God's Planet

God’s Planet

In the beginning God created the Earth
He filled it with plants and animals of every kind
Filling the oceans and building the mountains
He made a place for His favorite creation
Creatures that looked like him who lived in peace
Giving Him love, respect and obedience
Humans grew, changed and multiplied beyond His expectations
Single beings became unified clans
Clans became wandering tribes
The tribes became villages and the villages became cities
Cities grew and again the humans changed
They saw the world in a different way
The world was simply a resource to be overused and abused
Ancient forests were murdered for the wood for fancy furniture
The ground was raped for the gold and silver for vanity’s jewelry
The beautiful metals were replaced by rotting garbage
Humans had learned to use what he needed long before
Now, he has learned how to be wasteful
Animals and birds, human’s cousins, were killed for sport
Others were abused by humans who swore to care for them
The crystal clear air man and animals needed to survive
It too was a place for poisons more numerous to mention
Even the God’s gift of water was not safe from humans
The remains of plants and animals long extinct were used to power the human world
Thick coats of black oil and sludge destroyed the breath-taking wilderness
Birds and fish died so humans could drive to buy food instead of growing what they needed
More destruction at the hands of the human species
In the end, everything that God had given man was used, abused and destroyed
Humans had made their mark all across the planet
In the long term God will see what humans had done
He will see that His gift was something humans could not handle
In a flash animals and plants, shining oceans and the air will return
They will thrive on a new pure planet
In that flash, that millionth of a second God will know what to do
Humans, those who were chosen to be the closest to God
God will not even think of them after what they had done
And God’s virgin planet, His chosen world, will remain a paradise
All without man

Right Now (Part 1)

Right now, I'm sitting here writing this rhyme,
As I do it, millions of people are abused by time,
God knows I would help them if I truely could,
There are many people I'm sure who also would.

Right now, little Timmy is waiting for a willing organ doner,
None of the kids in his school care, he's always been a loner,
The doctor says the prognosis doesn't look very good,
His parents hope he won't die, and he's wishing he would.

Right now, some homeless bum is running down the street,
Running from the man that he hoped he never would meet,
This man wants to try something with his brand new gun,
Funny how theres such a thin line between fear and fun.

Right now, someone is spending their paycheck to fix their car,
They have to have it, to walk to their job is simply much too far,
Now they can't even buy food because all their money is spent,
What will happen at the end of the month when they can't pay rent?

Right now, someone is playing slots in Vegas trying, hoping to hit it big,
That someone is so poor they can barely afford to puff on that second hand cig,
They know that if they get lucky and become the big winner,
They might know for once what its like to have a real dinner.

Right now, some girl is sitting in her empty apartment,
Wondering just where her fiance of 11 months went,
He said he'd be right back, he was just going to the store,
Now she knows that the bastard doesn't love her anymore.

Right now, some superstar is walking all alone to his car,
He is looking around wondering where his bodyguards are,
A beggar asks him for money, knowing his life this superstar can affect,
The superstar shoves him away scattering the $0.05 the bum wanted to protect.

Right now, a mother is going through her labor pain,
Kicking and screaming at her family Doctor DeWayne,
Doctor DeWayne says it will be either the baby or the mother.
And now a husband quietly says goodbye to his significant other.

Wisdom Didactic

Give children oxygen at least one time a day
Give infants bottles filled with empty promises
Use binoculars to witness criminal activity
Keep neighbors at a distance, say from here to Mars
Keep thoughts to yourself, never in your pockets
Keep an open mind in case you need a parking space
Buy food then eat it to survive
Make babies at your leisure
Use a partner to save time
Make a shopping list that includes dozens of oxygens
Make a dictionary that includes the word oxygens
Buy one more bottle at the store for security
Promise to never read the shopping list
Keep it in sight and never let it leave your side
Leave the light on by your nightstand to see it twice
Stay focused on important things that start with the letter X
Mark X on every document
Mark “A” if you run out of Xes
Make Xes a new word invented for your dictionary
Use a large letter A if you discover adulterers
Buy more letters to cover every contingency
Fill the refrigerator with fresh milk
Leave babies and infants outside of it
Keep all children away from hot and cold
Remember they are sensitive to light and life
Breath air in and out for system balance
Take a supply of oxygen in case you want to leave
Never leave unless you intend to travel
Close the door to keep mosquitoes out
Take time to figure what it is all about

Authors note: I checked the dictionary. The plural of X is Xes. You don't have to invest in or invent a new dictionary. Also: The singular and plural for oxygen is oxygen. However, in more specific contexts, the plural form can also be oxygens e.g. in reference to various types of oxygens or a collection of oxygens. (It is best if you leave it alone unless you intend on using it.) Also: I discovered you can use “A” for apple or Adultery (but don't take my word for it and don't make any commitments unless you are sure.)

"Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Nehemiah 8:10

__________________________________________

I have thought about what the Lord expects of me
he made me a beautiful world
filling it with all I need to survive
there is food and water . . .
I have his blessing to fill my cup of life
to drink from the deep blue sky
he wants me to enjoy this world and all within
but with respect and never with greed
to be respectful of his creation
to do my best to protect all who exist on Earth
for the Lord made all the creatures big and small
he asks of me to share with the less fortunate
to have compassion and sympathy
to have gratitude that I have shelter from the weather
when so many don't . . .
to be thankful I have money to buy food
in a world that is like a ravaged garden . . .
yet, I know the Lord wants me to enjoy life
and to succeed with humility . . .
to be filled with joy at beautiful things I find
and to enjoy experiences I am blessed to have
but to always give of myself to those in need
a friend, family member, or stranger
to forgive and have mercy
and I do this whenever I can
though my own life is weather-stained with tears
and my soul is filled with pain
I remind myself over and over that there are others
who suffer more than me . . .
and with the Lord's strength I do what I can_

Have you ever noticed when people help each other out
when they show compassion…when they show they care
when they do something nice for one another
there’s a kind of magic in the air.

Faced with the coronavirus…a virus the world can no longer ignore
the restaurant next to our bookstore decided to close its doors.

I was behind the counter in the bookstore
There was only a young mother and her daughter in the children’s nook
where they sat on the floor together…quietly reading books.

While they were keeping busy reading and I was at the counter…occupied
the owner of the restaurant that was closing …happened to walk inside.

“We are closed.” she said to me with, I must say, the most cheerful attitude
Then asked, since they could no longer use it…if I would want some food.

She quickly returned with three bags of food
I thanked her and thought…I really can't believe it…
she seemed as happy to give me her food…as I was to receive it.

I set the bags behind the counter as the young mother and daughter left the nook
then came up to the counter to purchase their new books.

As they stood in front of me…I guess I got caught up in the mood…
I told them about the restaurant and asked if they could use some food.

As it turned out they were adopting a baby that very day…
and had just driven in from Tennessee
They noticed our bookstore on their way to buy food for the kitchen of their B and B.

Let me save you a trip, I said handing her the 3 bags of food
“Thank you.” she said. “this is wonderful…I really can’t believe it.”
I smiled…as happy to give her the food…
as she was to receive it…

With the virus wreaking havoc…on every person…everywhere.
It’s nice to know we can still find moments…
when there is magic in the air.

God Gave In Order To Save

It is Christmas time, for what do I wish;
For what hope or dream does my soul anguish?
Is something from my list under the tree;
Something chosen especially for me?

I wonder what good things we’ll have to eat.
Apple cake with walnuts would be a treat.
Some peanut brittle or chocolate fudge,
In pecan pie with whip cream I’ll indulge.

I’ll hope to have my family gathered around
Opening gifts making a paper mound.
We’ll take a drive, enjoy tinsel and lights,
Make memories as we gaze on the sights.

Yet midst the holiday laughter and cheer
There are lonely masses living in fear.
Poor, worried, abused, tired, haggard, and spent
In search of cash to buy food and pay rent.

Where is hope for these lives torn and shattered;
Who live each day, depressed, weak, and scattered?
Perhaps abused by those proud and greedy,
Who use their labor yet leave them needy.

God promises good things to these oppressed,
His merciful love will not be suppressed.
The wealth of the rich will be adjusted,
God’s balancing justice can be trusted.

Others are trapped in our sin sick culture
Where dark sadness hovers like a vulture.
Guilty of trespassing, hence they must pay.
With so large a debt they wilt in dismay.

Is there hope for these who have misbehaved?
Is there any way their souls can be saved?
Is help on the way? Then let’s hear the story!
Tell me please, is there a word from glory?

Yes, to these lost, broken, sinful forgotten,
God sent his son, His only begotten.
From the crib to the cross his life he gave,
All our mistakes and failures He forgave.

We need not perish in this world of strife,
But with faith in Jesus have eternal life.
God sent His Son, the world not to condemn.
It’s Christmas, may the world be saved through Him.

Premium Member How can I help?

How can I help?
I was reading an article
about a conversation that a journalist was having with a Google executive
She said that with the H18 visa
She doesn’t feel like her stay in the US is permanent
That touches me
Having put down roots for over ten years
Only being plucked down and leave later
How would you like that?
One might say she chose that route
Yes she did
and she was rewarded with the financial security that she built up
But that doesn’t change the fact
That life for her now is temporary
I was reading another article about seniors
That have no one to talk to
No family members to look after them
They live by themselves
A life of loneliness
No one knows how they go about their lives
No one cares
I was reading about how families have no money to buy food
Children go without
So many stories
Heartbreaking stories
It seems no one cares
Does anyone care?
One cares
God cares
But what can one do except to bring the petition to God
There has to be a change
Change with one’s thinking
That we are powerless
We cannot do anything
We can do all things through God
Who strengthen us
That is what the Bible says
So start
Start by visiting relatives
Call those long lost friends
Get to know your neighbors
Bake cookies and go down the neighborhood
To give to them
You said “not in my neighborhood”
Okay. So say hello to people you meet
In your daily life
Strike a conversation
That may be the only conversation
They have all day
You’d never know
How you impacted someone
Just make an impact
A fingerprint
To say that yes I am here
God is here for you
And for me
Life is not temporary
It was meant to live
Live - present tense

Premium Member Christmas Without

Christmas comes around once every year
Feeling of happiness, toasting good cheer
What does it now mean? I ask myself
Material things replacing god's wealth?.

What about people who go without?
Tummy loud rumbles when hunger sprouts
No home to keep them dry, safe and warm
Sleep out all night from dusk through till dawn.

Parents with no money to buy food or toys
Second hand clothes for their girls and boys
Breadline living no comfort or joy
No work for people, no jobs to employ.

Visit to food banks for something to eat
Donation of shoes for children's young feet
Loan sharks percentage payback plenty more
Twenty first century - modern day poor.

Adverts and television entice and tease
Buy now pay later, tempt buying schemes
Debts soar high at commercial gain
Children now wanting latest new game.

Parents trying to do their very best
Homeless in doorways rest tired heads
No one to talk to; pensioners sit all alone
Choose between eating or heating on.

Privilege sit in their ivory towers
Making the rules controlling by power
Reality does not affect their own self
I'm all right Jack sod everyone else.

Christmas is more than feasting and gifts
Jesus was born December Twenty Fifth
God sent his son to save us from sin
Born in the stables, no room at the inn.

Man's greed and for power still lives on
Many have forgotten god's only son
Kindness, compassion, help others out
Birth of Lord Jesus what Christmas is about.

Holiday Gluttony

as america’s gluttons gear up for a day of
mass stuffing of the face
to celebrate the
genocide of native-americans in this country
one can’t help but find the dual-speak
concerning the
need to be
t
h

n

r
to be a humorous inner monologue which plagues the minds of those who
stand in the check out line at the grocery store
flipping through the glossy mags
hoping that one day they will be able to flatten that stomach out
enhance those muscles & breasts
as well as gain fuller more lush
lips
amidst all the other physical attributes of the
beautiful people.

the thin-minded glutton walks a fine line at the family table
as s/he stuffs themselves but in the same moment
counts each calorie going in
with the foreknowledge of just how much exercise &
dieting it will take to work it off.

in fact, the conversation at the table might even
dabble between talk of how much said individuals have gained
or lost throughout the year
as the buttered rolls are passed.

meanwhile,
in the rest of the world
people who cannot stuff themselves in the name of genocide
envy the occupants of the empire
(whose thumb they are pinned under anyway)
already thin (and not airbrushed)
for what it is that they need is
nutrients, clean water, protein &
a better life---
and as we pass the candied yams
we are glad that we are not yet living on the streets
with the 40,000 or so registered in NYC’s homeless shelters alone
or for that matter
unable to buy food because our weekly budget is stretched so very
tight
because we are unemployed &
waiting on the next check.

Outbreak, The

Midway twenty twenty,
we are keeping a fair distance,
We somehow went back to nineteen eighteen
on paper-boat with supersonic speed,
A virus showed again up
From Northern hemisphere
and went viral, an outbreak, now a pandemic!

We stay at home to beat it.
We have been holed-up in our closets,
It's been like three weeks, then an extra two,
We are far from each other
Awaiting good news, the breaking
of the curse on the world,
a world witnessing culling!

Four months gone,
We are still keeping our eyes open,
Covering our mouths and noses;
When you cover your mouth
you can't eat for real.
Now we are on lockdown,
No food, no money to buy food
and no where to buy food,
We are all hungry and starving,
No one is taking note.

We heard in the news,
Monies meant for the masses got burnt!
The Federal Government is keeping mute,
The Minister of Finance burnt down her office
in a bid to roast Easter chicken
for her immediate family, what a shame!

We are staying in the picture,
a miniature one this time
Yet, we are keeping a fair distance,
The Federal Government is a secret society!
We are missing in the big league
We are missing in action,
We are keeping our distance,
We can't touch each other anymore,
We can't hug, we can't kiss,
Markets are closed, the roads blocked,
churches and mosques lie desolate!

This is an evolutionary war,
We stay at home or be the carrier
transporting the enemy bullets
infecting and killing our loved ones,
Spreading death even to ourselves!
