How can I help?

How can I help?
I was reading an article
about a conversation that a journalist was having with a Google executive
She said that with the H18 visa
She doesn’t feel like her stay in the US is permanent
That touches me
Having put down roots for over ten years
Only being plucked down and leave later
How would you like that?
One might say she chose that route
Yes she did
and she was rewarded with the financial security that she built up
But that doesn’t change the fact
That life for her now is temporary
I was reading another article about seniors
That have no one to talk to
No family members to look after them
They live by themselves
A life of loneliness
No one knows how they go about their lives
No one cares
I was reading about how families have no money to buy food
Children go without
So many stories
Heartbreaking stories
It seems no one cares
Does anyone care?
One cares
God cares
But what can one do except to bring the petition to God
There has to be a change
Change with one’s thinking
That we are powerless
We cannot do anything
We can do all things through God
Who strengthen us
That is what the Bible says
So start
Start by visiting relatives
Call those long lost friends
Get to know your neighbors
Bake cookies and go down the neighborhood
To give to them
You said “not in my neighborhood”
Okay. So say hello to people you meet
In your daily life
Strike a conversation
That may be the only conversation
They have all day
You’d never know
How you impacted someone
Just make an impact
A fingerprint
To say that yes I am here
God is here for you
And for me
Life is not temporary
It was meant to live
Live - present tense
