They swarm to see the destiny of Freaks at their command,
While Acrobats step pitapat above the shifting sands
And Lady Fat sits down to chat and oozes charm unplanned.
The Dwarfs in suits, so small and cute when marching with the Band,
Ask crimson Clowns with frozen frowns, to hold a mutant hand,
While Tamers’ whips with withered tips, throughout the winter land,
Lure Cats entranced through hoops enhanced with flames of fires fanned.
White Elephants in big-top tents boast black-tusk contraband
To regiments of Sycophants who overflow the stands,
But No One sees anomalies, and No One understands.
At night’s demise, the dither dies, the lonesome Crowd disbands,
Down dead-end streets the Horde retreats, their tattered rags in strands,
And Janes and Joes reweave their woes, for thoughts of change are banned.
To play a part in Three-Ring Art, I thought I’d try my hand –
I mastered skills, I felt the thrills, I breathed and seethed firsthand –
But destiny denied to me to taste a lifetime spanned
With tightrope walks and trapeze chalks ... excepting second-hand...
For alcohol provoked a fall, as if a reprimand,
And now, a heap, I sometimes keep the ticket office manned...
The light of your radiance has begun to pale
The golden parasol spawned in your prime now tarnished by silver mail
Your effervescent shine now eviscerated by a callous shell
Your passionless glare disbands our symmetrical estate nail by nail
Your youthful complexion scourged by a strain that is pallid and stale
Your brimming border now encircled by a stolid trail
Your free-flowing, gilded mane now saddled; slowed gait, you aimlessly flail
Your shielded hearth no longer an incubating swell
The residual heat can no longer the cooling tides quell
Your sunny stanzas now the purview of a discordant nightingale
The obstacle to our rapproachement a summit to high to scale
Your coarsening atoll now ringed with deep craters; my shallow mind dare not assail
Your lifeless orbit stranded in the dark shadows; a temporal hell
The dying embers quenched and shrouded by a murky veil
A quiet love outlives the turning years,
It bends through storms yet never asks to rest,
It hums beneath the weight of hidden fears.
It learns to lose and still be softly blessed,
A fragile thread that will not tear apart,
Though every night it fails the silent test.
It guards a fire that trembles in the heart,
And stands against the sharpest edge of pain,
Yet yields its breath before it turns to art.
For love can war, but cannot war in vain,
It fights the world with gentle, open hands,
Till one soft word can break it like the rain.
“Stay not,” it hears and all it understands,
Is love can live, but dies when it disbands.
“No photographs!” the guards implored.
To my surprise, they were ignored.
The cell-phone cameras snapped away,
No matter what the guards did say.
The guards were powerless, of course.
No one could possibly enforce
A rule like that among the crowd
Who could care less what was allowed.
Back in the pre-cell-camera day,
A rule meant that we’d all obey.
Yet modern times cause folks to question;
Rules are seen as mere suggestion.
How far will defiance go?
That is what I’d like to know.
When people drive right past red lights,
We’ll see what mischief that incites.
I grew up following the rules
And so, with other likewise fools,
I will abide by set commands
Before society disbands.
Each reel of snowflake leaves behind,
fine traces of her glowing days,
a melancholy cast of mind,
while color sets the world ablaze.
Where flies a gold and opal whirl,
as the moon's lulling course disbands,
and chilly winds of winter swirl,
the hardened heart against it stands.
And yet this night contrives to hold
a promise, tinged with freshening air.
As droplets wing the crisping cold,
a glinting gem lies hidden there.
For with this frosty change, at last,
a love remains in snowdrop's glow,
whose mist will counter tattered past,
to flutter down like feathered snow.

Fans in stands & beds with heads in their hands
Bazball disbands shredded into dreaded strands
Boycott this lot don't give a jot no one understands
Piss poor bores ignore turnstile roar in hostile lands
Tanned Aussie class brass band was hardly bland
Yelping Stokes blokes giving them a helping hand
Canned the cool fool Bazball brand must be banned
Ivory tower power zen that Baz Bob and Ben wield
Defective ploys annoys but from noise boys shield
What did planning spanning 4 years actually yield
Smote gloat all the chatting not like 86 and Gatting
Bleak Ben does ken Oz not a den for weak men
Joe standing sentry his century show a footnote
For it does seem this time right quote right team
As a hack with that knack way back once wrote
Can't Bat.......Can't bowl ....Can't field!
