For he has no mother to provide the food,
a poor little bird pecks at drifting cloud and eats the pieces
that bubbles up in the cloud as a mist to fill his empty stomach.
Fail to withstand midsummer’s burning heat
though the little bird’s wings were grown to cover
the darkening nightly air,
alas, he couldn’t fly in the sky because his wings
were grown from the piece of cloud, the only food he ever fed on,
and therefore, fell on the ground crying through the night agonizing.
The little bird, though, has eyes, he couldn’t see a thing
because he was blinded from the burning sunbeam
that pierced through his eyes.
He, now, is lying on the ground weeping
through the night to drive his misery away
oh, however, breathless.
The little bird once joyfully played with his siblings,
and pecking one another to show off their strength,
now, became a pebble by the riverside shore
because all his siblings though flew away
he failed to keep his small space,
the space was, rather than his own choice,
but was confined by the force, and though, he is now lying
on the ground he really never left the nest, and therefore,
he always an immature little bird.
For legend says that the Phoenix gathers ashes
from his remains that burnt in the furious fire
and soars in air to find his lost home,
does the breathless little bird’s heart beat?
or because lifelessness is another form of a life,
the little bird sobs in the night from the piles of stones
flooded by the moonlight at the lifeless riverside shore.
The Moment Of Death
What is going to happen?
What will I see after I take my last breath?
Will there be those who have gone before me
There to welcome me and make me feel safe
Unrecognizable to me they look as they did in their prime
They try to talk
Reach out for me but I do not know them
Will it be a world of fire and smoke?
Spirits screaming as their bodies are ripped apart
Will there be anyone to listen to my prayers?
Will God meet me or is Anubus the image I will see?
Can Osiris take me into an eternal paradise?
Will I change into another life?
An infant to loving parents or an animal who wander the forests
Will my spirit be trapped in my body?
Entombed in darkness in a sealed box
Is there really a bright light that I will walk into?
A paradise or a hell
No one knows or maybe they will not tell
They might be keeping it secret so we will fear death
Will I know before that moment when my life ceases?
Maybe there is nothing
Nothing to see
Nothing to fear
Just nothing
This cry for help goes unheard
Rivers flow from within
As my emotions cave-in.
I’m blooded, beaten and not really living
I go through the motions and continue existing.
She screams and kicks wanting more than I can lift.
I glare at this sicken reflection
And sense a feeling of rejection.
You smile and giggle when we do for you
All you know is that we are pleasing you.
You accuse, abuse and cast the blaming
Without caring, you are the cause for our shaming.
My ears bleed from your hateful words
From all the sorries left unheard.
I can never say how I feel, because the
Happy smiles I wore were all too real.
Instead of telling you, all my feelings
Perhaps this gesture will be more appealing.
This color is your favorite
Don’t be angry for the staining
You are the cause for this ending
Because through all the pleasing
I never was really living
I have no idea what compelled me
To wonder what my future held
The craze about finding my tomorrows
To view delivers meld
So I decided to decipher my wants
To a Highland Seer I went
The desire to dispel my haunts
Kawasaki 500 sent
v
Sit down and close your eyes
Put your palms on the table
Whilst I shuffle your future be
And allow the cards to enable
.
Silence befell my ears
Thrilled, he spoke about my past
All through my childhood years
To be honest, I'm left aghast
v
He smiled at me as he wrote
Requesting I read it later
He wished me on my journey
This Seer, my future translator
Good evening, from the Highlands News
As we report on a roadside crash
A Kawasaki 500, has left the road
An Ambulance in Emergency dash
To the Hospital the News Crew followed
Having caught up in this saddened case
They were told of what was told inside
In tear fear fold explained
In pain, he whispers into the Paramedics ear
Please read this letter to me
On the opening of the envelope
There were no words to read
.
STAND BY ME
Oh my darling the news is so bleak
I saw the consultant only last week
Think we better start making plans
See the vicar; hear the wedding banns
All I’ve ever wanted was to be your wife
For better for worse, through trouble and strife
The consultant confirmed I’ll not last the year
Oh kiss me my darling; just hold me so near
Wedding plans float around in my head
My dying wish is that we should wed
Time is running out so we mustn’t linger
I want your wedding ring upon my finger
A simple ceremony, just as quiet as can be
All I ask my darling is that you stand by me
SIDE BY SIDE
All I ask my darling is that you stand by me
My life is slowly ebbing away you see
We always dreamed that one day we’d wed
I don’t have long on this earth, and soon I’ll be dead
I know our hasty wedding is not the way we planned
Having spoken to the vicar, I know he understands
We talked about our future, but now our plans must change
Today we’ll be declared man and wife with gold rings exchanged
We had so many plans of how our lives would be
Sadly god has a very different plan for me
Tears flow down our cheeks, as we become man and wife
I will love you my darling for the rest of my life
My dying wish was to be your bride
Now I can face my fate with you close by my side

Doctors make their routine rounds each day
Well-meaning zealots come in the room to pray
I sit here sharing tears with you
I wish there was more that I could do
To fight the cancer, they can do no more
Your body has lost this hard-fought war
There is no other course we can pursue
I wish there was more that I could do
You are far too young to leave this world
How can I carry on without my girl
I would do anything to help pull you through
I wish there was more that I could do
I watched you release your last breath
No miracles were left to ward off death
One last kiss before the final adieu
I wish there was more that I could do
Let me tell you about a man who is severely depressed.
He learned the hard way that money can't buy happiness.
He thought he'd never be unhappy again when he won the 250 million dollar lottery.
Money couldn't buy him happiness and that was something he would soon see.
He discovered that buying that lottery ticket wasn't such a great decision.
Two weeks after winning, his wife and daughter were killed in a head-on collision.
He buried his family and now he suffers from anxiety and panic attacks.
He wants his wife and kid but those millions can't bring them back.
He's so depressed that he finds it hard just to get out of bed.
He's super rich but that can't bring them back from the dead.
He's suffering because of his loss, his poor heart is in a sling.
He won a quarter of a billion dollars and now he knows it can't buy everything.
Well...
I'd never guess such a unclassical fate
Yet upon my endeavours
Walking among fallen feathers
Believing I'd make it to the greats
It's funny
Of course people would so simply say
No
Don't do it
It's not worth all this
But upon the internal screeching inside my ear
I can not hear it
The sound drowns out
And now I'll count...
1...2...3...4
I don't feel needed anymore
5...6...7...8
No I can't hear you, its far to late

I'm writing sloppy with this pen
Feel far too numb
Here I lay...
Upon the bed in which I was born
Oh here
Look here
It's my whole family
Crowding around
I blow out the candles
the air thickens with smoke
Where am I now?
Look it's mummy and daddy
Wait where's daddy going?
Where's daddy gone?
Is he ever coming back?
The floor falls from underneath me
I'm back in bed
My flesh upon my arms and legs are bleeding
But there is no sensation
What have I done?!
I shouldn't be here!
Doctor I'm okay
Please leave me to lay
My family have crowded around me again
My dad is here
Beside mum
Everyone's crying
The world around me dissipates
The light... I see it!
I'm going to it!
Goodbye mummy
Goodbye daddy
I'm happy now
But I am sad
I don't know what to do
I'm scared
Someone help
Ouch what is that?
It feels as though Zeus had struck me with his lightning bolt
There it goes again
Wait...
I'm back...
Hello family
I'm okay
There's no need to cry
I'm sorry for doing this
Forgive me
I'm sorry
I need my rest
I need to sleep
Goodnight
Form:
Unfathomable is my lamentation and melancholy,
Boundless and infinite this inconsolable heart;
So chaotic are yesterday's bittersweet memories,
And dreadful is the weeping of forever tears.
O, the weeping.
Engraved in stone are beloved names for all eternity,
Irrevocable and final are the words, "Rest In Peace";
Quiet is the cemetery this beautiful summer day,
Peaceful and serene the rows of eternal stones.
O, the weeping.
Loud the whispering souls that ever haunt my days,
Yet, I understand that death is a part of living;
But how, Dearest Lord can I just turn and walk away,
Yellow are the flowers I leave in the sunshine.
O, the weeping.

Doing 85 in a 35
Driving my daddy's El Camino
The engine roars like a hungry lion
A creature that would never be tamed
The wheels throw dust behind me
There is a brunette on the seat beside me
Daisy dukes and a halter top
Aphrodite has come to life
Her legs wrap around my stick shift
She takes it from first to fifth
Ever gaining speed on this country back road
Fence posts rush by in a blur
I can hear no sounds except the wheels
Tearing up the road as we fly over it
So many accidents on this road
So many people killed on “Dead Man's Curve”
What makes me think I can make it?
Is the chance worth the love of a girl?
Would I ever get a night with her
Or even a kiss?
The speedometer hits 110
The stars are no longer points of light in a distance sky
They begin whirling they are so beautiful
She moves closer tome
Her skin glistens in the light from the dashboard
Beads of moisture looks like a million diamonds
The song on the radio is pounding into my body
Building ecstasy far beyond what any boy should feel
Stopping would cause the feelings to wither and die
The faster we go the erotic she feels
Her every nerve controls her passion
Burning deep within her ivory skin
Bringing her to the edge of ******
The brakes lock
The tires squeal as she screams in passion
The motor dies with a bang
The wheels stop in total quiet
Then there is just silence
The silence was broken by her voice
She told me her name was Jackie
Then the door opened as she disappeared
Was she just in my mind?
An image conjured from my loneliness?
The motor died next to a tree
A white cross stood before me
Surrounded by dying flowers
One word was on the cross
It was faded because of the falling rain
It was a name
“Jackie” it said
Then I knew that she was gone
